not_so_insig 28-04-2023 08:17 PM

I am a bit sleepy but otherwise ok Lindsay. I have been semi productive today. Hoovered the communal hall outside my flat, done the litter tray, done one load of washing and have my bedding going in my washing machine as I speak and mopped half my flat. I have also cleaned my fireplace (have an electric fire). I also played on my wii as I bought a games bundle of 2 wii games and a 3ds game off ebay 10 days ago. Although the seller messaged to say that they work perfectly i like to test second hand dvds and games before leaving feedback. I already tested the 3ds game. I just have shaking my rug outside, finish off the mopping, write a few postcards and post them, clean my coffee table, put a few things away, clean my kitchen windowsill and put the bedding back on once it's dry left to do. I have spent most of the day asleep so am annoyed with myself that I didnt do it sooner.

Cacoethes 28-04-2023 08:19 PM

That's annoying lindsay!

Panic over, the t shirt has been located.
I'm an idiot and it was shoved at the back of my towel shelf for some reason? Not on my t shirt shelf. I have no recollection of taking it off the chair because it wasn't dry. Weird.

Thanks Jen!

Purple porridge is indeed exciting!
When i was manic once, i tried to make purple bread at like 3am. Just normal bread but with like 5 bottles of food colouring! It kinda went a purple marble effect.

long road 28-04-2023 08:20 PM

Sleeping happens. Sometimes you just have to listen your body and rest. I too spent most of afternoon asleep, try not to beat yourself up about it Dawn

Ninja Beckie!
There is so little naturally purple food and this makes me sad. Purple bread sounds fun but I bet it would look weird making a sandwich out of it. Did you toast it and if so what happened to the colour?

Cacoethes 28-04-2023 08:27 PM

I can't remember what I did with it!
It did taste like normal bread but i don't think i toasted it
There aren't really any natural purple foods. It's my favourite colour!

long road 28-04-2023 08:53 PM

Its literally blackberries, blackcurrant and blueberries that are the closest to purple. And they look purple when you juice them but not at first glance. And beetroot is like between red and purple but more to the red side.

Only naturally properly purple food is purple sweet potato.

Cacoethes 28-04-2023 08:56 PM

Oh and red grapes!!!

I've seen those but never had one. Do they taste different to normal sweet potato?

long road 28-04-2023 09:14 PM

I would say black grapes ar emore purple than red grapes but that's being pedantic really.

I had some purple sweet potato crisps once and I think they seemed to taste the same. Harder to tell in crisp form though.

Ahimsa 28-04-2023 09:21 PM

Purple porridge is amazing. But tbh my whole life is purple.

Most of my wardrobe
My wallpaper in 3 rooms
My car
Most of my shoes
My bag
My hair
My nails
All my pyjamas
All my towels
Most of my garden.

The cat and I are home from her appointment for her vaccination :)

Cacoethes 28-04-2023 09:26 PM

I LOVE vegetable crisps.

That's quite the commitment to purple!
Glad you're home!
What is planned for the rest of the evening?

not_so_insig 28-04-2023 09:38 PM

Thanks Jen. I feel kinda groggy though despite tons of sleep. Done everything in my previous post bar putting the bedding back on my bed (but that's in the tumble dryer), writing my postcards and cleaning my kitchen windowsill.

What is planned for the rest of the evening?

I need to do my gratitude journal and make dinner, and ideally have a bath because tomorrow is busy.

- Vintage festival
- Piercings
- Outlet to take some shoes back
- See my friend in the evening

And then I'll probably make some apple tea and do a jigsaw until bed tonight.

Cacoethes 28-04-2023 09:46 PM

Oooh piercings??

Ahimsa 28-04-2023 09:50 PM

Yahh,,

I need a smaller bar for one of them, but I usually come back with something else, I've gone to the same piercer for over 5 years and I've got 15 still in! I dont have my lip or my collarbones anymore, sadness!

You've got a few haven't you?

Cacoethes 28-04-2023 09:55 PM

Love new piercings!

Yeah I've got a fair few.
Spider bites, nose, septum, conch, 3 lobes, flat helix, helix, forward helix, industrial. Used to have daith but it got really annoying with earphones.

