Cacoethes 21-08-2023 08:53 PM

I have no rice or noodles either XD

Yeah i could do!
Too late to eat now anyway

long road 21-08-2023 08:55 PM

That's a mission for tomorrow then. Get a few ingredients for an egg sandwich.

I am shattered. And feeling rather eurgh so going to try and stop screen time. See you at ridiculous o clock tomorrow!

Cacoethes 21-08-2023 09:01 PM

Indeed!

Yeah same!
Yep, see you bright and early :'(

Cacoethes 22-08-2023 05:50 AM

Morning everyone!

My front door handle is broken so i am currently trapped in the house.
If there's a fire, I'll just have to yeet myself out of a window XD
Gonna call letting agent as soon as they open. They'll get it fixed today because it's a fire hazard.
I hope they can get it fixed before the hay delivery...
Unless they decide I'm at fault and I have to get a locksmith out.
Literally do not have the money for that.
There's probably an out of hours number somewhere. But cba with that. The letting agent will be open in a few hours.

long road 22-08-2023 06:44 AM

Morning!

Oh no to being trapped in your house! Hope it can be fixed quickly and letting agent don't make you pay for a locksmith yourself

I slept a bit more last night. Maybe got 7 hours as I went to sleep earlier, still woke up at 5:50am but it is what it is

Cacoethes 22-08-2023 06:52 AM

I literally cannot pay for a locksmith. And they probably can't leave me stuck in the house indefinitely!
I'm at work tonight now too.

That's good!
Waking up early is annoying though

long road 22-08-2023 07:19 AM

It's a Mexican standoff XD I expect they will pay though. Only time I have had to pay for that kind of thing is when it was my fault I was locked out i.e. forgot my keys, trapped in house cos mechanism broke definitely sounds a landlord problem.

Are you happy about work or no?

I have worked out that at the moment I wil wake up around 5-6am regardless. So trying to go to bed a little earlier to sneak a bit of extra sleep in.

Cacoethes 22-08-2023 07:29 AM

They've never questioned me about anything else I've needed fixed tbh. I've just explained what's wrong and they've sorted it.

Kind of. Feel sick and headachey but i think that's from lack of sleep. Hopefully I'll feel better by 5.
I volunteered for the shift anyway, E doesn't feel well and was meant to be in all day, so i said if she needed me to, i can cover. I know she'd do the same for me.

That is a good idea!

long road 22-08-2023 07:40 AM

Ah so probably your brain overanalyzing things and making you worry. Hope it's not too long until the letting agents open.

Maybe you feel a bit eurgh because of injection yesterday? Dont t forget to drink lots of water today. Little sips add up if you struggle to get it down.

You and E have a really sweet friendship. I am glad you have her to look out for you irl and vice versa. Is it a bar shift or serving?

It doesn't always work as sleep is a fickle beast and it can take ages to drift off. But it helped last night.

I have done breakfast and meds that go with food. Just doing some very gentle physio for my legs as they are locked up this morning. Then it's time for rest of my meds.

Currently debating between a cup of tea or a cup of coffe for after meds.

Cacoethes 22-08-2023 07:51 AM

Yep, as usual!

Nausea is making it hard to drink.
I barely managed a coffee this morning!

Yeah she's a really good friend!
I only do bar. Can't be dealing with serving!

That's true. Why is sleep so hard??

I'd go coffee, personally!

long road 22-08-2023 08:28 AM

I know it well!

Would another coffee be more feasible than water? Liquid is better than no liquid. And for years I never saw m dad drink anything that wasn't tea or coffee unless the temperature was above 30 degrees Celsius. So it has to be fine!

That's good. I didn't know if because you were a covering shift you would have to do whatever E was down for.

Our brains are trolls. Only reasonable explanation!

Think I will go for coffee. Was waiting to see if heart rate was being a troll today but it seems ok.

Cacoethes 22-08-2023 08:35 AM

L is going to get me a coffee and pass it through the window. A caramel latte is going to be much better than instant coffee!

Nah, you can do part of the shift if you want.
I would have done all day, but I have an MS teams thing at 2pm, hay delivery and also, I cannot get out of my house XD

They absolutely are!

Glad the heart rate is ok!

Accidentally Abstract 22-08-2023 08:55 AM

Enjoy the coffees Jen and Beckie! Having a latte delivered via a window is excellent, haha.

