Hello everyone,

Not got many words but wanted to say hello.

tamobhuuta 03-03-2023 05:11 PM

Hi long road :)

one_step_closer 03-03-2023 05:44 PM

Hi Jen, I hope you're ok.

How is your day going, Tamo?

I'm not feeling great but managed to get up early for me so that is a win. Got everything done on my to do list.

long road 03-03-2023 05:48 PM

*waves* I am ok just a bit physically and mentally eurgh.
Well done for tackling your to do list OSC.

one_step_closer 03-03-2023 05:51 PM

Look after yourself, Jen. I hope tomorrow brings better feelings.

tamobhuuta 03-03-2023 07:23 PM

Well done osc.

Sorry you're feeling eurgh long road.

I'm having a good day thanks.

Cacoethes 03-03-2023 08:08 PM

Evening peeps!

long road 03-03-2023 08:22 PM

Evenin' How was work Beckie?

Cacoethes 03-03-2023 08:49 PM

Was actually pretty chill thanks.
Good team on, customers weren't being d*cks for once....lol

How's your day been?

long road 03-03-2023 08:55 PM

Thats good to hear. I have never done a service industry job but my partner was in retail for years and the customers can really make or break a day. As can having the right team. Closest I got to customer service was when I did admin in a solicitors office in my late teens but that was different I think.

My day has not been the best but I am still going. Breathing is getting better but FND has been flaring today, so a chunk of pain and fatigue. Plus my mood is all over the place, and have been very emotionally fragile, which I think is a side effect of steroids.

Sorry if that is too much of a downer I am struggling to judge tone and that kind of thing today

Cacoethes 03-03-2023 09:23 PM

They absolutely can.
There was an annoying moment when 2 guys came in and ordered 2 drinks. So put them on the till. Asked if paying with cash or card and they said more people would be there in a few minutes to get more drinks.
Which then meant I couldn't serve anyone else because their drinks were on my key. Then the other people turned up and they stood there chatting while I'm waiting at the till like i had all the time in the world to just stand there on a busy Friday....

No need to apologise!
It's good to share.
I'm sorry you've had a bad day.
When do you come off the steroids?

long road 03-03-2023 09:47 PM

Goodness me if you want to buy more drinks like that why not just open a tab? It seems such an obvious solution.

Last dose of steroids is Sunday Morning so hoping by Tuesday I will have mostly evened out mentally (well at least got to my more normal level of mentalness). Also hoping I will be able to stay stable breathing wise when I stop then so I don't have to go back on them.

Then if my breathing is more stable I can hopefully start going outside again, It felt a big step, and I am missing doing that but cold air can trigger my asthma.

These are a lot of hopes though. So a bit worried one or more of them won't happen

Cacoethes 03-03-2023 10:02 PM

You'd think so!
It's like when people order food and don't know their table number. Like ok, I'll just let the food runners know they'll have to use their psychic powers to locate which table the food is going to....

Fingers crossed!
Try not to worry too much. I know easier said than done, but worrying isn't going to help anything. It may even make it worse!

That said, I am worried I'll oversleep tomorrow and won't be on time for my lift at 9:30am.
Which is stupid as I can't even remember the last time I slept past 9am, even when I wanted to! And i have literally never failed to wake up to an alarm.

long road 03-03-2023 10:18 PM

The table number thing gah! When I went out somewhere with table numbers I'd be reciting the table number in my head most of the way to the till. And these days everyone has a camera in their pocket anyway! That said most places I go these days are either table service or they give you a table number on a stick when you order. I imagine numbers on a stick are useful for solving the noone knows their number problem. But would then make things harder for the runners because the numbers are never in the sameplace twice.

I think the worrying is worse because the steroids are literally an artificial version of a hormone your body produces naturally when you are under stress (that also has anti inflammatory properties and is what they are prescribed for). And so pumping loads of extra stress hormone in means everything is up to 11. And I can get in anxious thought loops at best of times.

