Morning guys :)
According to my discharge notes, I have tooth ache. I had stomach ache there, I had chest pains there but I never had tooth ache there! |
I'm fairly sure they copy and paste a lot of things.
I've had other people's names in care plans. And also it was once in my notes that i had a gecko in my room...i absolutely did not! |
Lol oh dear!
|
I'd rather have a gecko in my room than having tooth ache, just sayin' ;)
Hi Beckie and Tamo :) |
Some things written in hospital notes are hilarious and weird. With me, more often they are upsetting though. I have stopped looking at them.
How are you all getting on with your day? |
I'm having a bit of a difficult day. Pulled a muscle in my back a couple of days ago and last night i made a quite unfortunate movement that made it ten times worse. Feeling quite whiny and sad today which is annoying bun-bun because i cuddle him constantly to try and cheer myself up. I'm not good at being ill or injured, my mood takes a nose dive and i end up driving myself crazy.
I'm having a foot spa right now because that is a nice thing i can do for myself and i really need to pamper my feet a bit. How are you today, Lindsay??? |
Ouch, I know from experience that pulled muscles especially in your back can be really painful. I know it can be hard to be ill or injured along with how you're already feeling mentally and the additional emotional stuff that injuries can bring. Does Findus help a little bit when he's settled with you? Foot spa sounds good. I'm glad you're trying your best to look after your physical and mental health. I hope you can do more kind things and you heal quickly. *lets you borrow Crookshanks for cuddles*
I'm not sure how I am. The window cleaners washed my windows today even though ages ago I asked for them to stop. They haven't come for their payment yet and don't seem to be around any more so I don't know what's going on. |
I don't really read them anymore.
I mainly skim and then bin them. I do tell them to stop giving them to me because i will chuck them. But they have to apparently :eyeroll: Oof pulled muscles are no fun! I am also in a lot of pain but my pain is exercise related and therefore entirely self inflicted. That's weird lindsay! |
I've finished unpacking!
|
Also a lady from the Crisis Team came. She gave me a questionnaire to fill in but it was all depression symptoms, not relevant to me or why I was in hospital!
|
Beckie sounds like a plan to book routine GP appointment. Gah to the dentist awkwardness.
Muscle pain sucks Zurg. I recommend using a hot water bottle or wheat pack or having a bath. I always find heat helps ease my muscles when they are playing up. Foot spa sounds fun, do you have bubbles? *facepalms* looks like the crisis team are living up to their one size fits all reputation. Did you manage to explain it wasn't relevant to your and your recent admission Tamo? Must be nice to be unpacked and settling back in at home. Bet the bed is comfier! Strange window cleaners OSC, maybe the boss hasn't passed on the message to his workers that you cancelled? You could try putting up a sign in your window next time they would be due to remind them you have cancelled perhaps? I have had a busy day so far. Had final therapy review this morning which went fairly well. Was a bit emotional saying thanks to my psychologist and goodbye for now. Then I went out for a late lunch at a local garden centre/farm shop and had a roast dinner so we don't have to worry about cooking tonight. We also bought scones for later. Next on the agenda is a nap as I only got 5 hours sleep. |
Yeah. I actually also need to book a nurse appointment for my contraceptive depot which is due next week. Which i rarely end up doing on time.
Ooh roast dinner! Love a roast! |
It was delicious. And so much less faff than when you make one yourself.
|
Do you need to rest a bit to get rid of your exercise pain, Beckie?
I hope you have a nice evening at home, Tamo, sleep well, and enjoy being at home. I hope they get your support right. Sounds like a busy day, Jen. I'm glad you've been able to do some things and your therapy review went well. Lunch sounds good. I hope you can have a nap and also sleep well when the time comes. |
Yes absolutely!
My work does roasts on sundays. I have been on hold to the gp surgery for 20 mins. Now number 2 in the queue apparently. Unusual to take this long! Even when it's first thing! There are 2 gp surgeries in town and the GPs have all resigned their contracts at the other one. So maybe people are trying to transfer over to mine. Even though the website says they won't be accepting new patients from that surgery. The best thing for this type of pain is keep moving apparently! Otherwise you stiffen up and it gets worse. |
I hope it's not to painful to keep moving, Beckie, and the pain eases soon.