I hope you get out of the house soon Beckie! And yeah as Jen said, there's no way they can decide you're at fault for that one. :)

I've got almost back-to-back meetings today, which, given how overwhelmed I was yesterday, is an interesting day... We'll see how I get on, I suppose. I'm getting a bit worried that I'm no longer able to work full-time, but I've not got much choice and don't even want to contemplate that so... on with the day!

Cacoethes 22-08-2023 08:59 AM

I very much enjoyed the coffee! And it seems to be helping the nausea and headache which is a win!

Yeah they probably won't, the letting agent and landlord have been really good the whole time I've lived here!

Oh wow. I hope you're able to manage. That would be a lot for anyone!

long road 22-08-2023 09:02 AM

Aww you two are so cute! Enjoy your caramel latte!

I have just made a cup of my Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Coffee in my aeropress. It is delicious!

Your work sounds refreshingly flexible for hospitality! Yeah can't exactly go to work if you are locked in your house XD

Good luck with work today Luce. Are they are online meetings or face to face? When I was working I found online ones less annoying as you can zone out a bit until they get to item on agenda you are responsible for. It is risky though in case they suddenly ask you a question.

I havent worked in 2 and a half years because I developed a neurological condition (FND) on top of my mentals and asthma. Was working my way back towards work with neuro rehab but asthma has put a bit of a spanner in the works lately! Anyway that was a long ramble to say I get the worry about not being able to work.

For now just take each day at a time

Cacoethes 22-08-2023 09:06 AM

Oooh that sounds posh!

It really is! Every time I see lovely HR lady, she's basically just like 'do what you want, we just want to make it easier for you'
And new GM said i can take as much time off as i want to when i told her about physical health woes.

long road 22-08-2023 09:25 AM

It is pretty posh. It's 100% arabica single origin and is the most expensive ground coffee I buy at ?7.50 a 227g bag. But it's so worth it and I get around 25 cups out of a bag so really it's not that expensive. Definitely cheaper than coffe shop coffee and definitely better than instant!

You have lucked out there. Supportive employers are hard to find. I am lucky with mine to as I am still on the books 2 and a half years after going on sick leave!

Not sure what to do next. I have already done the admin task I assigned myself for this morning. And I am trying hard not to overdo things!

Cacoethes 22-08-2023 09:29 AM

Nice! I love good coffee!
The most expensive I've ever gone for is nescafe azera at ?6 XD
Which is pretty nice tbf

I have! There are mental health first aiders in the company too.
And also a 24 hour helpline specifically for pub staff

That is lucky!

Do not overdo things! You know you'll regret it!

Have informed letting agent. She's going to let the maintenance lady know and they'll give me a call back. Hopefully soon.
She asked if I'm going to be in all day XD
I cannot physically leave the house so yes

Thanks Beckie. Yeah it is a lot, especially after I was so overwhelmed and barely functional yesterday. I can only do my best. I just finished a meeting which was more personal with an occupational therapist, as I'm considering going down that path career-wise.

They're online, and I suppose that's a bit less pressure than F2F ones, but I still find it difficult. I'm autistic as well as the mental health fun, so it involves a lot of masking regardless and I'm just so exhausted and whatnot at the moment that it's hard to maintain. I at least work with mental health professionals largely, so they're pretty good and know me fairly well - meetings are internal ones which helps, but I'm also super behind on a lot of work stuff.

Sorry to hear about all of the health woes, that sounds like no fun at all and I hope they manage to help the asthma settle for you soon. One day at a time sounds like a sensible plan, and one I often try to remember for myself (or a minute/hour when needed!).

I'm glad you've lucked out with your workplace Beckie. I have as well. We've literally not got one of those sickness absence policies which disciplines you for how much time you take off - so I'm repeatedly told to just be off whenever I need to. They're pretty good for reasonable adjustments, etc. as well. Super flexible with me, which I think I need to be able to maintain this - even with that I still can't do it sometimes!

Cacoethes 22-08-2023 09:55 AM

You absolutely can only do your best!

Masking must be so so tiring!
Let alone having to do work things WHILE masking!

I don't think we have either tbh!
You're not always going to be able to do it, i can't sometimes! Think everyone has tricky days, it's just going to be amplified for some people

tamobhuuta 22-08-2023 10:04 AM

At my sister's job she says they're really good at letting you make up the time when you're well.

Good morning all.

long road 22-08-2023 10:10 AM

My dad has Nescaf? azera. Is probably the best instant coffee out there in my opinion.