Irrational fears are so irritating, because you logically know it's extremely likely everything will be fine but your thoughts refuse to listen. I find it very frustrating

Cacoethes 04-03-2023 08:19 AM

It's table service in the restaurant, but bar and garden isn't.
It's even worse in the summer because the garden is HUGE and the numbers don't make sense. In the bar, if someone gestures over to a table you can usually guess or know the number, but if someone says 'we're somewhere outside' when it's hot and all the tables in the garden are taken up...

Ah right. That makes sense.
Sounds awful. At least only one more day of them.

Yep exactly!
I was up at 7 anyway so there was no need to worry!

Morning!

Zurg 04-03-2023 10:30 AM

Morning Beckie :)

Forgive my forgetfulness, but what did you need a lift for today???

I'm baking buns before my friend comes over. I had Grand plans of cleaning the bird cages as Well as hoovering but my head is having an off day and punishing me with a headache so i popped some paracetamol and am trying to relax a bit instead….

tamobhuuta 04-03-2023 11:01 AM

Morning guys. I hope the paracetamol helps Zurg. I hope whatever you are doing is going well Cacoethes!

long road 04-03-2023 12:49 PM

Morning everyone!
Hope your all day taekwondo training goes well Beckie. Glad you were up in plenty of time!

Ooh buns Zurg! What kind of buns? I just had a hot cross bun for breakfast. If you have a headache relaxing sounds a good plan.

How are you Tamo?

I am feeling a bit more upbeat this morning*fingers crossed* it lasts.

not_so_insig 04-03-2023 12:52 PM

Morning all. I fell over yesterday and have hurt my left ankle. I can walk ok but I am in discomfort. I dont feel as though I have broken it thankfully. Nobody offered to help or see if I was ok however when i did it

tamobhuuta 04-03-2023 01:19 PM

I'm glad you're feeling a bit better long road.

Sorry about your ankle insig, I hope it gets better soon.

I am ok. Going to the Signed Mass and my big sister is coming round. Also I am going to see if I can get a better deal on my phone.

Cacoethes 04-03-2023 01:19 PM

It's my taekwondo all day training zurg!
Got here on time!
It's hard work. Having a little break while the black belts do a pattern separately. Hopefully lunch soon, I'm starving! But it's good fun!

Buns sound good!
Hope your headache eases soon!

tamobhuuta 04-03-2023 01:20 PM

Ninja Cacoethes. I'm glad you're having fun.

one_step_closer 04-03-2023 02:48 PM

Hi everyone.

Are you managing to keep up the normality so far, Beckie? I'm glad you're enjoying it.

I hope your headache eases and you can have a nice relaxed day, Kat.

I'm glad you're feeling more upbeat today, Jen. I will cross my brain fingers in the hope that it will last, you deserve a good day and many more.

I hope your ankle isn't too badly hurt, Dawn. It's a shame no one came to see if you were ok.

Lots of tasks today, Tamo. I hope you get everything done and enjoy your day.

Cacoethes 04-03-2023 03:02 PM

So far i think I've done well at acting normal.
2½ to go.
I'm so tired XD
And pretty sure i almost dislocated my hip doing a particularly high turning kick! Lol

one_step_closer 04-03-2023 03:12 PM

Be careful, you need all your bits and pieces intact! I could never focus on anything for that long, well done you.

not_so_insig 04-03-2023 04:38 PM

I can walk ok on it and the pain is more of a discomfort rather than an bad pain. Probably bruised or pulled a muscle. If pain gets worse then will seek medical treatment. Thanks for your concern though Lindsay.

one_step_closer 04-03-2023 05:41 PM

You're meant to rest but also keep moving right?

Zurg 04-03-2023 05:52 PM

I hope it won't get any worse, Dawn!! Injuring an ankle is quite uncomfortable even if it's not serious. You suddenly become very aware how much you take being able to walk for granted. Hope it eases soon. Some say a bit of ice on it for a short while makes the swelling and discomfort a bit better.

Ooohh, so now you're a pro, Beckie??? Can you beat us all up??? Should we be scared???

I hope signed mass has been good, Tamo.

How are you today Lindsay???

(I forgot you, Jen. I just read through replies here and yet i somehow managed to delete most of the info from my brain… i blame it on old age!!!)

