Ooh I haven't had a satsuma in ages. I must buy some.

Wonderland. 15-01-2017 07:58 PM

Thanks, I'm a bit clumsy when it comes to running on a treadmill so it's taking me a while to get used to and then there the fact that I'm just completely unfit! But I'm getting there which makes me happy :)

I hope you both enjoy Sherlock later!

It'll be lovely if it stays dry for your walk Lorraine, wrap up warm though.

Satsumas are nommy.

Sketchy 15-01-2017 08:04 PM

Sounds like you are making progress on it. I'd like to be able to run at some point, but just now I'm sticking to walking. I can always walk fast. I'll definitely be wrapping up warm. It's so cold up here just now.

What are you doing this evening?

Cacoethes 15-01-2017 08:14 PM

That's great amy! I should start exercising more really.
I wouldn't be able to do 10 minutes on a treadmill!
I'm so unfit since I stopped working.

Wonderland. 15-01-2017 08:27 PM

I'm just watching Midsomer right now, and going through some stuff to chuck out. I have far too much stuff!

It's easier than I thought to start running, I just do intervals of walking and running. Just started off at 1 min walk/1 min run then just repeat the cycle for 10 mins. And then just up the amount of time you run in between walking.

Walking is good exercise.

Sketchy 15-01-2017 08:30 PM

That sounds like a good way to approach it Amy.

Tomorrow I'm going to walk around the park and go into the glass house to look at the fish. I'd quite like to draw them.

Wonderland. 15-01-2017 08:32 PM

Your park has fish!

Drawing is cool! Wish I was as good at it like I used to be.

Sketchy 15-01-2017 08:36 PM

Yes. It also has reptiles. I need to keep drawing more. I used to work as a freelance artist before I became too unwell to work, mainly doing community projects, teaching workshops, so art is important to me.

not_so_insig 15-01-2017 08:45 PM

Hi there! I have been out all afternoon nowhere much though just to a few garden centres. Didn't spend anything except on food and wine.

Sketchy 15-01-2017 08:50 PM

I hope you had a nice afternoon Dawn. Food and wine is always a good purchase. :)

Wonderland. 15-01-2017 08:53 PM

Aww thats awesome! We used to have reptiles and colourful parrots and other birds in two of my local parks but they stopped funding for it a few years back :( it's a shame as everyone loved going to see them.

Is there anything in particular you like to draw Lorraine? Wow I never knew you used to be an artist, how wonderful!

Hey Dawn :) garden centers can be lovely to have a mooch around in.

Sketchy 15-01-2017 08:58 PM

I enjoy drawing the spiders and insects in the reptile house. I also enjoy landscapes, and representational random drawings. I also do some abstract painting. I have a blog, but it's been a while since I've updated it, so I need to get some work done.

That's a shame your park stopped funding. I think having good parks is important for communities. I'm so lucky I live near so many, including a country park that has highland cows. Oh, I must draw them.

Cacoethes 15-01-2017 09:04 PM

I used to love drawing. I used to be fairly good but have lost that ability it seems!
It'd be great if you could start it up again Lorraine, drawing can be so relaxing and therapeutic!

Garden centres sounds good dawn!
I used to love going to them with my mum. We used to do it a lot.

Sketchy 15-01-2017 09:08 PM

I'm sure if you were to practice the ability would come back to you.

Not long until Sherlock. I'm excited after last weeks episode.

Wonderland. 15-01-2017 09:09 PM

Ooh I like abstract art. We studied a lot of abstract artists when I did my GCSE art, and I loved it.

Aww you should so draw the highland cows, and the little calfs when they get born as well.

I'll put that on my to draw list. That particular park is so big I panic if I go through it alone, so I'll get my sister to come along with me.
I found this photo of them from my last visit.

Wonderland. 15-01-2017 09:15 PM

Highland cows have got to be the cutest cows ever, all that shaggy hair <3

Cacoethes 15-01-2017 09:16 PM

Highland cows are definitely the cutest breed of cow!

Sketchy 15-01-2017 09:19 PM

They are cute, but I remember the cow on the right kept pushing the other cow by nudging her head against the other cows bum. The poor thing was being shoved along. I guess we know who the boss is.

Cacoethes 15-01-2017 09:35 PM

Awww poor thing!
Horses are similar, there is a clear hierarchy with our lot!

Sketchy 15-01-2017 09:39 PM

There are horses in the same park but they've always been quiet. Some of them look pretty old though.

not_so_insig 15-01-2017 09:45 PM

We have a country park with animals in the county but due to transport issues I have only been once and that was years ago. Apparently they have llamas.

Sketchy 15-01-2017 09:47 PM

Wow llamas sound good. It's a shame it's difficult for you to get there.

not_so_insig 15-01-2017 09:52 PM

Yes there's 6 country parks in the county but only one has a good bus service. I have been around it but it's not very fun on your own and don't drive.

