not_so_insig 01-01-2024 04:25 PM

It's a Four Tops tribute band Jenna.

tamobhuuta 01-01-2024 04:26 PM

Thanks Pi. How are you?

long road 01-01-2024 04:36 PM

I had a shower! Ran out of energy this morning and went back to bed around 11:30am but managed to get myself up again and shower and change into clean PJ's. Now to find something to watch on the TV

one_step_closer 01-01-2024 04:44 PM

My cold seems to be getting worse not better. Sorry you're unwell too, Beth.

How are you getting on with your tasks, Jenna?

Look after yourself, NP.

Have you managed to move yet, Lio, or are you getting comfy?!

I have never heard of Four Tops, Dawn.

Well done for all you're trying, Tamo. I hope you feel better.

Well done, Jen. *high five* Found anything good on the TV?

long road 01-01-2024 04:50 PM

I decided to watch Suits. Never watched it before but have found clips entertaining so giving it a go.

Sympathy to all the ill people's. I am glad colds are not transmissible through the internet

one_step_closer 01-01-2024 04:57 PM

I would feel so guilty if I passed my cold onto you, Jen! Hope you can get into Suits.

Jen and Jenna are such close names, I just realised that!

not_so_insig 01-01-2024 05:02 PM

Four Tops are a band that were most popular in the 1960s though they had hits in the 1970s and 1980s Lindsay. They are associated with Motown.

one_step_closer 01-01-2024 05:04 PM

Oh right. Have you decided if you're going to get tickets?

We are Jen twins!

not_so_insig 01-01-2024 05:21 PM

I have booked the concert Lindsay. Front row seat too.

Pi.R^2 01-01-2024 05:34 PM

Bother - I already went to google Four Tops before finding that you'd explained them later on here. Hope you enjoy the show - hooray for front row seats!

Lindsay - one time me and Jen had matching Jen Patrol badges at a meet! Also my tasks are going well. Need to clean the washing machine drawer thingy next, how displeasing.

one_step_closer 01-01-2024 07:16 PM

Jen twins sounds like you should sing together!

Front row seats will be amazing, Dawn. :)

I admit I rarely clean the washing machine drawer because I can't be bothered diluting the stuff that cleans the whole machine.

Pi.R^2 01-01-2024 07:19 PM

I have to confess that the draw thing was all black/mouldy so it seemed wise to tackle it! I don't even OWN the stuff for cleaning the washing machine, that's what a state I am :P

How are you Lindsay?

Ahimsa 01-01-2024 07:47 PM

Hi all,

Sorry I've been quiet, I went out for a walk for fresh air and still don't feel particularly well. I'm going to have some dinner and sort my scrubs for tomorrow and go to bed as I'll be at work by 7:30am!

Hope everyones doing okay?

maii 01-01-2024 07:58 PM

Hi all - happy new year.

And yes, Pi.R^2; Cacoethes and LR ... you were spot on regarding the ball drop in NY

one_step_closer 01-01-2024 08:39 PM

I clean my washing machine every 3 months because I am sensible and do all the things you are meant to do every 3 months!

Still feeling really unwell. I hope I don't actually have Covid, I didn't test because I forgot it was a thing.

I hope you don't feel too unwell tomorrow, Beth.

Ooh, ball drop looks exciting!

maii 01-01-2024 08:51 PM

Hope you feel better soon, osc and Ahimsa, please take good care of yourselves.

Yeah, I only watched it this morning on youtube because I went to bed early last night.

not_so_insig 01-01-2024 10:05 PM

I clean my washing machine once every 10 days because the thing has a cleaning cycle which activates then. It comes on automatically and I can't override it. The only downside is that the cleaning cycle takes 2 and a half hours so can't do any washing until it's complete.

Pi.R^2 01-01-2024 10:26 PM

*Dramatic gasp* I feel shamed for my poor washing machine maintenance practices :P

Pi.R^2 02-01-2024 10:30 AM

Morning thread! Hope everyone has slept well :)

Zurg 02-01-2024 10:40 AM

Morning Jenna.
We seem to have another storm. And tomorrow it's going to snow too, so blizzards :D That'll justify staying inside and not going anywhere. Win!!!
Do you have anything exciting happening today??

Pi.R^2 02-01-2024 11:25 AM

Ooh, sounds like very chaotic weather! Glad it gives you a chance to stay inside =D What will you get up to?

I'm back to work tomorrow so today is my epic planning and marking day. I have 18 main tasks to do, and I've so far done one of them...

tamobhuuta 02-01-2024 11:42 AM

Hi Zurg and Pi. I hope you have good days. It's pissing it down here.

one_step_closer 02-01-2024 11:43 AM

Morning everyone.

I quite like storms but don't really like being forced to stay in. Glad it's an ok thing for you though, Kat!

