Cacoethes 07-05-2023 07:53 PM

I'll try!
Should have just gone with fish finger sandwich. Was torn between the two!

Apparently swearing works as pain relief too

I wish i could nap.
My body very rarely allows me to!
And when i actually do, it generally means something is up

Ahimsa 07-05-2023 07:56 PM

OMG Fish finger sammich! I'm going to make that for tea.

nonperson 07-05-2023 07:56 PM

Naps are good but I missed the end of Jungle Book.

Does someone want to go back to work for me now and maybe cook a pizza?

tamobhuuta 07-05-2023 07:57 PM

Church isn't dark but not exactly bright either! So it was a surprise to come out to sunshine.

Nowt wrong with moaning... sometimes anyway!

Cacoethes 07-05-2023 07:59 PM

Do it beth! It's one of my fave easy meals.
We do them at work and i got a bit obsessed XD

Original jungle book or live action?
I used to LOVE the vultures in the original when i was really young.

I'd do it. But I'm in comfy clothes and y'know. Meh.

one_step_closer 07-05-2023 07:59 PM

That was very rude of the sun, NP.

Can you try some sighing along with your moaning, Jen? I hope you get your dinner soon. I had a steam bag thing of pasta with broccoli and peas and a very thin sauce.

I can't nap either. But you do so much Beth you must be exhausted so naps are easier to come by when you have time.

I don't know if I've had a fish finger sandwich. I haven't had fish fingers since I was a child anyway!

one_step_closer 07-05-2023 08:01 PM

There was much conversation I missed as I was typing there.

Cacoethes 07-05-2023 08:04 PM

Fish finger sandwiches are top tier!

nonperson 07-05-2023 08:04 PM

It was the live action one, thought I'd give it a go as it was on TV. The vultures were my favs too and I still do the "So what we gonna do? I dunno, what you wanna do?" vulture shrug thing from time to time.

I don't think I've had a fish finger sandwich.

Cacoethes 07-05-2023 08:06 PM

The vultures were such a mood.

Jasmine has just informed me she's doing her SATS in 2 days! D:

Ahimsa 07-05-2023 08:15 PM

That's scary!

Cacoethes 07-05-2023 08:16 PM

I know!
I've told her to do her best but not to stress about it.
No one ever asks about your SATS results when you go to uni or get a job!

tamobhuuta 07-05-2023 08:41 PM

I was told Sats were more a judgement on the teachers. They probably just told us that so we wouldn't worry...

Pre going veggie I loved fish finger sandwiches.

Cacoethes 07-05-2023 08:54 PM

I think it also determines which class you get put into in secondary school? I'm possibly making that up!
I think it probably is a judgement on the teachers too.
I remember doing mine and being like 'this is ridiculously easy!'
And then i just got stupider as i got older XD

I don't think i could be veggie again.
I actually seem to mostly eat the veggie/vegan alternatives. But i like to have the option!

long road 07-05-2023 08:57 PM

I had dinner, the Bolognese was delicious.

Fish finger snadwiches are lush! I have fish fingers in the freezer so may have one later in the week. I sometimes even make my own tartar sauce out of mayo, lemon juice, gherkins and parsley. It should have capers but I never have capers in.

At least they do less SATs exams than when I was a kid, we did them in year 2, year 6 and year 9. I think they only do them in year 6 now. They are mainly for ranking primary schools and some secondary schools use them to work out what sets kids should be in for English and maths but that's about. It.

Cacoethes 07-05-2023 09:07 PM

I'm glad you enjoyed your dinner!

Ooh homemade tartare sauce sounds good!
Didn't know it was that simple to make.
I've made my own houmous before. That was incredibly easy!

Ah yes i remember the year 2 ones!
Year 9 was when i started going into hospital so idk if they were a thing still.

Jasmine isn't very academic so I'm worried she'll be upset if she doesn't do too well. She's clever, just not school clever!

I have a dilemma!
I've changed bedsheets and washed PJs, but i was planning on showering on Monday night, not tonight, because i don't have anything to do tomorrow.
But it would be a shame to waste the clean PJs and bed sheets!
What a first world problem XD

one_step_closer 07-05-2023 09:13 PM

I don't know anything about SATs, it's totally different in Scotland and might even have changed here too since I was at school. I can't even remember what age we started doing exams. I hope Jasmine gets on ok.

Yay for having dinner, Jen!

That is a dilemma, Beckie. Do you feel like you need a shower? I think it would still be ok to have a shower tomorrow instead.

Cacoethes 07-05-2023 09:19 PM

It was a long time ago for us all i think!
The gcse grades aren't even letters anymore. They're numbers!!
Gcses used to be called o levels when my mum was at school. This is a similar vibe. Now I'm the old person talking about lettered grades instead of numbers D:

I do need a shower. My hair is greasy af.
I'm just being lazy!
It will feel nice though!

one_step_closer 07-05-2023 09:20 PM

Do you have the energy for a shower? Or is just washing your hair an option if you can't fully shower?

Cacoethes 07-05-2023 09:25 PM

I find washing my hair without showering a lot more hassle and more time consuming!
May as well do the whole thing!