I was thinking about getting the nips done, but apparently it's REALLY painful and no one is gonna see them!

Collarbone piercings are cool!

long road 28-04-2023 10:00 PM

Purple life for the win. My favourite colour is yellow.
But purple is pretty awesome. Have my purple and white duvet on my bed at the moment.

Vegetable crisps are amazing I really like the tyrells ones

I have none of the piercings but they do seem excitig

Cacoethes 28-04-2023 10:21 PM

Yellow is also a lovely colour!

Yess tyrells are the best!
Unfortunately very expensive!

They are!

Cacoethes 29-04-2023 09:03 AM

Good morning peeps!
Actually slept well, courtesy of zopiclone XD

tamobhuuta 29-04-2023 10:55 AM

Zopiclone ftw! Are you off on leave today?

Cacoethes 29-04-2023 11:03 AM

I have just got on the bus to the station!
So excited!

Have you got any plans for today?

tamobhuuta 29-04-2023 11:06 AM

Excellent! Do you have anything planned for your time at home? After lunch I'm going to Sainsbury's to buy pants!

Ahimsa 29-04-2023 11:07 AM

Morning guys

tamobhuuta 29-04-2023 11:08 AM

Hi Ahimsa, how are you?

Cacoethes 29-04-2023 11:11 AM

I have lots planned!
Just hope i can fit everything in!

Ooh new pants!

Good morning ahmisa!
Is it ok to call you beth? It's much easier to type and I've seen others call you that!

tamobhuuta 29-04-2023 11:17 AM

What are you most looking forward to?

Cacoethes 29-04-2023 11:29 AM

Probably seeing the boys and my friends!
At train station.
Apparently problems at london Bridge which actually works in my favour because the 10:11 has been delayed until 10:31. So just in time for me! Feel sorry for the other people though. Lol

tamobhuuta 29-04-2023 12:26 PM

I'm glad the timings worked out for you. I hope you have fun with your piggies and friends.

Cacoethes 29-04-2023 12:27 PM

Thank you!
About 20 mins until bus. I'm so excited!

nonperson 29-04-2023 12:39 PM

Ooooh this is exciting news, Beckie =D

Morning all. How's everyone doing?

I'm facing the reality that I may have to actually make an effort to do something with my garden today while the weather is nice... D=

not_so_insig 29-04-2023 12:42 PM

Morning all. I was asleep until I got rudely woken by banging.

Cacoethes 29-04-2023 12:47 PM

I am on the bus! Hasn't left yet but thank god it turned up AND is early!

For as long as I've known you np, you have been saying you need to do something with the garden XD

tamobhuuta 29-04-2023 01:15 PM

What will you do in the garden np?

Hi insig. How are you?

Are you having fun on the bus Cacoethes?

one_step_closer 29-04-2023 01:18 PM

Afternoon everyone.

Hope you enjoy your day, Beckie. I also hope you can fit in all your plans but don't be doing too much.

How did your morning go, Beth?

I hope you get some exciting pants, Tamo. I miss the character/cool pattern ones in boxers form that Primark used to do.

Gardening is the annoying thing that Spring and Summer brings. Do you have much to do in your garden, NP?

That's annoying, Dawn. What was the banging? Has it stopped?

I was planning on going to Tesco but had to go to the chemist first and all my stuff took up the space in my backpack so I'd have no space for shopping so I just got a few things from a local shop. Will try again for Tesco on Monday if it's open and I can be bothered.

Cacoethes 29-04-2023 01:22 PM

Thank you!

I am SO close to being home!
Massive queue at the big roundabout though D:
Though it's moving fairly steadily

Do you not have any bags for life?
I guess they're more difficult to carry

XD!

I know... D=

My garden is particularly wild and I never do enough with it so there is always something that I need to be doing. Today I need to mow the lawn... But there is also weeding, hacking back the brambles, getting rid of last year's tomato pots and other dead plants and chopping back the herbaceous plants that I haven't done for two years... I really am the worst gardener.

Is Tesco not open tomorrow, Lindsay?