18 tasks, Jenna! Are you trying to compete with Beth's epic lists? Good luck. I hope you have time for nice things too.

one_step_closer 02-01-2024 11:44 AM

Hi ninja, Tamo. Hope your day is ok. Are you getting any visitors?

tamobhuuta 02-01-2024 11:47 AM

My Dad is visiting at 11am and Mum or L this evening. I am ok, can't wait to meet our new cat. How are you?

one_step_closer 02-01-2024 11:57 AM

That's such a good thing to have to look forward to. In the meantime make sure you get to see lots of photos and videos.

I'm feeling physically a bit better than yesterday I think. Just bought loads of Kindle books from my wish list because they were reduced to 99p.

Zurg 02-01-2024 11:57 AM

Well, having to stay inside provides the perfect opportunity to…. Nap!!! :D
But today i have to venture outside. Got group therapy and a bit of shopping. The wind has made me decide not to ride my bike, though. So bus it is :(
18 main tasks???!!!?!! Blimey!!! That's a lot!!!

one_step_closer 02-01-2024 11:58 AM

Hope everything goes well today, Kat. When will you get back home after your tasks?

Pi.R^2 02-01-2024 01:06 PM

Oh no that you still need to leave the house despite the weather! Bus instead of bike sounds wise.

Morning tamo, hope you've had a nice visit with your dad.

Lindsay, glad you're feeling better today and yay for bargain books!

I've only done two tasks. Need to pick up the pace =S

tamobhuuta 02-01-2024 02:36 PM

I had a good time with my dad. My job for today was to have a hairwash which I have achieved. But I have a missed call and answer phone from the leader of my prayer group which I'm nervous about returning.

Well done on 2 jobs Pi!

Gotta love book bargains osc.

I hope the buses are behaving themselves Zurg.

not_so_insig 02-01-2024 03:31 PM

Afternoon all. I am trying to find homes for my presents. So far I keep on getting distracted.

tamobhuuta 02-01-2024 04:42 PM

I have no shelves for clothes in my hospital room. Does leaving Christmas presents on the floor count as finding a home?

one_step_closer 02-01-2024 04:47 PM

You being more speedy with your tasks yet, Jenna? Do you really have to do every single one today?

Well done, Tamo. I hope you can make the call and it goes well. Do you need all the clothes or can you maybe give some to your Mum or Dad?

Maybe you need more storage, Dawn!

tamobhuuta 02-01-2024 05:05 PM

I am considering that osc. How's your day shaping up?

long road 02-01-2024 05:12 PM

Hey everyone,

Sorry not got energy reply to you all but know I am thinking of you all and your tasks.

My asthma has been playing up, been to see Nurse and my GP and we are in the take meds when I need them and see how things go stage. It's tiring being ill.

tamobhuuta 02-01-2024 05:50 PM

Sorry your asthma is causing you problems lr. I hope you get well soon!

Ahimsa 02-01-2024 05:56 PM

Evening all!!

Hope everyone's okay? I've just finished work and it's dark - and it was dark when I started too ☹️ the office has no windows!

not_so_insig 02-01-2024 06:00 PM

I have now managed to find homes for everything now. Just gotta put my clothes away and find a temporary home for the cardboard that I have accumulated. We have a plastic bag for our cardboard and that's full. The council won't take cardboard if it's not in the bag. I have a lot of plastic too but that's less of a problem as it's fitting in my recycling box.

tamobhuuta 02-01-2024 06:19 PM

Oh dear, that's very gloomy Ahimsa.

Well done insig :)

tamobhuuta 02-01-2024 06:45 PM

I think I've got a visit at 6 but I don't know who. Probably L.

Well done insig :)

I know right! I'll next see daylight on Saturday :(

tamobhuuta 02-01-2024 06:49 PM

That's a long way away!

not_so_insig 02-01-2024 07:05 PM

Thanks tamobhuuta.

tamobhuuta 02-01-2024 07:09 PM

What are you up to this evening?

one_step_closer 02-01-2024 07:14 PM

Very annoying, Jen. :( I hope you are ok for the rest of the day.

I would hate that, Beth. It should at least be a rule that there should be windows.

I always have so much cardboard, Dawn. Well done for finding places for everything.

Hope you have a nice visit, Tamo.

tamobhuuta 02-01-2024 07:16 PM

Mum says it's L coming and she left ages ago...

one_step_closer 02-01-2024 07:20 PM

I hope she arrives soon. I know that would worry me.

not_so_insig 02-01-2024 07:50 PM

Thanks Lindsay. It was fortunate that most of it was food which has gone in my pantry. Other than that I have got a lot of books which are currently on my bedroom chest of drawers. I had planned to read one over the holidays but I spent too much time asleep.

Pi.R^2 02-01-2024 08:07 PM

Hope L arrived tamo!

Dawn I got overly excited to learn that your plastic and paper go separate; ours both go in our blue bin here.

How is everyone this evening?
