Yum. Chocolates! :)
|
That's nice of your neighbour Lins :)
That sounds awesome Beckie, and illusive brother is doing a good job-Jasmine must learn about Marvel characters, it's key!!! Wine, chocolate, cheese, sounds awesome set up Lorraine! I'm watching a bit of Calendar girls with a dog who is clinging to me like a limpet because she was very naughty earlier on and I had to tell her off so now she won't leave my side like muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuum I'm sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooorry. I forgave about 6 or more hours ago but she's still keen to cling. I feel mean but she has to know what's acceptable and what isn't. And nicking half my sandwhich and a few other offences is not acceptable :P |
Thanks Buttons.
Poor doggy, but she has to learn. Are you having a nice Boxing Day Buttons? |
Yes she does. I think because I so rarely have to tell her off beyond a reminder not to be too boisterous with people coming in the door or being too excitable when out on a walk wanting to make friends with EVERYBODY AND EVERYTHING it gave her a bit of a shock, but hopefully like with little children, because I so rarely raise my voice it will make her remember oh yes that's not acceptable.
Yes I'm okay thanks, got some food in then had a relax with a support worker who was telling me more about Nigeria and she said that when I'd taught her a bit of sign language last time she was here it had come in handy with another client who when she said how are you and my name is x in sign the person flew at her and hugged her as nobody else who visited her had bothered to try and speak in her language. Caused a slight issue because G then had to explain that's about all I know in sign but once the girl knew that she was fine and apparently beamed from ear to ear that someone had actually signed to her, which was a lovely thing to know :) Now just chillaxing after a spagetti and meatball ready meal. |
That sounds so good that she spoke sign language. Very helpful of you.
Spaghetti sounds good! I’m chilaxing too! That’s what Boxing Day is for. |
We've made a deal, she'll teach me some more of her native language and I'll teach her a bit more sign :)
It was more the meatballs that were epic tbh :P Glad you're also chillaxing:) |
That sound like a good deal. It’s always good to learn a new language.
I’m looking forward to tomorrow. Sister is at work, so I’m going over to watch the cat all day. She’s so adorable. I look forward to kitty hugs. |
Yeah it's really interesting. Where she comes from in Nigeria her 'village' has thousands of people and they all have separate dialects in their communities within a community if that makes sense, but they also have a common tongue so they can communicate with each other when trading etc.
Aww kitty cuddles!!!!! That sounds like a lovely day :) |
That sounds really interesting. Is it a difficult language to learn?
It will be lovely day. Haven’t seen kitty since Christmas Eve. |
It's hard to get my mouth round some of the words so she's written a few key phrases out phonetically to make it easier :P It made me realise how well she's done to speak English as well as she does because the two languages sound so very different from each other, and she lived in Italy for a while so she knows Italian as well-very clever woman!
I bet she'll give you extra cuddles to make up for a few days :) |
That’s impressive.
I expect lots of kitty cuddles. She is very cuddly! Any plans for tomorrow? |
Hey guys
Back home now! |
Hi Beckie.
Have you had a nice Boxing Day? |
We had snow lying this morning. Nice!
|
Its been lovely Thanks!
How about you? Its just pouring down with rain here! |
I’m having a lazy Boxing Day in the flat with wine and chocolates. My uncle bought me a big box of Thornton’s chocolates.
Glad you had a nice time. Is Jasmine happy with what Santa brought her? I hope she enjoyed herself. |
Welcome home Beckie :) Seems like you've had a really good time :)
|
Lazy day is good!
I have a ton of chocolate now! Currently munching on some after eights. Jasmine is very happy with what she got :) Thanks Buttons! We did have a really good time. How are you? |
After eights are yummy.
|
They are indeed!
|
Glad Jasmine (and you) had such a good time :) I told my support worker (the Nigerian lady) what a beautiful daughter you had, and we also talked about my other support worker's little girl and how when we'd gone to Tesco she bought her a gorgeous little Elsa onsie from Frozen which I'm sure she loved. She's 3 so it's the first Christmas she's kind of got the concept :P
I've gone back to Game of Thrones, am on series 5. WINTER IS COMING. |
Thanks :)
Aww kids really make Christmas! And every kid loves Frozen!! Jas also got an Elsa duvet set. Game of thrones ftw!!! A brother has just started reading the books |
Enjoy your game of thrones.