The buns were lovely. And seeing my friend was awesome. Now i'm tired but i Think i'll clean the bird cages after doing my dishes. Especially the cage with the zebra finches is quite a bit fast at accumulating vast amounts of bird droppings (seriously, how can two tiny, tiny birds produce so much crap???)

one_step_closer 04-03-2023 05:58 PM

Hi Kat. Sounds like you've had a nice but tiring day. I hope you manage to clean the bird cages. Will you then have a rest? Maybe lots of poo means something to the birds like their excitement of being with you. They could have just got you a box of chocolates though or something nicer than poo anyway.

I'm having a hard day but got most things done as usual. Ate three packets of Burton's Fish N Chips biscuits (if you know what those are) through the night which I ordered from Amazon when I was in bed one night. I haven't ordered snacks for ages but I need to stop.

Cacoethes 04-03-2023 06:33 PM

Am most definitely not a pro! XD
watching the black belts was quite scary.
Blue belt and above were breaking boards at the end!
There was some audible cringing when the boards didn't break. Or when someone missed and kicked the thing holding the boards!
Obviously i didn't do that, but I have a rather sore arm and a small bruise from semi free sparring!

I'm glad you enjoyed seeing your friend zurg.
I feel similar about my 2 tiny guinea pigs! Absolute poop machines!

Sorry you're not feeling great lindsay.
I think I've heard of those biscuits!

long road 04-03-2023 07:26 PM

Take care of yourself Dawn, I don't want to give medical advice as that's against rules but I believe PRICE Protect Rest Ice Compression and Elevation is the standard first aid for strains and sprains and you can check details on NHS website

Yay for lovely buns and awesome friends. Boo to poop, poop management is one of the reasons I don't have pets. Pets are lovely to visit but soo much poop! Hope you can get some rest in as well Zurg.

Hope you enjoyed Mass Tamo.

Hope you can do some things to help yourself OSC. Well done for doing things you needed do you think you can get some rest now?

Well done for doing the whole day of Taekwondo Beckie. A nice low effort meal and a rest are overdue I think!

I managed to do my physio for first time in a week / since my asthma attack. My muscles are a bit sore now and I am little short of breath but feels good to have restarted. Going to rest now propped up in bed watching my 2000's crime show numbers.

Cacoethes 04-03-2023 07:37 PM

At least guinea pig poop is inoffensive as poop goes!

Thank you!
I've eaten. Now waiting for tesco delivery.
Estimated between 7:42 and 8:12 apparently!
It's 7 stops away.
Which is good, the time window is between 6-10. And I don't think I could stay awake until 10! Lol

Well done for doing your physio.
Enjoy your show!

I'm watching muppets treasure island.
I LOVE this film, but we used to watch it over at my dad's house as kids. It was our thing. So also kinda sad. He died in October but I've been having delayed grief, which is apparently a thing.

long road 04-03-2023 08:06 PM

True I imagine guinea pig is similar to rabbit and I used to look after my friends rabbits and tortoise when they were on holiday. There's a lot of pooop but it isn very stinky.

Glad Tesco looks like it is coming earlier than 10. You have deserved your sleep tonight!

. I know your relationship with your Dad was complicated so I imagine the feelings are complicated too. Hopefully watching the film can help you remember some good things and express some sadness. Delayed grief is definitely a thing, I had a lot going on when my grandparents passed within the same year as I first got involved in the mental health system and it took a while to finally hit.

Cacoethes 04-03-2023 08:10 PM

Yep it is. Just a different shape! But i think they have basically the same diet.

I probably still won't sleep well. Because I'm me. Lolz

Thanks.
The memories associated with the film are all good ones luckily! He really was a good dad back in those days.

long road 04-03-2023 08:18 PM

I think anything that eats meat or dair is what makes smelly poop. Plus birds because it's generally liquid poop.

Well if you can't sleep maybe you can still rest.
I know your CPN hasn't had a good track record so far but not sleeping can be linked to mania, might be worth at least attempting to get in in your notes.

The film is probably a nice place to 'go to' to start processing your grief then. Memories of him being a good Dad. Enjoy it, it's a great film :)

Cacoethes 04-03-2023 08:24 PM

Yeah.
Cleaning up horse poo was always fine as well.

