I'm excited at the moment too, probably still too tired to process it properly. =D

I don't honestly know when I last saw proper live music.

Oh wait, I went to see the Kaiser Chiefs with my dad a few years ago but that was a very small gig at a race course. It was meant to be the Beach Boys (hence my dad coming) but they cancelled and they offered us Kaiser's tickets instead. That was good.

But other than that... I'm going to have to think right back about maybe 7 or 8 years.

Cacoethes 23-07-2022 09:03 AM

I'd much rather see kaiser chiefs than the beach boys!

I hadn't been to a gig in about 5 years before this year!
So far I've seen poets of the Fall, MCR and green day, weezer and fall out boy! Also Russell Howard and mrs browns boys which are kind of different kinds of gigs!
I want to see panic at the disco next march too!

What was your first ever gig?
Mine was motorhead when i was 14.

tamobhuuta 23-07-2022 10:06 AM

Music gigs 0
Comedy gigs 1

Cacoethes 23-07-2022 10:16 AM

Would you like to go to a music gig tamo?
Or would you be too anxious?
I still get anxious tbh but always enjoy it once i get there!

I feel very, very hot. But my temperature is perfectly normal.
My cold has gone (lasted about 30 mins randomly yesterday)
Tested for covid twice and both negative!
Weird.

nonperson 23-07-2022 10:29 AM

The Beach Boys would have been a laugh. I grew up on their music so it would have been kinda cool. Dad enjoyed the Kaiser's instead though. =)

My first gig was the Offspring at Wembley Arena actually when I was 17!

I don't mind being in a massive hoard of people when we're all there for the same thing.

That's odd, Beckie... Maybe put a cold cloth on your face to help?

Cacoethes 23-07-2022 10:32 AM

Yeah i suppose so!
I accidentally saw black lace live at a random free festival a while ago and that was a laugh. All these old punk/goth types dancing to agadoo! It was an...experience!

Oooh the offspring! I like them!

I am no longer hot.
I'm too young for hot flushes!!! D:

What comedy gig did you see?

I have no idea what you bought tickets for np but yours and Beckie's enthusiasm make it clear that it's something exciting so yay!

Cacoethes 23-07-2022 10:51 AM

Shinedown! A rock band.
It is very exciting! :-D

Have you been to any gigs jenna?

Pi.R^2 23-07-2022 11:14 AM

I read the word Shinedown initially but I confess it meant nothing to me!

I don't like music gigs much because the audience don't just sit quietly and listen which I find stressful and unpredictable so I prefer comedy and musicals! Saying that, I've been to several low-key ones that I didn't dislike, most recently Eleanor McEvoy :)

nonperson 23-07-2022 11:17 AM

I like the all encompassing noise! Especially when it's that loud, then nothing else matters.

My sister didn't know who Shinedown were either when I mentioned them yesterday.

Cacoethes 23-07-2022 11:17 AM

Yeah i get that!
There is lots of shouting and singing along and jumping about!

I've only been to one comedy show (russell howard) but would love to go to more because it was lots of fun!
Never been to a musical!

I don't know who that is!

I asked someone at work if she knew who shinedown were (thought she might have because she went to mcr and hella mega tour) but she didn't!

nonperson 23-07-2022 12:23 PM

People are missing out.

Cacoethes 23-07-2022 12:33 PM

Yep!
Each to their own i guess!

I am at the hairdressers :-D

one_step_closer 23-07-2022 01:51 PM

Hey everyone, I hope you're having a good day.

My first gig was Blink 182, can't remember what age I was. My only other music gig was Linkin Park in 2014. I've also seen Wicked, Matilda, and Derren Brown a couple of times.

What are you getting done at the hairdressers, Beckie?

Cacoethes 23-07-2022 01:59 PM

Hey lindsay!

I would have LOVED to see blink 182 and linkin park!

Colour and a trim!
Will post a pic to fb when it's done :-D

one_step_closer 23-07-2022 02:02 PM

How can you be on the phone when you're getting your hair done? Don't you need to hold your head in certain positions?

Cacoethes 23-07-2022 02:09 PM

Have to wait ages for the bleach and dye to be ready to wash off!
Bleach was done, washed that off, dye applied now Waiting for that to be ready! Can't remember how long it takes. Like 30 mins maybe?
I'm on my 3rd cappuccino XD

nonperson 23-07-2022 02:32 PM

How long is the whole appointment?