I just watched mrs browns boys. It was funny. Going to see what’s on Netflix now. |
Was that last nights one Lorraine?
Love mrs browns boys! |
Yes it was. We didn’t watch it last night because my sister doesn’t like it.
|
Only me and my nanny liked it but as it was nannys house, she overruled everyone! Lol! :p
No one really minded though tbh |
Yeah every kid seems to love Frozen. The duvet set sounds lovely :)
I love the books (as you can see by my dress that my mum got me in the pic thread) but I have to admit I think it's one of the very rare occasions where the TV series is better than the books. Ha ha glad you watched something funny Lorraine :) If you want something Christmassey Miracle on 34th street is on Netflix (the newer version) I watched it the other day. |
Ha ha grandmas have a tendency to rule over everything, especially the TV remote, my grandma is the same :P
|
All the church peace and love stuff goes out of the window if cricket or strictly come dancing is on :P
|
Haha! That is true!
I suppose the older you get, the more authority you have!! She's not much into the churchy stuff luckily! All your clothes are amazing buttons! |
That’s good your nanny likes it.
It feels weird now Christmas is over and being back in the flat. It was over very quickly. Just new year to get through now. I have no idea what I’m doing for that. Usually spend it with sister but she’s working it this year. |
I think I’ll watch something not Christmassy for a change thanks Buttons. Not too keen on that film.
|
Yes, my grandma is not even 5 foot (not that she'll admit that) and she definitely controls life the universe and everything when in a room :P She's so lovely though and I'm so grateful to have her, plus she can be surprisingly witty which is always fun :)
It does feel a bit weird now it's all over. Tbf I don't have plans for new year yet either so we can maybe have a party in this thread (I'll pass out the champagne at midnight :P) |

Friendship over Lorraine (isn't it fun Beckie when it's not you I'm threatening :P)
|
Your granny sounds brilliant Buttons.
A party in this thread sounds good! I’m up for that! |
Noooooooooooo please be my friend!!!!!
|
I agree with you Lorraine that Christmas seems to have passed quickly, but I find most days are so quick. Do you know what you'd like to do for new year? Maybe do some more indulging yourself. :-)
My brother got the train about an hour ago. His partner didn't pick him up and I am an anxious driver and only drive very short distances to places I know. I feel like a terrible sister! He wasn't keen on getting the train. |
How did all these replies happen in between what I read and what I posted? Too slow Lindsay.
|
Nope it's over you've had it Lorraine :P
Beckie will be my new best friend in the thread (God help me) And you may not be invited to the party *sniffs and walks/rolls off* :P |
Lins I'm sure your brother will be just fine *Hugs gently* although I don't know why I'm being nice to you after the pic thread comment which you still haven't clarified!!!

I’m sure your brother will be fine on the train. You are a good sister.
Indulging sounds a good idea. My sister got me lovely pampering stuff and a mini bottle of prosecco for Christmas. I’ll maybe use that then. |
*throws tantrum *
|
My nanny isn't even 5ft either!
She knows she's short though. Think she said she's 4ft 10 or something! It is weird now its all over! My new year tradition is getting an indian takeaway and generally in bed by 10! Wooo getting crazy up in here! :p My other grandparents have an Alexa voice thing and that was fun to play with. They have more gadgets than I do. Its wrong! Dont feel bad Lindsay! Its perfectly reasonable to not want to do something that you know will make you anxious! |
Jeez this thread is busy tonight!
|
It is busy, which is good.
|
Buttons, I just had a brain blank when I tried to reply to your dress post but I wanted to say something so I decided to say nothing!
|
Alright Lorraine if you're going to tantrum, naughty step you go on :P
Ha ha sounds like a good tradition Beckie. Also I feel that way about my mum, everytime I go round she's got a new piece of technology and I'm like say what now? |
Lins I might forgive you, with time and counselling