Sketchy 15-01-2017 09:54 PM

I understand that. I much prefer going to the park with my sister or my friend.

Well, I'm going to log off for a bit to watch Sherlock, but I'll likely be back soon.

Cacoethes 15-01-2017 09:58 PM

I'm off to watch sherlock too!

Serendipity. 15-01-2017 10:37 PM

Enjoy Sherlock!

Lovely photo Lorraine, Highland cows are awesome!

I'm waiting for my bus to Scotland, I have like an hour to wait though and I'm bored already! Not sure how I will cope with my 12 hour + bus journey haha!

Cacoethes 15-01-2017 10:49 PM

Hi Hannah!

That sounds like it's going to be a tedious journey!!

Serendipity. 15-01-2017 10:54 PM

Hi Beckie! How are you?

It will!! Normally I don't mind too much but I'm feeling antsy! Will be worth it though!

Cacoethes 15-01-2017 11:15 PM

I'm ok thanks! Very tired but determined to make it until the end of Sherlock!!

Have you got any films downloaded or anything?
Should make the journey go faster!

Wonderland. 15-01-2017 11:26 PM

Can you sleep for some of it Hannah?

Got any nice plans for Scotland lovely?

Sketchy 15-01-2017 11:45 PM

Hannah I hope your journey on the bus goes by quickly. Are you coming to Scotland for a holiday or are you from here? I hope you have a good time.

Buttons. 16-01-2017 08:17 AM

Hope the journey isn't too tedious and you enjoy your time in Scotland Hannah :)

Can't wait for this house inspection to be over-so anxious but at least after today provided I pass (which I should-lot of effort put in) should be quite a while until next one, and I have vague plans to go into town and treat myself tomorrow even if I just have a bit of a potter to get out and about (must resist Primarni though :P).

Cacoethes 16-01-2017 01:13 PM

Hope you enjoy your time in Scotland Hannah!!

I know what you mean Katy. I always get incredibly anxious with house inspections! Mine are every 3 months.
Going into town and treating yourself sounds like a good plan!
And whatever you do, do not go into primark!!!

not_so_insig 16-01-2017 02:32 PM

I am waiting for a parcel from amazon. It could come any time between now and 9 pm. I hate waiting in for couriers but you can guarantee that if I go out then it will come.

Cacoethes 16-01-2017 02:56 PM

That's so annoying Dawn!
I hate waiting in for parcels too.

Buttons. 16-01-2017 03:15 PM

Dawn defo sods law re. packages! The one sec you're out they'll turn up 0.o

Not glad you feel this way inspection-wise but glad am not alone Beckie. She (inspector) has actually just been for a lot shorter than usual (MASSIVE RELIEF) and I asked her directly whether she'd found any problems and she said no so *fingers crossed*

not_so_insig 16-01-2017 03:37 PM

Yes and then I will have the fun of getting it to work once it arrives.

not_so_insig 16-01-2017 03:42 PM

Hopefully that it will be ok Katy. 2 years ago the council decided to do housing inspections. They ask all sorts of questions too (such as are you subject to bedroom tax which I thought that they would already know).

Sketchy 16-01-2017 03:45 PM

Good afternoon all. I hope your inspection goes well Katy.

tiptoes 16-01-2017 03:58 PM

Afternoon All!

Sketchy 16-01-2017 03:59 PM

Good afternoon. How are you?

tiptoes 16-01-2017 04:02 PM

Rather drained but otherwise ok!!

how about you?

Sketchy 16-01-2017 04:03 PM

I hope you are taking time to relax then. I'm ok. Just having a cup of tea in my local coffee shop. I was out walking but it's raining.

tiptoes 16-01-2017 04:05 PM

I am, curled up on the sofa with tea and blankets and tv! :-)

That sounds lovely, the rain is awful today. Here even when it stops raining raining it is like being trapped to persistent damp mist. I need to go out again but don't really want to face the weather!

Sketchy 16-01-2017 04:08 PM

That sounds like a lovely way to spend the afternoon. I don't blame you for not wanting to go out.

Buttons. 16-01-2017 04:15 PM

Sofa+tea etc sounds like a WIN.

Cacoethes 16-01-2017 04:25 PM

Hi everyone!

Just back from asda. I swear I spend half my life in that bloody shop!
I agree that sounds like a brilliant afternoon Sarah!

I need to do some homework for English tomorrow. It's all practice tests really which I cba to do.
I feel like my time would be better spent on maths. My English teacher said he has no doubt that I'll pass the exams anyway. (Now watch me fail them! Haha!)

Sketchy 16-01-2017 04:28 PM

Beckie, I'm sure you will do well. You are working so hard.

I'm off to Asda when I finish my second cup of tea in here. I need to pluck up courage to go there, but I want to use my gift card my dad gave me to buy some clothes at George as well as groceries.

Buttons. 16-01-2017 04:32 PM

^ I love so many George clothes, hope you find some good bargains :)