I don't know if I could put up with being on hold for 20 minutes! But you're close to the front of the queue now so that's good. |
Thanks!
I'm sure i will live! I have it booked for next Friday! And it's in my surgery thankfully so don't have to faff about with buses or trains! |
That's good.
What are you doing with your evening? |
Taekwondo.
Just psyching myself up to get ready! I'm so tired! How about you? |
Will you be able to do it with your pain and tiredness?
I'm just about to go offline, feed Crookshanks, and try to read. |
Beckie!!!! Doing more excercise when already in pain from excercise makes me facepalm!!! That is not good!!!!
This day turned to **** rather quickly. Trying to stay focused with making my sauce bearnaise for my chips. Making myself unable to eat always results in my mood going to unseen levels of ****. I regret to inform that i Will learn absolutely nothing from this. Clean Windows are nice. But getting them cleaned without agreeing to, that is some serious stressful bullshit!!! I feel you, Lindsay. Mmmm, a roast. It's a good thing you've treated yourself to something nice today, Jen :) I'd just toss the paper in the bin, Tamo. Sometimes it seems that different teams are from different planets…. |
Yeah it'll be fine.
Yes i know it's not good! Been on the waiting list for therapy in relation to this for over a year....but i could be making more of an effort myself tbh. Idk. It's difficult! Oh no! Maybe have an early night and tomorrow could be better! |
Quote:
Moving to stop stiffening up from pain and doing heavy exercise are different things though! :nono: Hope you didn't make things worse at your taekwondo class. If you are waiting for physio could you look up some appropriate stretches to try in the meantime? I hope your bearnaise sauce for your chips went successfully Zurg and you managed to eat it. Tomorrow is a new day and I hope it turns out better. Napped for two hours and it helped. Hopeful I have done enough this evening to make me sleepy. Also hopeful I haven't done so much I pay for it tomorrow! Tonight I have bought last minute birthday presents online as I suddenly realised it is a family members birthday tomorrow and their party is on Saturday. But looks like I ordered in nick of time. Just drawing a bit before I try heading to bed. Hope you are enjoying your book OSC. |
True
Waiting list is for ED therapy, not physio. The pain is rarely this bad for this long! Hope you slept well! Morning everyone! |
Morning, Beckie. I really hope you're taking care of yourself.
Have you got much to do today? |
I am indeed!
Just done fitness pilates, just have asda/aldi, pharmacy, clean house, shower and go out for the postponed xmas drinks with glow beatz back row crew! Which sounds like a lot but i live so close to everything nothing really takes long! How about you? |
Good afternoon everyone. I had a gentleman from the Crisis Team round. He asked what my mood out of 10 was, 10 being normal. I said 10 and he was like 'wow that's really good!' Not really because I DON'T HAVE A MOOD DISORDER this is just normal.
|
Why would saying that's good mean he thinks you have a mood disorder?
He said 10 was normal |

I slept ok. But it took ages to fall asleep partly because I ended up going down an internet rabbit hole so it's my own fault .. So having a slow start to my day and haven't left bed yet. Planning to go watch TV in living room shortly and then shower before going to see family member for birthday. Alas this visit is 4:30pm to 6:30pm and the parcel tracking suggests the preaent will be here between 6pm and 9pm. I wouldn't mind but as they are a child they may be less understanding of present not on their birthday. Hope your day is going well. |
I just mean, they always ask about mood, and are surprised when it's not an issue.
|
Any mental illness can include low mood just like not having a mental illness can include low mood. MH professionals should regularly check mood.
That does sound like a lot, Beckie. Even if it takes less time because things are close to you. How is your pain today? I hope you enjoy your drinks with the Glow Beatz people. Just do what you can, Jen. That's a shame that the present won't arrive on time. It will just seem like an extra present when it does come. Maybe you could go to a shop and get some sweets for now? |
No worries jen! Easily done!
Literally everyone has moods. So it's a pretty standard thing to ask! Pain is better thanks! Still there, but better. Thanks! Sweets is a good idea. Kids love sweets! I'm super irritable today lol Kept getting stuck behind slow people and then people taking up entire aisles and standing exactly where i needed to be! |
Less pain ftw.
