I'm glad you have some treats to look forward to, Jen. Hope your lungs start behaving soon.

I got a stuffed slabb chocolate bar which are kind of expensive and huge but I don't get them often. The card in the package said 'life happens but chocolate helps.' True!

Cacoethes 16-10-2023 03:01 PM

Don't really fancy anything

Glad you got some treats!

Mine doesn't come on automatically

I've seen those slabb chocolate bars on fb!
They look incredible!

long road 16-10-2023 03:30 PM

That's fair.

I just had a hot chocolate as I was a bit cold.

Cacoethes 16-10-2023 03:59 PM

Definitely hot chocolate weather

tamobhuuta 16-10-2023 05:03 PM

I just had a hot chocolate, I used 2 sachets to make it properly chocolatey.

A nurse from a ward I've been on before came here for something and when she saw me she came over. She asked how I was so I said fine and she said obviously I wasn't and she was nice to me.

nonperson 16-10-2023 05:33 PM

This comment's a bit behind the convo but wanted to say that country slices are a blast from the past!

Cacoethes 16-10-2023 05:55 PM

Hope you enjoyed it tamo!

That's nice of her. Good nurses are worth their weight in gold.

I'm not sure i actually know what a country slice is. I shall google!

I finally went to the retail park!
And asked L if she wanted to meet at costa so we had a coffee!

long road 16-10-2023 06:07 PM

Hot chocolate for all!

Country slices are a kind of Mr Kipling's fruit cake thing. Very old school.

Yay Coffee!

I tried to nap some more after getting half an hour before lunch but I couldn't manage it. Feeling pretty blargh

Cacoethes 16-10-2023 06:22 PM

Hm. Interesting!

Ah that sucks jen.
Hopefully you'll be able to get a decent sleep tonight

I managed to get a costa too good to go bag for tomorrow
Because my town is so small, there are like 3 places that do them and they get snapped up within minutes! So i was lucky to get the last one.

long road 16-10-2023 06:33 PM

*fingers crossed* I get to sleep, sooo tired.

Yay cheap food and the satisfaction of actually securing a bargain.

Cacoethes 16-10-2023 06:44 PM

Same.
I've had such a crap night's sleep for the last 2 nights!

Indeed!

one_step_closer 16-10-2023 07:03 PM

*sings lullaby to everyone* That might actually keep you awake though!

Cacoethes 16-10-2023 07:19 PM

I'll try anything at this point tbh XD

not_so_insig 16-10-2023 07:23 PM

Hello all. I have been out today.

tamobhuuta 16-10-2023 08:39 PM

Anywhere exciting insig?

long road 16-10-2023 08:55 PM

I had good sleep last night but it was post seizure sleep so pretty deep but not all that restful.

I ma listening to space banjo it's quite chill. I will imagine you are singing the lullaby to that Lindsay.

I wanted to go out but I got too tired.

not_so_insig 16-10-2023 09:05 PM

Tamobhuuta I went to a town in the next county.

tamobhuuta 16-10-2023 09:07 PM

Space banjo?

That is exciting insig.

Cacoethes 17-10-2023 06:19 AM

Morning everyone

long road 17-10-2023 08:58 AM

Space banjo it's like folk but as it was played by astronauts. It's a thing on YouTube with atmosphere videos.

Morning Beckie!

Cacoethes 17-10-2023 09:29 AM

Hey jen!
How are you?

tamobhuuta 17-10-2023 09:34 AM

Lr, that sounds... interesting! Good morning.

And good morning Cacoethes.

How are you both?

Cacoethes 17-10-2023 09:35 AM

Morning tamo
How are you?

I'm ok thanks.
Bit chilly!
I had to put the heating on this morning before even considering getting out of bed!

one_step_closer 17-10-2023 10:31 AM

Morning everyone.

I may have to look up space banjo when I can be bothered.

How are you all?

Do you have a cool thing that you can turn your heating on with your phone, Beckie?

Cacoethes 17-10-2023 10:37 AM

Morning lindsay!
How are you?

Yes i do! Novelty still not worn off, even after 2 years XD

long road 17-10-2023 10:42 AM

Hi Lindsay and Tamo!

I am ok, thanks. Had a bit of a rough evening yesterday, multiple seizures and asthma got bad enough I need a nebuliser. But feeling alright this morning a little tired and achy but alright.

The spacefolk banjo I was listening to last night can be found here for the curious https://youtu.be/ygYfJSTc_qQ?si=Sq6TZHOA8H03RqYz

Anyone got any exciting plans? My day includes partner picking up shopping at 1pm and therefore getting tasty foods in time for lunch, and a GP telephone call sometime after 5pm. Planning to shower shortly and might even try getting outside at some point.although it's the coldest in my house it's been since last winter so might need a coat if I go out or at least a thick jumper.

one_step_closer 17-10-2023 10:46 AM

I'm not great. Have decided not to go to the gym today.

That is really cool, Beckie. No more shivering getting out of bed!