So far have managed to stay put on sofa. Trying to think of something I can do that isn't physically active but will keep me occupied mentally as the steroid induced zoomies have hit again!

*Fingers crossed* a maintenance person comes round and gives you your freedom sooner rather than later Beckie!

Makes sense Luce, totally valid to still find online meetings hard, just because something's is less hard than something else doesn't stop it being hard! Masking does sound exhausting and we all only have so much energy to give on every given day. Glad you have a supportive work environment but know even if work are supportive it can feel hard to take time off.

Thanks for the sympathy / empathy. I do minute by minute or hour by hour in the bad days too.

Morning Tamo!

long road 22-08-2023 10:12 AM

RYL ate my e with an accent. Woe is me.

Cacoethes 22-08-2023 10:23 AM

Morning tamo!

It is definitely the best instant coffee!

Well done! I know that can be really difficult when you have the zoomies!

I really hope so! And hopefully not when I'm in my MS teams thing!

Ryl is eating a lot of things atm!

not_so_insig 22-08-2023 10:25 AM

Morning all. My free cat food sample arrived today so my cat will be happy.

one_step_closer 22-08-2023 10:26 AM

RYL is being naughty.

Good luck with your days everyone.

My neighbours bin is overflowing and there are some baby wipes with poo on them in my garden but I'm not going to say anything to them.

Cacoethes 22-08-2023 10:40 AM

That's gross lindsay!
You really should say something!

one_step_closer 22-08-2023 10:44 AM

It's very gross. I'm not the kind of person to say something. They will just lie there forever!

How are you getting on?

Cacoethes 22-08-2023 10:47 AM

I know it's not easy, but that's a health hazard!

Still waiting to find out when the contractor is coming to release me!
I have his number, the letting agent gave it to me so i know who's calling when he does.
I was wondering whether to send him a message. But he can't just abandon the jobs he's already got planned. It is not even 11am so got time

Have you got any plans for the day?

Thanks Beckie, yeah it is bloody exhausting. I'm at least going to last longer working today than I did yesterday, so that's a plus, haha. I've made it through 2 meetings so far. Therapy at half past, which I'm happy about.

Morning everyone else! :-)

long road 22-08-2023 11:00 AM

Still being good and partner is awake now so he will stop me if I lose control and start doing all the things!

Morning Dawn! What a lucky cat I hope they enjoy their treat!

Morning Lindsay!
Eurgh to overflowing bin. Maybe anonymously report it to council? (Is this a thing one can do I assume so because health hazard) They won't know it was you that way!

Maybe call him or send him a message if you haven't heard when it's almost time for your teams meeting Beckie? That way you don't get interupted but don't pressure the guy either.

My partner's sister should be coming over this morning providing her virus symptoms are gone. Will be nice to see her when I doing a bit better health wise. Last time she saw me (Wednesday last week) I was off to A&E via ambulance

Cacoethes 22-08-2023 11:11 AM

You're doing amazingly luce!
Hope therapy is ok

Good to hear jen!

Yeah i might do

Hopefully she'll be able to come over!

not_so_insig 22-08-2023 11:17 AM

Report to environmental health Lindsay. In some councils they give out clinical waste bins for nappies and incontinence pads so if space is an issue in their general waste bin they might qualify for that.

Cacoethes 22-08-2023 12:32 PM

I don't think i actually have the meeting at 2pm.
I've re read the email, and i was emailed when i was in hospital before my holiday, so nothing was set for sure by the looks of it.
I've emailed both the guy and the organisation, both automated replies say away for stadf training yesterday and today. So guess it's not happening!

long road 22-08-2023 01:14 PM

And now my FND is playing up and I have muscle twitches and spasms in my shoulders, down my arms and in my legs. Plus a hand tremor. It's bearable just but sods law when lungs behave FND starts kicking off!

Well at least that leaves you free to deal with maintenance man Beckie!

Hope everyone is having ok days!

Cacoethes 22-08-2023 01:21 PM

Oh no!
You can't catch a break can you??

Yep. And hay delivery which could be here anytime in the next hour.
I messaged maintenance guy. Just informed him when i have to leave for work and if i neee to notify them that I'm going to be late.
Also got another parcel coming from fedex which is a random courier.
Hoping i can just shout through the door

long road 22-08-2023 02:03 PM

Apparently not. It's low level spasms though so like I said bearable. And much preferable to breathing issues. Just obviously I would prefer to experience neither! XD

Hope deliveries through broken door go smoothly and that the maintenace man is in touch soon! If he hasn't contacted you by now I would give him a call as you are literally trapped in your house. Definition of emergency maintenance needed if ever I heard one!