They are well aware that my sleep is crap. They ask me every time I see them (including crisis and psych liason) but they never say anything about it.

Thanks :)
It is a great film!

Cacoethes 05-03-2023 09:14 AM

Morning everyone!

tamobhuuta 05-03-2023 11:03 AM

Morning, how are you?

Cacoethes 05-03-2023 11:05 AM

Morning.
Quite sore today for some reason.
About to go to the retail park for some emergency hay for the boys! There's a pets at home there.

How are you?

Zurg 05-03-2023 11:54 AM

Hi Tamo and Beckie :)

I imagine the sore is due to the intensive work out schedule that you had two days in a row, Beckie. I recommend painkillers, delish coffee and some noms of your choice. I have a very revolutionising theory (sadly, i have yet to prove it…) that everything that you consume during the weekend doesn't count calorie wise. It just gets cancelled out by the powers that be!!!!

What are you both up to today??? Apart from hay shopping???

Cacoethes 05-03-2023 12:20 PM

I'm not gonna argue with that!

I'm not up to a lot.
Just picked up some hay.
It was £7.59 for just a 1kg pack! What an absolute rip off. I can get 8kg off amazon for £15!!
I got 2 though, because I'm not sure when my hay delivery will be. Sometimes the amazon one can be next day, sometimes it can be a few weeks.
But the boys need their hay.

I may go to asda at some point.
Also need to do a little cage clean.

How are you zurg?
Up to much?

tamobhuuta 05-03-2023 12:26 PM

I've got my prayer group this afternoon.

not_so_insig 05-03-2023 12:49 PM

Pets at home are becoming a rip off imo. I recently bought 2 cat litter bags from jollyes online and despite paying postage it was cheaper than 2 bags of cat litter from pets at home. Pets at home dont do delivery of cat litter so i would have had to pay for a taxi or rely on my dad to fetch it. Plus it came the next day despite paying for standard delivery. We have both a pets at home and a jollyes in my city.

Cacoethes 05-03-2023 01:02 PM

Yeah. They had some of the things i get the boys like hay cubes and they were a good few £s more than the exact same ones on amazon!
And also, not everything they sell for specific breeds are suitable for that breed. And in some cases are dangerous! Idk how they get away with that still.
I saw some cute little snack cubes but it said they contained nuts or may contain nuts. And guinea pigs can't have nuts.

one_step_closer 05-03-2023 02:06 PM

Hey everyone.

No wonder you're sore after yesterday, Beckie! I get a huge bag of cat food on subscription from Pets At Home but I don't know where else to look. It might be a good deal but I know lots of stuff from there are just a rip off. It's a shame you had to resort to getting hay from there. Hopefully it'll be a one off. I hope you get nice things if you decide to go to Asda.

Are you having unlimited treats today then, Kat?

I hope you enjoy your prayer group, Tamo.

How is your ankle today, Dawn?

Cacoethes 05-03-2023 03:07 PM

I get the boy's nuggets off amazon.

I had a tesco delivery yesterday so only needed coke.
But asda didn't have any of the own brand cheap ones. And i can't afford to spend the extra money on coke zero. It's 2 for £3 but that's still £6 for 4 when own brand would only be £2 for 4. So I didn't get anything from asda and went to aldi instead and got their own brand diet coke!

Are you up to much today?
I still need to clean out the boys, put washing away, change bedding and shower. And do a quick house clean.

not_so_insig 05-03-2023 04:31 PM

My ankle is ok Lindsay but I have started with upper leg pain. I am starting a bruise where the pain is greatest so I am hoping it's just a massive bruise. I can walk ok.

one_step_closer 05-03-2023 05:48 PM

I hope Aldi's Diet Coke tastes good enough. Have you got some more things done? I've done everything that was important to do except clean Crookshanks's bowls and mats which I'll do once he's had his dinner.

Poor you, Dawn. At least you can walk ok.

Cacoethes 05-03-2023 05:53 PM

I'm used to the cheap versions now so should be fine!
Yeah pretty much everything is done.
Just need to shower now. And get my dinner and the boy's dinner!

tamobhuuta 05-03-2023 06:33 PM

We used to get our cat's food off amazon, the cheap stuff!
