We've always had animals so it's fine.
The dogs bark a ridiculous amount though! Well done for getting up! I know you struggle with that sometimes. How was the review? Yeah that's a good point! Not that busy really. Though i have finally unpacked! And threw away loads of t shirts that don't fit. I have kept a couple though for hair dying/lounging round the house purposes though! House sitting is fine. It's just that they live in the middle of nowhere so I'll just be really isolated! Which is tough because I'm quite a social person! The only place i could walk is the co-op or country park. Which is nice once or twice, but not every day for a week. I'm unsure whether I'll be seeing my friend, its raining and there is thunder! She doesn't finish until 6 so I'll see what the situation is. I bet they'll be having a fun time. It's street food heroes, so street food vans in the garden, always rammed. Idk how it's going with all the rain! Only some of outside is under shelter! Ooh cornflake crispies! Yum! |
Headache is mostly gone had to take my strong painkillers and they ended up sending me back to sleep.
Thanks for the well wishes everyone. I have bourbon biscuits if anyone wants one. Cornflake crispies are awesome. Which reminds me Beckie you said to remind you to make cornflake cakes when you got out of hospital so this is you official reminder! |
Hi Zippit. Maybe people were awake just not on here. Have you found out anything interesting about your family history? Oh, please share your cornflake crispies! I've been craving the rice crispies ones. Well done for doing your washing and ironing.
It was a review of my general mental and physical health with lots of different categories. |
Lots of ninjas!
The review was difficult and although I scored a lot of things lower (not doing so well) my support worker was surprised because she thinks I've been better over the last 6 months from what she's seen of me at the gym group. Now I'm questioning if I really am struggling. Well done for unpacking! Did you have lots to sort out? House sitting doesn't sound fun then. Will you be ok being so isolated? It's just started pouring with rain here. I'm glad your headache is mostly gone, Jen. |
Yes! Thank you Jen!
Next asda trip i will be acquiring the ingredients! I think things can change day to day with things like this lindsay. So it's not necessarily a completely accurate view on things. If that makes sense? I know what i mean but struggling to word it properly! Thanks! There wasn't a lot, it just looked like a lot because since i got back, I've just been rummaging around in bags for clothes, so it was spread everywhere! I still need to put away the washing that hss just finished, but that's easy. My brother said he'll try and drive down to chill with me for a bit which is nice of him! It's hammering down! Nope, not leaving the house again! |
My mum has done a load of family history research overr the years and has been sharing what she knows with me. It's really cool. She actually got back to the end of the 18th century on one side. And last time I visited she showed me the family photos including one of her grndparent and great grandparents. Next time I visit we are going to go over my Grandad war record from WW2 as she has his service book, medals and some photos. We know he was on the beaches at D Day as I want to research what his regiment were doing. But I need to look at his service book to check what regiment he was in.
My Dad has looked into it a bit too as did his Dad (my grandad) when he was alive. Bit trickier on Dad's side as they are mostly Welsh and all had very common Welsh surnames and common first names too. So hard to be 100% sure whether people in census records are our ancestors or not. So yes I am very interested in family history!! |

Re house sitting will you be bringing the guineas? I posted in your serious thread OSC. Btw is it okay if I call you Lindsay like I have seen others do or would you prefer OSC? |
My family history is pretty boring.
Basically just Norfolk. Less said about that, the better XD Also irish though. On my dad's side. Think there's some scottish on mum's side. But mainly Norfolk. My daughter had Persian and turkish in hers! Noo, both the dogs and the boys would be very unhappy with that arrangement! And they'd probably end up being accidentally murdered with the dogs wanting to play and not having been around small animals. |
On my mum's mum's side they are mostly Norfolk and then move into London around 1900. My brother has memories from before I was born of being dragged around cold Norfolk graveyards while mum was looking for ancestors graves!
I didn't think about whether they would be safe. Will you have to get your neighbour to look after them while you look after your mum's pets then? |
Wow! I'm lucky my mum wasn't quite that bad XD
She did get really into it for a while though Yeah i will. I don't really want to ask her again after her taking care of them for 6 weeks! But she won't need to do any full cleaning out at least. Just feeding and hay and water. |
She stopped doing so much research by time I was born, 2 kids was obviously too much work! And when she got back into it around 2011 all the records were online so travelling to records offices etc. wasn't needed.
I can see how that would feel awkward. She seems very happy to help you out though |
You got lucky then!
I can't imagine being so into it that you'd actually travel to record offices and graveyards! Yeah she absolutely is And tbh, i do have quite a few other people i can ask too. |
Lots of posts! Someone asked what book I'm getting? A Richard Osman murder mystery.
|
He’s offered me a trial of talking therapy!!! 8-10 sessions as a trial to see how it is and if it’s helpful for me. After that we reassess.
It has to be the same time every week, I spoke to work and they’ve given me one time option, over my lunch break and won’t change my shifts around it. So now I see if that time is an option with the therapist. |
Fingers crossed beth!
Your work sound incredibly inflexible! Is getting another job an option because what they're doing isn't ok! |
Not really, it took me long enough to get this one.
My last job, I could only take holiday if I had my laptop with me, was still on emails (and got sent work all the time with deadlines) and made up the hours. Also, my job here means I get half price treatment for the cats. |
I hope the therapy helps Ahimsa.

