Thanks tamobhuuta and well done for going to therapy and trying your best.

Cacoethes 17-07-2024 04:48 PM

Thanks dawn, really appreciate it :)

Sorry to hear you're struggling so much. And I'm proud of you for managing so far. Can't be easy

Well done for going tamo

tamobhuuta 17-07-2024 04:55 PM

Thanks guys x

not_so_insig 17-07-2024 05:42 PM

Thanks Beckie.

one_step_closer 17-07-2024 06:17 PM

I went to get some food from Iceland but they didn't have pasta carbonara so that was sad. Then I was catching up with things for ages because I would usually just go to the chemist in the morning not on the bus to get shopping. Then I had a bit of time when I had finished everything and didn't know what to do but I managed to do some reading.

not_so_insig 17-07-2024 06:37 PM

That sucks that they didn't have pasta carbonara.

one_step_closer 17-07-2024 06:43 PM

I did get turkey burgers though, did you have them as a child? Now they are thinner and not as juicy but still ok.

not_so_insig 17-07-2024 06:46 PM

Yes I had turkey burgers as a child. That isn't so good that they're not as good as they used to be. I also had mini kievs.

tamobhuuta 17-07-2024 07:04 PM

Pizza for my dinner.

I wanted to do a self portrait so I tried taking some photos to work from, but even when I'm smiling I have the cold dead eyes of a killer :(

not_so_insig 17-07-2024 07:46 PM

That doesn't sound too good tamobhuuta. I am sure that you're not that bad.

tamobhuuta 18-07-2024 08:02 AM

Thanks insig!

Good morning all.

Cacoethes 18-07-2024 08:08 AM

Morning tamo!
How are you?

Auror. 18-07-2024 08:28 AM

hello

Cacoethes 18-07-2024 08:35 AM

Hi camden
How are you?

Auror. 18-07-2024 08:39 AM

awake. you?

Cacoethes 18-07-2024 08:45 AM

Still finding it hard to sleep?

I'm ok. Just waiting for a charity to pick up my sofa. They could come anytime between now and 12:30, which is rather annoying. It is 8:45am currently

Auror. 18-07-2024 08:49 AM

yea. oof. thats a huge time window. annoying.

Cacoethes 18-07-2024 08:51 AM

I hope you manage to get some rest at least

It is. And I don't want to sit on the sofa because I cleaned it and charities are very picky about what they take. So I'm sitting on the floor. Which tbh is surprisingly comfortable for a hard floor!

Auror. 18-07-2024 08:53 AM

oh no. is there nowhere else to sit and wait that is more comfy?

Cacoethes 18-07-2024 09:03 AM

Nope! Have to be here and all my other furniture has gone. Sofa is the last thing to go

Auror. 18-07-2024 09:06 AM

oh, are you moving?

Cacoethes 18-07-2024 10:03 AM

I am! Well, moved. I'm living with L (girlfriend) now. The tenancy here isn't officially up until the 9th August though so I had time to sort things. All pretty much done now. Painted yesterday. Just needs a good clean

long road 18-07-2024 11:14 AM

Morning everyone!

I am waiting for a call from my neuro OT. Meant to be around 12pm but she sometimes calls earlier and often calls later so am officially in waiting mode.

Hope your sofa has been picked up by now Beckie!

Cacoethes 18-07-2024 11:21 AM

Morning jen!
Hope you aren't waiting long!

It has literally just gone!
I can now get on with my day!

tamobhuuta 18-07-2024 11:32 AM

Is that all furniture gone then Cacoethes?

I hate waiting mode. Medical people are the worst.

Did you get some sleep Auror?

Ahead of my retreat day on Saturday I got the lunch box that attaches to the front of my backpack so I've got an extra pocket!

long road 18-07-2024 11:45 AM

Hooray for freedom form waiting mode Beckie!

Ooh modular backpack sounds cool Tamo!

Cacoethes 18-07-2024 12:29 PM

Yep, no furniture left!
Just have a box of hay in the cupboard to move over and that's everything. Then just need to paint the remaining wall which is a very small area and my neighbour can clean and I'm done and can hand the keys back.
I got a thank you card for the landlord that I'm hoping the letting agent can pass on. She's been a great landlord! I was very lucky!

That sounds very cool tamo!

one_step_closer 18-07-2024 01:22 PM

Hi everyone.

Do you think you'll miss your house, Beckie?

Hope you've had your call and it was helpful, Jen.

You need to get ALL the attachments, Tamo!

Cacoethes 18-07-2024 02:17 PM

Hi lindsay!

I will miss it. I lived there for 10 years. Longest I've lived in any one place!

How are you?

one_step_closer 18-07-2024 04:07 PM

Aww, you'll need to say a proper goodbye. And also scratch your name on a wall somewhere!

I'm struggling.