I also need to go to Tesco later.

one_step_closer 29-04-2023 01:38 PM

I have a big bag but I usually need to put some things in my backpack too like a big bottle of Pepsi max so it's easier to carry. Tesco will probably be open tomorrow, I usually don't leave the house on Sundays though. We'll see.

How long has the journey home taken you, Beckie?

That's a lot of stuff to do, NP. I would be put off too. Is there easier/more important things you need to do and you can make a list to get through but not all today of course?

nonperson 29-04-2023 01:41 PM

Carrying heavy stuff on your back is definitely much easier. Bags always hurt your hands.

My main aim today is to mow the lawn. That's absolutely desperate at the moment and my most hated job because it's noisy and I worry about the neighbours hearing me. Everything else can wait.

tamobhuuta 29-04-2023 01:43 PM

Well done on going to the chemist and a little shop osc :)

I will probably get boring pants tbh.

one_step_closer 29-04-2023 01:46 PM

You can do it, NP! Why do you worry about your neighbours hearing you?

Boring pants still do the job, Tamo!

Cacoethes 29-04-2023 01:46 PM

You can do it np!

Fair enough.
My bestie always uses a rucksack.

The journey took a couple of hours. So at least it was as expected and no delays!

I have a strong tote bag that goes over my shoulder. Can carry 4 bottles of coke in it!

one_step_closer 29-04-2023 01:48 PM

Does that not hurt your shoulder?

Are you home now?

nonperson 29-04-2023 01:53 PM

Nothing wrong with boring pants =P

I dunno, Lindsay - I only have one neighbour and they work odd shifts sometimes and my petrol mower is noisy so I worry they're trying to sleep sometimes. But also I just don't like being noticed outside, I don't feel comfortable in my own garden and their dogs always run to the adjoining fence and bark at me. =(

not_so_insig 29-04-2023 02:07 PM

It was the police banging on one of the upstairs flats trying to get in. They caused quite an commotion. So I couldn't complain and tell them to shut up Lindsay.

not_so_insig 29-04-2023 02:15 PM

Also tesco are open here on Monday Lindsay. I dont know if it's different in Scotland.

one_step_closer 29-04-2023 03:03 PM

I can relate to that NP. My neighbours are usually out in their garden which puts me off going in mine because they'll talk to me. I don't like being noticed outside too. It's hard but I think you can do it and then try to be kind to yourself for being brave.

You should have peeked out your front door and told them to shut up, Dawn! They wouldn't know it was you, lol! I think Tesco will be open on Monday just restricted hours.

not_so_insig 29-04-2023 03:08 PM

Speaking of restricted hours I wonder if places are going to be shut/open late because of the coronation? I think a lot of places had restricted hours during the Queen's funeral. I havent heard anything.

one_step_closer 29-04-2023 03:09 PM

I know nothing about anything. Helpful, I know!

not_so_insig 29-04-2023 03:32 PM

The coverage is only on until 3 pm. It's only bbc 1 and 2 plus itv. The rest of the channels such as Channel 4 are showing normal Saturday programming. I dont know about stv in Scotland whether they're showing the coronation or not. Just thought I would say just in case anyone wanted to avoid it. So the shops may decide to open at 3 pm and be closed before.

nonperson 29-04-2023 04:06 PM

My Sainsbury's is only doing different hours on the bank holiday Mondays. Should be normal hours on Saturday, I'd have thought.

Thanks for encouragement Lindsay. Outside is hard, isn't it. I've done half the lawn but currently taking a break to sit in front of a fan to cool down! I'll finish the rest in a bit. I was very tempted earlier to just lay down on the sofa and start binge watching a series on TV but I didn't, so I'm kinda proud as that would have been the easy choice.

What's everyone up to?

Cacoethes 29-04-2023 04:06 PM

Oddly enough, it doesn't hurt my shoulder!

I'm out and just realised my entite arm is purple.
Getting a taxi to work because I'm struggling a bit!
Been rushing about!

The only thing that will affect me is the drs not being in on the bank holiday. Which is always annoying.

Well done for doing half the lawn!
It is very warm today!