How on earth (or space!) did you find out about space banjo stuff, Jen?! I hope you have a better day today. Definitely wear something very cosy if you go outside.

long road 17-10-2023 11:48 AM

Sorry to hear your not having a great day Lindsay. I hope staying at home helps, is there anything nice you could do for yourself at home like watch a favourite film or make something tasty to eat.?

Well it started with listening to ambient jazz in the background when doing things and then ambient soundscapes with music from franchises like harry potter and LOTR and sounds of a place e.g. gryffindor common room or galadriels's forest, then listened to some lo-fi and before you know it the you tube algorithm suggested space banjo and I ended up enjoying it!

Just managed to shower and get dressed in clean clothes. Now chilling on sofa while I work out what to do next.

not_so_insig 17-10-2023 12:16 PM

Afternoon all. My cat is lying near me. He's long and flat.

Cacoethes 17-10-2023 12:24 PM

Yay for tasty foods jen!
Glad you managed your shower!

Sorry you're not great lindsay
Do you have any plans instead of gym?

I went to the gym this morning, then did a mini clean out for the boys, went for a run, showered. I need to go to asda, but the barclays bank app hasn't been working all day so i can't transfer any money over so i can buy stuff. Which is kind of important!
I need to wait for my hair to dry anyway. Hopefully it will be back up and running soon!

tamobhuuta 17-10-2023 01:01 PM

We've actually got some blue sky here. I'm waiting for my soup to cool down (mushroom)

long road 17-10-2023 01:03 PM

I had a lot of mental health related post and it has unsettled me a bit. Trying to find a way to calm myself down but can't find anything I want to watch

Money is kind of needed to purchase good and or services. Do you have any cash? Is the app working again yet?

If your cat is flat Dawn you should reinflate him XD

Hooray for soup!

one_step_closer 17-10-2023 01:52 PM

Can your cat do other shapes, Dawn? :-D

I've just been doing a bit of reading.

Do you wait for your hair to dry naturally, Beckie? Hope the app issue is sorted soon.

I hope you can find something nice to watch, Jen. I've been looking forward to watching Crash Detectives, it's interesting.

Cacoethes 17-10-2023 01:57 PM

The app finally works!
Been out and got what i need to.
In very sad news, costa has cancelled my too good to go thing because there wasn't enough surplus food. Was looking forward to that!

I do wait for it to dry naturally. It's short and thin, so doesn't take long
I do not own a hairdryer!

Have you got any phone games you can play jen?

Reading is good lindsay!

one_step_closer 17-10-2023 02:04 PM

Aww, Costa stuff would have been nice. Are you going to behave and take some time to rest now?! I also wait for my hair to dry itself but it takes ages, if I have to go to the gym or something I partially dry it with my hairdryer but I'm too lazy to fully dry it!

Cacoethes 17-10-2023 02:05 PM

Yeah i suppose.
Though probably will go out again at some point!

Hairdryers are effort

one_step_closer 17-10-2023 02:08 PM

Hair is effort!

Cacoethes 17-10-2023 02:10 PM

Mine isn't that much effort anymore tbh!

one_step_closer 17-10-2023 02:11 PM

It always looks good though. Mine has loads of annoying sticky up bits and short hairs.

Cacoethes 17-10-2023 02:30 PM

Thank you!

Ah that does sound annoying!
All i really need to do is brush mine and it's alright

tamobhuuta 17-10-2023 02:38 PM

I leave my hair to dry, hairdryers are heavy!

Cacoethes 17-10-2023 02:42 PM

They are!
And loud

tamobhuuta 17-10-2023 02:43 PM

Very loud, right next to your face.

long road 17-10-2023 02:56 PM

I only use a hairdryer if attempting to style my hair because I am going somewhere fancy (a wedding usually is the only occassion considered fancy enough) or if I have to go out within like 30 minutes if washing my hair and its cold outside.

Cacoethes 17-10-2023 03:07 PM

Exactly tamo!

Idek how to style my hair jen!
Would be handy to be able to dry my hair in an emergency.
But i don't often need to do that because i always give myself way too much time to do stuff.

long road 17-10-2023 03:13 PM

I don't really know how to but I find sometimes with a hairdryer and a round brush I can at least get the ends on either side to either both face inwards or bother face outwards. And make it a little less wild.

Cacoethes 17-10-2023 03:17 PM

That's cool!

long road 17-10-2023 03:25 PM

It doesn't always go to plan but I do try.

Just had a late lunch of a chicken mayo sandwich and cucumber sticks and houmous.

Cacoethes 17-10-2023 03:48 PM

That is a good lunch!
Did you enjoy it?

long road 17-10-2023 04:01 PM

Very much so. Got the chicken and the houmous in our big shop. Think we are going to have assemble your own pizza tonight (have pizza bases, sauce, cheese and will prepare a few toppings) with some salad.

Watching a man go camping on you tube and trying to chill out before GP phonecall around 5pm.
