Just caught up on the thread properly.

HOORAY BABY EMUS!!!!!
Hope you get work schedule fixed Beckie, hope it's just the new guy making a silly mistake.

Good to hear your appointment went ok Dawn. Hope you can enjoy seeing your parents tonight.

Glad Gym went ok Lindsay, maybe support work was trying to help transition you? Do you get to use any fun equipment at the gym or just stuff like weights and treadmills?

nonperson 15-08-2023 05:48 PM

Were the baby emus all stripey?!

Cacoethes 15-08-2023 05:58 PM

The baby emus were indeed stripy!!!
So adorable.
And also reminded me of the time i was fully prepared to buy some baby emus. They were about ?20 each on a website. This was when i had an episode of the zoomies about 10 years ago. I was going to keep them in my bath (in my 1 bed house....)

Glad the gym was ok!

nonperson 15-08-2023 06:00 PM

Did you not realise at the time what size they grow to be? O.o

Cacoethes 15-08-2023 06:05 PM

I definitely realised!
I just wasn't particularly rational at that point! Or really capable of thinking of consequences XD

nonperson 15-08-2023 06:08 PM

I think one emu would fit ok in a bath tub...

Cacoethes 15-08-2023 06:09 PM

Yes, but it would be lonely by itself!

one_step_closer 15-08-2023 06:11 PM

I didn't know emus were stripy!

Yes, I just do the treadmill and then mat stuff.

long road 15-08-2023 06:12 PM

Buy another bath tub? XD

Only the baby ones are stripy if I remember correctly Lindsay.

I have never been in an actual gym with weights a machines and all that. I have done the odd yoga class, and various team sports although not for a while.

one_step_closer 15-08-2023 06:16 PM

I now need to look up pictures of baby emus. Would one fit in a shower?

Cacoethes 15-08-2023 06:19 PM

I have absolutely nowhere to fit another bath XD

One could fit in a shower (a baby one) but it wouldn't be very happy!

nonperson 15-08-2023 06:20 PM

A baby one would =)

nonperson 15-08-2023 06:20 PM

What Beckie said.

Cacoethes 15-08-2023 06:57 PM

I don't think the guinea pigs would be overly pleased about sharing the house with an emu

Pi.R^2 15-08-2023 07:35 PM

Oh god, I come in and see mention of baby emus and I was like NO ONE ENCOURAGE BECKIE ABOUT EMUS

Cacoethes 15-08-2023 08:09 PM

Ah. I see jenna remembers that fateful day...

Cacoethes 15-08-2023 08:38 PM

So i told L about the 'emu incident' and she said she nearly bought a calf last year.
We are literally perfect together XD

nonperson 15-08-2023 08:40 PM

Orrr potentially a bad influence on each other!

Pi.R^2 15-08-2023 08:46 PM

Oh lol, what a pair!! This is just adding to the evidence of you being my favourite couple.

long road 15-08-2023 08:47 PM

As long as L has a garden a calf and a small herd of emu would be fine!

Cacoethes 15-08-2023 08:58 PM

She does have a decent sized garden at her house!
I've been threatening to slowly fill it with at least 50 guinea pigs

Jenna, i absolutely love that we're your favourite couple XD

long road 15-08-2023 09:07 PM

Aww!!!! I have a lovely image in my head of guineas playing in the grass together and lots of excited wheek noises! What's the collective noun for a group of guinea pigs?

I am tired but wired again. Am listening to sea shanty's and folk music. Trying to channel the chill vibes.

Cacoethes 16-08-2023 06:15 AM

They honestly love it!
I have a pen that could go on my grass (supervised because it's in the open) but my grass has load of ragwort and dasies on it, which are toxic to them :(

I think it's a herd! That's what everyone on the guinea groups refer to them as.

Hope you managed some sleep!

Morning!

long road 16-08-2023 08:18 AM

Morning Beckie!

Sucks your guineas cant go exploring because of poisonous plants. And I guess you can't put weed killer down because then they couldn't eat the grass for months.

Just had mental image of a person trying to herd guinea pigs XD

I actually managed a pretty good sleep. Got around 7 and a half hours.

Woken up feeling like I might finally be on the mend, still got asthma symptoms but better than this last week.

How are you today?

Cacoethes 16-08-2023 08:30 AM

Morning!

Exactly! And they can't go on when the grass has just been cut either!

That would probably be incredibly difficult XD

That is good news!

I'm ok. Need to go to aldi and i have a consultation for botox (i may not be able to get it for the reason i want it, hence consultation!) So a bit random.
So not a great deal to do!

long road 16-08-2023 08:37 AM

Bless their little sensitive souls. Maybe you can get some turf and grow it in the bath XD

It would be very funny to watch though XD

Well I hope consultation goes well and isn't too costly. Will you be getting any treats at Aldi?

Talking of treats I had toasted fruit loaf for breakfast again *chefs kiss*

Cacoethes 16-08-2023 08:41 AM

I was planning to grow a little patch of grass for them! It's so easy!