Cacoethes 23-07-2022 03:24 PM

I'm home now.
It was like 3 hours! Lol
Most of that was the bleach/dye setting
And i have 3 colours so they all had to be put on and blended and stuff!

one_step_closer 23-07-2022 04:30 PM

3 hours is a long time. The result is amazing though.

Cacoethes 23-07-2022 04:33 PM

It is!
It goes quickly though!
Thank you! I'm SO pleased with it!

one_step_closer 23-07-2022 04:37 PM

Will it always be that wavy or will it straighten out when you wash it? I like the waves.

Cacoethes 23-07-2022 04:42 PM

It'll straighten out unfortunately!
I like the waves too
I'm booked in to get them done again for my future sister in laws hen do next month!

one_step_closer 23-07-2022 04:47 PM

That'll be nice. Does it cost much?

Cacoethes 23-07-2022 04:51 PM

Today was quite pricy! But actually not bad considering what was done
Just putting waves in it won't cost much

one_step_closer 23-07-2022 05:18 PM

I'm glad you treated yourself. Did you swish your hair when you came out of the hairdresser?

Cacoethes 23-07-2022 05:22 PM

Totally did!
Still swishing when walking around the house lol

one_step_closer 23-07-2022 05:23 PM

Haha! You have to do that when you get your hair done. It's a rule.

Cacoethes 23-07-2022 05:33 PM

Definitely is!

Have you been up to much today?

not_so_insig 23-07-2022 07:01 PM

Hello all.

Cacoethes 23-07-2022 07:05 PM

Hey Dawn

Been up to much?

not_so_insig 23-07-2022 07:22 PM

I went wild swimming before. I was in the water 25 minutes. It was colder than last week.

Cacoethes 23-07-2022 07:29 PM

Sounds good

Zurg 23-07-2022 07:33 PM

Yay for Shinedown NP!!!! :D
I hope you enjoy!!!
I considered getting a ticket for their show in Copenhagen. But then i decided not to because i seriously can't be arsed for a 4 hour train ride, then concert, then another 4 hour train ride back…. And logically, i could stay in Copenhagen over night. But i really can't because i don't like being in Copenhagen that long!!! ;-)

Also, hello everyone :-)
I've just had the nastiest, filthiest and most delicious piece of cake. My life is now complete (for this night!!!)

Also Dawn, what is Wild swimming??? Is it swimming in the sea???

Cacoethes 23-07-2022 07:36 PM

That is lots of effort Zurg!

Oooh sounds lovely!

Zurg 23-07-2022 07:38 PM

I admire your patience at the hairdresser Beckie!!! I once had a haircut that lasted almost an hour and a half and i nearly started crying in the end because i was so stressed. When she was done i just paid and ran all the Way home.

Cacoethes 23-07-2022 07:42 PM

Bless you!
I do get slightly frustrated with waiting and i just want it to be done NOW but these things take time!
Same with tattoos!

nonperson 23-07-2022 08:22 PM

Filthy cake XD

Cacoethes 24-07-2022 08:19 AM

Morning everyone!

I slightly regret choosing to book a 9am pilates class
I was up at 7 anyway but I'm tired!

Zurg 24-07-2022 09:16 AM

Lots of coffee, Beckie!!! And then it can go both ways; either pilates Will wake you up or it Will make you even more tired. But it's sunday so both things are okay!!! :-)

tamobhuuta 24-07-2022 10:15 AM

Hi Cacoethes, hi Zurg.

Cacoethes 24-07-2022 10:19 AM

Pilates definitely woke me up!
And I'm glad i went :)

Hello zurg and tamo!
How are you both?

tamobhuuta 24-07-2022 10:23 AM

I'm glad pilates went well. Do you have plans for the rest of the day?

I'm ok. I had a weird dream about golf.

Cacoethes 24-07-2022 10:32 AM

Thanks!
All i have to do now is put the washing away once it's done. Maybe shower later.
How about you?

tamobhuuta 24-07-2022 11:13 AM

Just Mass at 5pm

Cacoethes 24-07-2022 11:17 AM

Hope you enjoy it!

The weather is nice today
Not too hot!

tamobhuuta 24-07-2022 11:26 AM

I haven't been outside yet but it looks lovely, a beautiful blue sky.

Cacoethes 24-07-2022 11:38 AM

Yep! Nice breeze too!

nonperson 24-07-2022 12:28 PM

It's a bit more than a breeze here. Nice though. A mere 26 degrees supposedly.

not_so_insig 24-07-2022 12:29 PM

It's only 19 degrees here.
