It's going well thanks! I've not done an awful lot so far, but I'm going for a coffee with my Uncle at about 3:30pm. :)
|
Sounds like fun. Are you finished work for the day?
|
I don't work weekends. :D I only work two days a week, Thursday and Fridays. :) I am a lowly part-timer!
Up to much this afternoon? |
hey all, hope all is as well as possible.
|
I only work one day a week at the moment, usually a Thursday. This afternoon I'm going back up to the hospital to see my mum and then coming home to make dinner. I'm struggling getting things done, I should really be doing something productive.
|
It's OK to have days when you're not productive. :) Thursday is a great day to work! :) What are you having for dinner?
Hey Buttons! Missed you! |
Hi Buttons.
|
I went to Morrisons yesterday and got chicken dinners that you just put in the oven. I can't be bothered cooking properly these days so they're handy.
|
We missed you buttons!!
Agree with Aubergine, its ok to have unproductive days!! |
They sound nice, Cheryl! I'm not much of a cook, either. I like stuff I can microwave. :P
Yo Beckie! |
My mental health hasn't been great recently, it's led to me struggling to get things done. I'm just feeling really negative, I'm probably tired.
|
I used to like cooking and baking but now I like heating-up. :D
|
I always feel worse when I'm tired. I hope you get some good sleep soon. :)
My Mum is coming later to drop my dry laundry off. She is a gem for drying it all - I'd done three loads! |
I'm a good cook when I make the effort!
Which I rarely do these days :p Yo Aubergine! You were actually in my dream last night (sounds creepy I know XD ) The weirdest part is I don't know what you look like so I'm not sure how that worked Make sure you take care of yourself Cheryl Self care is very important! |
Did I look like you, Beckie? :P Haha, that is a bit creepy. What was the dream about?!
|
I can't really remember!
The part you were in was at university, that's all I remember! |
Songs of Praise is coming on. Apparently it's Homeless Sunday. I'm always amazed at the number of homeless people around here, it is getting worse as it usually does under a Tory government. We live in one of the richest nations in the world, there shouldn't be homelessness in this day and age.
|
Oh! Was it a brick uni? Many moons ago, I got places at a few unis to study social work. Didn't go though. :P My OU tutor phoned me the other day, did I tell you? She seems really lovely!
|
I get very sad about homelessness.
I don't see any in my town, but in the bigger town I go to college in, there are lots. It's beyond belief that this can happen in this day and age. It was a brick uni Aubergine! That's good that she seems nice! Ive had good experience with the OU tutors |
There are lots of homeless people where I live, too. It's awful. There's so much judgement, too. I get so cross.
I'm glad you have had a good experience with OU tutors! Which modules did you do? |
Me too.
Especially in this weather. It's not like these people are choosing to freeze on the streets and people treat them so badly. I did SDK125, S142 and DSE141 |
Cool! I'm doing SDK100, which I think sounds similar to SDK125. :)
|
Cool!
SDK125 was my favourite! |
It looks SO interesting! It's really related to work, too. Did you find the workload manageable? I'm hoping it will be. Really must send off this thing for DSA! I keep putting it off... Oops. :P
|
Some people think that those who are homeless are by their own volition but it can happen to anyone. If you lose your job and don't pay your rent you're one step away from being on the streets. They're not all alcoholics and drug users.
|
You're right, Cheryl. It's hard. Even if they are alcoholics and drug users, there's usually a reason for it. Addiction is a disease; it's not an easy life to lead.
Almost time to go to Costa! Hot chocolate? I think so! |
I found it very manageable!
And if you're struggling, its really easy to get extensions on assignments so no need to panic if you're a little behind. Yes you must do that! Exactly Cheryl. I was homeless for quite a while, even though I was in hospital and not on the streets which I do count my blessings for, but even then, the feeling of being homeless took a massive toll on my health so it must be 100 x worse for those on the streets |
I'm lucky enough to never have experienced homelessness but I think it's an awful thing to happen to anyone. I can't imagine not having somewhere to go, it's something we just take for granted. A hot chocolate sounds good, I love Starbucks hot chocolate.
|
Thank you. :) That's reassuring! :)
Off for coffee! See you later! :D |
It can happen to anyone so easily!
Enjoy yourself Aubergine!! |
Bye Aubergine, enjoy yourself!
|
Yes and it's good there are people out there working with the homeless and trying to help.
|
Yes that is good.
There should be more help available though. Especially when you consider all these politicians giving themselves pay rises all the time and owning multiple houses and stuff. Ugh! |
Exactly! Claiming the taxpayer's money for moats and never having to spend any of their ridiculous salaries. It could see the point if they did a good job.
|
It's so ridiculous
It's amazing that its still allowed to happen! |
They were also caught employing their family members and then billing the taxpayer for it. They keep telling us about austerity, think of how much money we'd save if stopped picking up the bill for them.
|
I need to go back up to the hospital later, my brother just text me and told me to come back tonight. My mum's getting moved ward so she'll not be getting out tonight, I was hoping she would. He said she's still the same, they're waiting for antibiotics to work. I'm trying to distract myself but it's not working.
|
Television is garbage on Sundays. Have you been watching anything decent recently?
|
I heard about that too.
Appalling! I can't imagine how difficult that must be. Do you have support from other family members? I'm watching Garfield 2 |
My aunt and cousins are going to visit tonight and my mum has close friends so they'll probably be visiting as well but we can't have everyone up at the same time. I'm watching Matilda, I've seen this film so often I could play a part in it.
|
It's good that you've got other people about
I haven't seen Matilda in years! |
I used to love Roald Dahl books when I was younger!
|
Me too!
What was your favourite? |
James and the Giant Peach. :D
|
Hello everyone!
I’m just home from staying over at my sister’s. The cat was being as adorable as always. |
Thats a good one Aubergine!
Sounds nice Lorraine! |
My favourite is the witches.
|
I like The Witches too! :)
It sounds like you had a nice time at your sister's. :) |
I did.
How are you guys? |
Illusive brother was terrified of the witches film!!
Im ok. Tired as usual! |