How is everyone? |
Ugh I'm sorry.
That's such a **** situation. Vet treatment can be expensive though I think i would stay in a **** job if i got half price treatment for the boys! Taking them for a nail clip on sunday. Sure they'll be thrilled XD Not looking forward to walking the 25 mins while carrying their chonky butts though! |
Awwww their little squeaks!!
Yes, definitely expensive, even more so on minimum wage with zero support |
They were suspiciously quiet for a long time until i opened the fridge and accidentally rustled a bag XD
That's so **** |
It is what it is.
|
State of this country.
It's started raining and thundering again :plain: I want to go out later! I'd have to leave at 5:30 so fingers crossed the weather sorts itself out |
I’ve got loads of overtime built up that I asked if I could use for some of it (like, 20 hours) but that’s not an option.
|
Why even bother having holiday and overtime as a thing if they don't intend on letting you use it??
Gotta be some laws being broken there Sun is out! Don't trust it though |
I'd recommend contacting the ACAS helpline Beth. They can give free confidential advice on work related problems and your rights under the law. And maybe you can use something they tell you to get your work to be more reasonable about therapy appointments and posting schedule. https://www.acas.org.uk/contact
My headache has come back and I am feelin rather eurgh. Going to attempt another nap. Pleasantly surprised I can nap at the moment clearly avoiding side effects for now. |
Thanks for your support in serious, Jen. Of course you can call me Lindsay.
I think I have some old stuff kicking around about the people in my family but only my Dad's side. I'm a bit boring and not really interested in family history. My brother had a free trial of something online and said he couldn't find much about our family history. I really hope you can get time to do the therapy, Beth and after the assessment sessions they think you're a fit and it helps. I'm so sorry it's such a struggle to sort things out with your work. Beckie, you really should make peace with jackets/coats! |
Oh no :(
Is it just a general headache or caused by anything specific? I hope the nap helps! The coat (that i do not wear) is now in storage under my bed XD I have an umbrella but don't like using that either Why am i like this? |
I'm sorry your headache has come back and you don't feel too good, Jen. That's not fair! I hope you can have a nap and feel better afterwards.
|
I was too long collecting my book from the library so they lent it to someone else :(
|
Not sure what type of headache it is. I get them sometimes from FND and sometimes from hayfever. I thought it was FND tension one as my facial muscles are quite tensed but it's same place as a hayfever sinus headache right between my eyes and into my head. So bit confused.
And sometimes I get migraines but I haven't got light sensitivity so it's not one of those. Try not to get drenched Beckie! |

Oh no, Tamo. Were you on a waiting list for it? I hope you can get it soon. Is there anything else you want to read?
You are just silly, Beckie! |
Oh no tamo!
That is quite a few possible headache reasons! I hope it improves, whatever the reason is! I'm not going out anymore. The weather is far too unpredictable! Been thunderstorms and lightning and rain! It's sunny now, but that could change in a second! I am silly :p |
Aww that's rubbish. The weather should be kind to you when you want to go out but you know a proper adult thing to do would be to fish your coat out from under your bed! What are you going to do instead?
|
Every copy in the county was being read so I reserved the next available copy. I didn't realise they would only reserve it for a week, I should have read the app properly.
|
Have you put another reservation in for it?
|
It should!
I'm just chilling. Looking forward to my tattoo and tesco delivery tomorrow! The only thing is, it was still warm! It was even too warm for my hoodie! So wore a thinner but still fabric jacket. I guess if it's that popular then a week is quite a while to hold it! |
What tattoo are you getting? When is your Tesco order coming?
|
The lady at the desk was very kind, she said they would only charge me for one reservation :)
What tattoo are you getting? |
A small martini glass behind my ear!
Because of working in the pub and it being the first job I've actually been able to stay at! Tesco is coming between 8-9. Thought I'd treat myself to an hour slot rather than flexi saver! That was nice of her tamo |
That's good, Tamo. We don't pay for reservations here. Unless it's changed since I last reserved something. How much is it you pay?
Oh yeah, Beckie, I remember you mentioning that. Shouldn't take too long! I hope you like it. 8-9am or pm? |
Looking for recommendations for TV to watch that you can get on catch up players? I've watched everything I usually watch except Derren Brown but I'm not going to watch him while I'm feeling mentally not good because the weirdness will maybe make me feel worse.
|
Pm!
I have taekwondo in the morning. And daytime slots all taken. It's pouring down with rain again! I made the right choice to stay in! What sort of thing do you usually like? I'm watching Doctor who again lol |
I'd hate to wait that long for a delivery! How was taekwondo last time? You can't let the rain defeat you every time  I mostly watch medical and police stuff, documentaries mostly. I'm thinking I might try Taskmaster which I know is way different to my norm but you're always talking about it here and it could be an ok watch for me.
|
My tattoo is at 3pm so it won't feel like that long. And I'm going to be here anyway
Taekwondo was good! We had to be in the small room though because the hall was used as a polling station. Rain doesn't usually defeat me! I went out in it this morning , but this was full on thunder and lightning! There's a double rainbow now but just heard more thunder. Ooh i love taskmaster. The first few seasons are definitely the best ones. |
Cool tattoo.
I've recommenced Race Across the World on the BBC iplayer, I think there're three series. |
Thanks! I'm excited
I can't remember what I've ordered but the fridge is full of guinea pig veg...i hope i don't have much fridge stuff! XD |

I napped for a grand total of 30 minutes and then my partner accidentally woke me up. Headache is lingering still but maybe a little better. Really want to try and roleplay tonight but don't know if I am well enough. My friends are very understanding though so if I get ill during they will be chill with stopping and trying again next week |
Don't push yourself too much jen!
Idk how guinea pigs know the time, but i just got hassled for dinner! Maybe they have little clocks in their hides? |
All times are GMT +1. The time now is 05:49 PM. |