Cacoethes 18-07-2024 04:22 PM

Absolutely not scratching my name on a wall. Need that deposit back XD

Sorry to hear that. Can I do anything to help?

long road 18-07-2024 05:23 PM

OT Appointment was ok didn't have to wait too long she called at 12:35 pm. Did make me feel a bit wobbly emotionally and I rambled a bit. But OT was supportive and had a few good ideas

Had a late lunch of roast dinner and the garden centre cafe with my partner and now having coffee and cake that we picked up from the bakery.

Ahimsa 18-07-2024 05:36 PM

Evening everyone,

How are we all doing? I found out today I'm not being made redundant!! (The announcement of who was, was originally going to be made on the 30th and final days were going to be the 31st!!!)

That sounds lovely Jen, what type of cake?

Cacoethes 18-07-2024 05:41 PM

I'm glad the appointment was helpful jen
Your lunch sounds lovely!

Evening beth!
This is great news! Happy for you!

long road 18-07-2024 06:07 PM

Cherry and rhubarb slice. It was delicious!

I assume not being made redundant is a good thing Beth? As job is better than no job. Although by the sounds of it your job doesn't treat it's staff well.

one_step_closer 18-07-2024 06:08 PM

You could paint your name on a wall, take a photo, and paint over it. And it would kind of still be secretly there.

I'm just struggling in lots of ways these days. I wish my CPN would listen to me.

I'm glad you had a good chat with your OT, Jen. Lunch and cake sounds great.

That's good, Beth, as long as you think it's the best thing for you.

not_so_insig 18-07-2024 06:46 PM

Hello all. I have had the bin men come today so put mine and my neighbour's recycling boxes back (she had left for work before they came), started my cleaning this morning, went to the hearing voices group and done a bit more cleaning. I am struggling with stuff, but I still have a bit more cleaning to do so am trying to stay distracted.

Just wanted to check in because I didn't want people worrying about me through lack of seeing me post. I probably won't be around much today though.

That does sound delicious!! I'm glad you enjoyed.

We were told last week everyone was at risk, and asked for people to apply for voluntary redundancy. As enough people applied, my job is now safe.

I went through 80 pages of Indeed and the only things I could apply for, would mean a pay cut and a 30 minute drive to work (It's currently 7 minutes). I only get 40p above minimum wage, but its better than nothing - which is what everything else I could apply for would be.

Plus, I’ve got a lot of friends at work, more than I have in any other job, I don’t get bullied at work like I have in almost all my previous jobs, its local, I get 15 paid sick days a year, and one of my cats is on palliative care and I can sit with her when she comes round from tests and scans, and I get bereavement leave when the time comes. At the moment, staying is the best option.

Can we help at all OSC?

Cacoethes 19-07-2024 07:55 AM

Morning everyone

Ahimsa 19-07-2024 08:06 AM

Morning Beckie,

How're you?

It's really early and I'm super tired, but the joiner is coming to fix the disintegrating floorboards at 8:30

Cacoethes 19-07-2024 08:17 AM

Morning beth

I'm ok thanks

Being up early sucks. But it's good you will no longer have disintegrating floorboards!

Ahimsa 19-07-2024 08:47 AM

It is always a positive!

What're you up to?

Cacoethes 19-07-2024 09:06 AM

It is!
Have you got anything else on today?

Not a lot atm! Need to get moving.
Have to do the house stuff like washing up and sorting the washing out, go to lidl, pick up a 2g2g bag if it's not cancelled, wait for cc to call, call UC people to clarify some things. Think that's it.

tamobhuuta 19-07-2024 09:28 AM

Morning guys. Wishing you well with your days. I'm just getting ready for my Carmelite day tomorrow.

Cacoethes 19-07-2024 09:32 AM

Morning tamo
Hope you have a successful day and get everything sorted!

tamobhuuta 19-07-2024 09:34 AM

Thanks. It's already hot!

Cacoethes 19-07-2024 09:39 AM

It is! Meant to get up to 30-31 today! D:

That sounds busy!

So far I've mowed the grass, tidied the living room, started to sort the unit in my bedroom, cut down some overhanging trees, and cleaned the fireplace.

I've got a work meeting at 1 (I'm on annual leave but everyone has to be there or on Zoom, even the nurse who's on holiday in Spain!) and then gonna try to to York to see my piercer as I've been trying to for a fortnight but been too busy, one of my earrings has gone a bit weird and I think its maybe the bar being too big?

I still need to go to Aldi, vacuum the living room, ideally finish some of the painting, depending how that goes I can do the wallpapering, and vacuum my bedroom. I do still have 2 doors to varnish too but I ran out of varnish so need to wait for the new one to arrive.

Tamo, what's a Carmelite day?

tamobhuuta 19-07-2024 10:21 AM

Well done!

It's a day for us Secular Carmelites in the south east ri get together for a couple of talks and prayer time and socialising. It's a retreat squished into one day!
