Devil Girl 25-10-2007 10:02 PM

Well I still haven't finished Eldest which I was reading when I started this post!

I am struggling to get the time to read because of uni! I am reading philosphy articles (argh) Spend so many hours just trying to understand what they mean!!! Business book...like ploughing through political news articles right now. Psychology books, statistics or taking ages trying to find the bit of info that fits in with the lectures!!!

Any ways, just about to start Life Interrupted: The memoir of a Nearly Person By James McConnel

Hope it is good! really miss reading things that I actually enjoy!!!

^I have this and still have to read it, is it good??

Sky 30-10-2007 11:36 PM

I've just read 4 books in a week - I was bored! They were all interesting and all about abuse, I don't tend to read many books on this subject because I worry they will all be the same, however I've been proved wrong with these 4. Yes they were about abuse the authors suffered but they were written in different styles which I liked. The books were

Don't tell mummy and when daddy comes home by Toni Maguire
Someone to watch over me by Izzy Hammond
Out of the dark by Linda Caine and Robin Roysten

Harley's Dad 04-11-2007 01:36 AM

See my post about The Far Country by Nevil Shute - a book I thoroughly recommend, as I do anything written by him.
I read fairly quickly, on average two to five books a week, and I would find being deprived of reading almost impossible to bear.
As a former soldier I read a fair amount of military history, but I also read a wealth of other stuff, including novels by authors such as Maeve Binchy and, more recently, by Erica James - both of whom give me some sort of insight into the female psyche! On balance I find books by women display much more understanding of the sensitive side of human relationships - but perhaps this is not really so surprising?

I've just read HP 7 again for the third time.
I love that book too much.
It makes me cry masses =[
Want to read it again now.
And i don't want them to turn it in to a film, they'll blatantly just ruin it as usual.