The consultation is free :)

Idk. I mainly need to get stuff for the boys and baking ingredients.

Yessss!

long road 16-08-2023 09:29 AM

Aww thats lovely! I see many happy wheeks in your future!

Great the consultation is free.

Maybe you could bake something for yourself as well as for L and S? Like a mini one of the same cake? Or try that bang bang chicken thing you liked the other day?

#fruitloaf4eva

Cacoethes 16-08-2023 09:36 AM

I'm sure there will be!

Yeah, i think it's probably only a 10 min thing to see what, if anything, can be done.

That chicken is awesome tbf.

Absolutely!

long road 16-08-2023 09:39 AM

Winner winner bang bang chicken dinner!
...
...
Sorry I couldn't resist XD

Pi.R^2 16-08-2023 09:52 AM

What are you baking Beckie? Morning all!

tamobhuuta 16-08-2023 09:56 AM

Morning people. I slept relatively well even though I didn't have PRN yesterday :)

long road 16-08-2023 10:07 AM

Morning Jenna and Tamo,

How are you both today? Any exciting plans?

That's good that you slept better than expected Tamo. Sleep is awesome and very necessary!

tamobhuuta 16-08-2023 10:10 AM

No plans, just normal everyday stuff. What are you up to?

tamobhuuta 16-08-2023 10:10 AM

Hi Pi!

long road 16-08-2023 10:21 AM

Still taking it easy. Currently listening to some Taylor Swift and browsing the interwebz.

Partners sister is coming over again this afternoon to help with chores and hang out with me so partner can get some respite from caring for me and some love and support. Which should be good we all get on really well.

tamobhuuta 16-08-2023 10:32 AM

I'm glad you all get on.
I don't really know Taylor Swift. What will I have heard of hers?

not_so_insig 16-08-2023 10:36 AM

Morning all. For the past 2 days I have been feeling really tired thankfully today I only feel a tiny bit tired. Hopefully today I will be able to stay awake.

I was supposed to go wild swimming but the person I go with has cancelled because she's unwell.

Cacoethes 16-08-2023 10:37 AM

Had to be done jen XD

I am baking a simple chocolate cake!
For L and S. S loves cake. And i like baking.

Glad you slept well tamo!

That's nice of her jen!

long road 16-08-2023 10:56 AM

Hmm so many Taylor Swift songs so hard to think (she has a very big back catalogue). I expect you will have heard Blank Space, Shake it Off, 22 and I knew You Were Trouble. These were are all big in the early 2010's. As for recent stuff you probably have heard Anti Hero.

Glad you have more energy today Dawn, perhaps a rest day from swimming will help you get back to not tired at all.

Glad you appreciate my terrible sense of humour Beckie XD

Baking is such fun!

His family are really close, his Dad was in the military when they were kids so they moved around a lot and only had each other as the constant. They are lovely people although even ten years into getting to know them they can sometimes be too much for me!!

tamobhuuta 16-08-2023 10:58 AM

Yes, I know some of those, they're quite fun.

long road 16-08-2023 11:00 AM

Her music is fitting the vibe I am feeling today, a bit more energetic.

I even managed a few gentle physio exercises this morning. Didn't do the whole set but was really nice to stretch out a little bit and help with my FND muscle tension.

tamobhuuta 16-08-2023 11:02 AM

That's really positive :)

one_step_closer 16-08-2023 11:37 AM

Hey everyone.

Glad to hear what you're managing today, Jen.

Hope everyone has a good day.

I have been to the chemist and Lidl. Went to a charity shop and got a book I have already read! Done a washing and hoovered.

long road 16-08-2023 11:38 AM

Definitely positive :-D :-D

I am really hoping it lasts

long road 16-08-2023 11:40 AM

Ninja Lindsay!

Did you give the book away but the book is so good you wanted to reread it Lindsay? What book was it?

one_step_closer 16-08-2023 11:44 AM

The book is The Choice by Edith Eger. I just wasn't sure if I had read it or if it was on my wish list. I will give it to Tesco for their charity bookshelf when I have more books to donate.

Pi.R^2 16-08-2023 11:44 AM

Ooh sounds good Beckie, hope the cake goes down well (sounds like it will!)

Jen - favourite song from Midnight? Guess who is seeing her at Wembley next year!!!!!!

Lindsay - was buying a book you've already read by mistake or by accident?

Dawn - glad you're feeling a bit less tired today. I find I get sort of 'fake tired' if I'm not doing a lot so often need a little walk around the house to remind my body that I don't actually need a nap!

Pi.R^2 16-08-2023 11:46 AM

Ninja Lindsay - wow, that looks like a great book!! I must stalk the the what are you reading thread to see what you rated it!

Cacoethes 16-08-2023 11:47 AM

It will. S demolishes cake XD

Decided to clean out the boys today too. Usually do it on Thursdays, but i have lots on tomorrow so will be less stressed if i do it today. Even if it'll feel weird!

I bumped into my taekwondo master at the gp surgery. I think we were both rather awkward about it XD
Did the classic 'y'alright?' Thing