Just had some lunch and partners sister is better so should be here in next half an hour to hang out and give partner some respite.

Cacoethes 22-08-2023 02:15 PM

Well yeah, neither would be idea XD

Hay has been delivered. I just had to shout through the door at him XD
I messaged maintenance guy and he called me shortly after. He was just finishing a job, then had to go home to pick up handles and I'm only a 25 min drive from him apparently, so he said he should be here before 3. He's gonna give me a call when he's on his way.
So i can relax a bit now!
Just waiting for fedex delivery now. I'm hoping that one can be posted. Or I'll have to shout through the door again

That'll be nice!

long road 22-08-2023 02:22 PM

My body however does not seem to understand ideal XD

Lol at shouting through door at delivery person. They must have been so confused XD

Looking forward to especially as last time I saw her we had to call ambulance which puts a downer on things you know :p

Hooray for having a time for maintenance man. That should hopefully leave you plenty of time to get to work for 5pm :)

Accidentally Abstract 22-08-2023 02:23 PM

Hooray, I'm glad you'll be free soon Beckie!

Sorry about the FND Jen, that's a right pain - neither would indeed be ideal, but at least it isn't both at once..? Trying to find a bright side but struggling lol. I hope that nonsense backs off for you soon.

Therapy was alright thanks Beckie, and I'm getting through the day better than yesterday (low bar, but I'll take it!). I've currently got a couple of guys in the house building furniture for me - decided to just pay someone to do it so that I can tick one stressful thing off my to do list!

Cacoethes 22-08-2023 02:32 PM

Know the feeling!

Yeah i think so! Lol

I can see why that would be a downer :tongue2:

He's just called. Google maps is saying 30 mins, he said he's going to be as quick as he can!

I'm glad therapy was ok. And that you're doing better today!
Building furniture is super stressful so i don't blame you for paying other people to do it!

Cacoethes 22-08-2023 03:19 PM

Contractor guy is here.
A window has already had to come off because he needed to get in and they don't open wide enough. And the door is off now too.

Accidentally Abstract 22-08-2023 03:51 PM

Haha sounds dramatic! Glad they're there to free you now though! :D

I've got through all four of my meetings today, woo! Now just an hour or so more work and I've done the day. Phew!

one_step_closer 22-08-2023 04:46 PM

Hope you're going to have some rest time after work, Lucy.

What a day, Beckie!

I was at the gym. First time without the support worker and we seemed to do more work than when she was there!

not_so_insig 22-08-2023 04:54 PM

I have been setting up my amazon TV stick. It took me ages to sign in to the various streaming services. Now watching Keeping Up Appearances as a reward :-D

Cacoethes 22-08-2023 05:16 PM

I have been freed!
I'm at work but don't actually have to start until 6 because E has to wait for another team leader to be in at 6. I was about 2 mins from home when she told me, but was so sick of being in the house i just went to asda and came here early!

Well done Luce! You've done so well!

Did you enjoy it lindsay?

long road 22-08-2023 05:31 PM

Freedom for Beckie! Huzzah!

Run out of energy to respond to more people's, apologies.

I actually went outside and sat in the garden in the sun for 20 minutes it was lovely but has tired me out a fair but. Lungs didn't complain much but are a little more grumpy now. Biceps are still twitching! I am going to accidentally become toned XD

I've finished work now, done the washing up (of a few days), had a shower and got into nice comfy pjs. I'll get some dinner shortly and then perhaps try to find some useful external sources for my assignment and then maybe relax for a bit!

Well done for going to the gym without your support worker!

Well done Luce! You've done so well!

Hooray for freedom, especially in time for work! Hope you have a decent shift this evening.

And thank you, feeling quite proud of making it through today, ticking a few little things off and feeling relatively okay. And my furniture is now built!!

Accidentally Abstract 22-08-2023 07:10 PM

I'm amused that even after years of absence from this site, I'm still the 26th highest poster ever, haha.

long road 22-08-2023 08:02 PM

Clearly you were here a lot Luce!

Evening everyone!

I had roast dinner for dinner and actually got to eat this time instead of having an asthma attack a few bites in. It was sooo good. Bless partner's sister she cooked it for us and then went home to her husband who had cooked her and him dinner to eat. So my partner didnt have to cook.

Feeling a little dodgy asthma wise but hopefully it settles.