Ahimsa 07-05-2023 10:22 PM

Everyone’s dinners sound delicious!

As it’s Sunday, here are some quiz questions.

1. What is unusual about the telephone boxes in Hull?
2. Which of these countries is smallest? Austria, Belgium or Denmark?
3. Sea Swallow is the alternative name for which bird?

Cacoethes 07-05-2023 10:25 PM

Have showered!

I have literally no idea! Lol
I'm gonna guess
2) Denmark?
3) seagull?

not_so_insig 07-05-2023 10:40 PM

1. They're cream coloured rather than red

not_so_insig 07-05-2023 10:44 PM

Also hello all. I have been out today. Got overwhelmed due to the crowds. But am chill now, thankfully.

Pi.R^2 07-05-2023 10:57 PM

ooh quiz night!

2) Belgium, surely

Beckie and Dawn's answers for the other two seem legit so I'll go with that

I hope there will be more geography and/or prime minister questions!

Ahimsa 07-05-2023 10:59 PM

Yay for shower!

1. They are cream!
2 Belgium
3.Tern

Cacoethes 07-05-2023 11:11 PM

Ha. I suck at this XD

nonperson 07-05-2023 11:17 PM

Aw I missed the quiz questions. Didn't know any of the answers anyway =P

Cacoethes 07-05-2023 11:22 PM

We did quizzes in the psych ward.
Which included such questions as:
Where is a gorillas natural habitat?
A) jungle
B) desert
It was so ridiculous i was overthinking it and wondering if it was a trick question! It was not...

Cacoethes 07-05-2023 11:31 PM

I was told a lot that i am very intelligent.
But if this is their definition of intelligence then it's fairly concerning
Maybe that's how the junior doctors got onto the ward :ermm:

nonperson 07-05-2023 11:34 PM

Only allowed entry if they know that a gorilla doesn't live in the desert?

Cacoethes 07-05-2023 11:35 PM

Or similar level of question!
Or did one of those 'tick all boxes that have a picture of a traffic light in'
It's the only explanation.

nonperson 07-05-2023 11:38 PM

I love those things XD

Cacoethes 07-05-2023 11:44 PM

Idk if you knew, the junior drs accidentally took me off most of my meds, then in the same week, accidentally put me on the highest dose of an old med. Hence the lack of faith in their quizzing abilities! XD

I massively overthink those things tbh!
If a tiny corner is going onto another square, i panic XD

Pi.R^2 07-05-2023 11:48 PM

Yes Beckie!! I have the exact same woes with those things!!
And the time it asked me to tick all the boxes with fire hydrants and I’m like… I don’t think I’m experienced enough with fire hydrants to handle this quiz…

Cacoethes 08-05-2023 12:08 AM

Honestly the robots are definitely gonna get there before we do Jenna XD

maii 08-05-2023 02:05 AM

sorry I've been away but just, ya know. I hope everyone is doing alright.

I usually give up on those as my eyes can't see the subtle differences. CAPTCHA is more than I can handle right now and I hope they don't show up here on me.

Oh and Hi everyone :notsure:

Cacoethes 08-05-2023 08:33 AM

Morning everyone!

I've been here over 10 years and i don't think I've ever had to do a captcha! Apart from possibly when i first joined!

Pi.R^2 08-05-2023 09:01 AM

'over ten years' - coming up to your 15th anniversary Beckie!!!

Good morning! I have planned a day of ultra productivity and am only allowing myself on here at certain points in my productivity so we'll see how that goes. If I never return you'll know I'm stuck in a puddle of woe on the first task :(

Cacoethes 08-05-2023 09:07 AM

Jesus....
And that's just on my new account!
I made a bit of a stir on my old one...tbf, i was very young! And the rules were a lot more lax back then. Definitely would have been banned nowadays!

I applaud your planned productiveness!
This means there won't be a mod about
EVERYONE CAUSE HAVOC!!!!

nonperson 08-05-2023 10:28 AM

Spam time! *rubs hands together*

Cacoethes 08-05-2023 10:44 AM

Yesss!!!
Tbh i spam my rv all the time.
I got a message from Jenna saying she had to read through 218 of my RV posts because i posted so much XD
She appears to keep on top of it now...but we shall see...i have nothing to do today so...

nonperson 08-05-2023 10:45 AM

I was thinking post report spam might be more targeted and annoying >=)

Cacoethes 08-05-2023 10:54 AM

Ohh i like the way you think!

tamobhuuta 08-05-2023 11:07 AM

Morning guys. I'm too afraid of Pi's eventual wrath to be naughty!

Elmer 08-05-2023 11:08 AM

Ooh, havoc.

Pi.R^2 08-05-2023 11:18 AM

:plain: :plain:

First task took nearly an hour longer than planned and I am livid! Glad you had fun planning but not enacting mischief in my absence!

How is everyone today, aside from too tame to actually misbehave?

Elmer 08-05-2023 11:24 AM

I was going to suggest that anybody with a bit of downtime should send you a message via PR one letter at a time but I didn't want to inflict that on you/them so I didn't but now you've called us tame so