Sweets could work OSC, thanks for the odea. Alas they have a load of dietary needs so usually we have to go to a big store to get things suitable for them and I do not have big store energy levels today!. I have made a card. I expect it will be ok, they do love just spending time with us and we are seeing them again tomorrow at their party. You need a bicycle bell for the slow people Beckie XD |
I'm sure it'll be fine!
I do! I ended up just glaring. Also annoying was a train coming in as I was walking across the station bridge into town and people being d*cks. It's quite a narrow bridge and they were just flooding up the steps. Ugh. |
Slow people are frustrating but I try to think they might have a good reason for having to go slow. Still irritating though! People stopping for a chat in the supermarket can be annoying. You're not the only person who would be irritated, Beckie! Well done for getting through it!
A handmade card is always lovely, I hope your visit goes well and the party goes well too. Will your gift have arrived so you can give them it tomorrow? I hope all the visiting isn't too much for you. |
I know. Still annoying when you just want to get things done!
House is clean and I am clean! So been a successful day so far! And my favourite cheese salad was in the reduced section! How's your day going? |
Well done for being on top of things. :-) I hope everything continues well. That's a win with your cheese salad too. I've been eating chunks of Wensleydale with cranberries. When are you going out?
I got up at a time that I was pleased with and I've done everything on my to do list, so I'm glad of that. |
Thank you!
The bathroom and kitchen were really stressing me out so I'm glad it's done! Oooh that sounds tasty! We're meeting at 7:30. Spoons is in town so only a 10 min walk. Sounds like a successful day for you too! |
Yay cheap tasty food!
Double yay Wensleydale and cranberry, that's one of my favourite cheeses OSC. Congrats to everyone on successful chores and to do lists. Visit went ok. Although bless Kid whose birthday it is they have an eye infection and they were a bit overwhelmed. We took it gentle and just spent some quiet time together, we asked them if they wanted card today or tomorrow and they said tomorrow. So will do card tomorrow. along with present (which should be arriving tonight/ tomorrow morning). I am doing ok with the peopling and doing things for now. I am a bit exhausted though. Chilling now before dinner then RPG after dinner fighting some war machines. |
Reminds me of Wallace and gromit. Cheeeese!
Peopling can indeed be exhausting! |
Morning everyone!
|
(Late) morning Beckie :)
How are things today?? |
Morning :)
|
Hey guys!
I'm ok. Just back from taekwondo! FINALLY I've managed to learn the next pattern for my grading (dan-gun) I was really struggling with it but something has just clicked! How are you guys? |
Morning nearly afternoon.
Well done, Beckie! :-) Have you got much else on today? How are you both, Tamo and Kat? What's everyone getting up to today? |
Just done pilates and now waiting in a very long queue for meds and also need to go to asda as usual!
Nothing else to do really so a pretty chill day! |
Maybe you'll get to skip the queue again because you're special to the chemist! I hope you get everything you need in Asda. What do you do on days when you don't have much to do?
|
Well done Cacoethes.
Hi osc, how are you? I'm ok, enjoying reading. Got the Crisis Team coming for the last time later. |
What are you reading, Tamo? Are you ok with this being the last visit?
I've done all my tasks for today so trying to find other things to do. Even though I'm reading Cathy Glass's new book it's still hard to focus on reading. I need to tidy up some boxes under my desk but it seems like too much work! |
I unfortunately did not get to skip the queue this time!
Also went to asda, saw cucumbers for 35p but they were 75p on the till. I asked the self service lady and she said it was half cucumbers. I went back to check and it definitely said whole cucumbers 35p. So went to customer service and she gave me the difference in change. They were actually 75p and it was an error, but I'm pretty sure there's a law where things have to be sold at the marked price, even if it's wrongful. So got lucky! They'll change it now no doubt, so luckily i got 2 XD Usually i wouldn't bother but I'm so broke rn that literally every penny counts! Usually just binge watch whatever I'm watching at the time! It's the walking dead atm. Just put on a second load of washing. My dobok is the only white clothing i own so has to be washed separately annoyingly. I used to love Cathy glass books. Rather depressing though! |
