not_so_insig 09-01-2023 01:12 PM

He is only 4 so still fairly young.

one_step_closer 09-01-2023 01:18 PM

Does he sit on your lap?

not_so_insig 09-01-2023 01:20 PM

He half sits on my lap. He sat on my mum's lap the other day though.

tamobhuuta 09-01-2023 02:09 PM

Hi guys. N never brushed her cat. He preferred just to shed everywhere.

I was all ready to have the veggie option at lunch but I heard another patient say it was too spicy. I am such a baby when it comes to spice!

one_step_closer 09-01-2023 02:22 PM

Half a lap is better than nothing, maybe he'll progress.

I'm not so good with spice either, Tamo. Did they manage to get you an alternative?

tamobhuuta 09-01-2023 02:26 PM

No. Cereal bar it is. But a tasty one! With a yoghurty coating! And a nice cup of tea :)

one_step_closer 09-01-2023 02:34 PM

Those kind of bars are nice. :-) I'd leave the tea though! Do you ever drink any flavoured teas?

tamobhuuta 09-01-2023 02:37 PM

I like herbal teas. Especially pukka, and best of all the night ones. Mum got me a whole box of just night ones! I also like posh teas like ceylon and darjeeling. Do you like any tea at all?

Cacoethes 09-01-2023 02:39 PM

I'm not a fan of herbal teas. Ugh!

tamobhuuta 09-01-2023 02:41 PM

I find mint and camomile a bit boring but I like most others. I think you're weird!

one_step_closer 09-01-2023 02:42 PM

I don't like tea at all. Or coffee. I tried a gingerbread tea someone gave me but it just tasted too much like tea!

Cacoethes 09-01-2023 02:49 PM

I like normal tea but rarely drink it.
I prefer coffee

one_step_closer 09-01-2023 02:59 PM

Do you still get your caramel coffee sachet things, Beckie?

Cacoethes 09-01-2023 03:36 PM

I don't get the caramel ones often now because £19 is a lot to spend at once on just coffee.
I've been getting non-caramel sachets from asda. Which definitely works out more expensive in the end but a box is 1.10. Which I'm more likely to have.

one_step_closer 09-01-2023 04:40 PM

That's a shame you can't be having the caramel ones ALL the time. At least you're getting coffee though.

Cacoethes 09-01-2023 04:45 PM

Sometimes i can't afford it and i struggle tbh!
As long as I have some form of caffeine I'm ok
If i have no caffeine I get AWFUL headaches that painkillers won't shift

one_step_closer 09-01-2023 04:53 PM

I'm glad I don't drink coffee! I only drink caffeine in soft drinks and I don't drink much. Just shout if you're about to have a coffee running out time and I will send reinforcements (sometimes)!

Cacoethes 09-01-2023 05:02 PM

Yes it's best not to get addicted like I am!
Thank you! That's very kind!

one_step_closer 09-01-2023 05:48 PM

Do you remember when you first started drinking coffee?

Cacoethes 09-01-2023 05:51 PM

I have distinct memories of drinking it in the adolescent unit, so I was probably 13-14 when i started.
I did go through tea phases and coffee phases until a couple of years ago when it stuck on coffee!
I drink tea.when I go to my mum's. But only because they grind their coffee beans and Idk how to do it.

one_step_closer 09-01-2023 06:06 PM

Ok, you must be properly addicted now.

What are you doing this evening?

Cacoethes 09-01-2023 06:11 PM

Definitely!
Though I'm pretty sure they try to use decaff in hospitals. I imagine they would in adolescent.
The smoking age was 16 back then. Wild.

Nothing.
I need to do dinner at some point
I'm trying to watch tv but i can't focus at all
I 'watched' a whole film just now but couldn't tell you anything about it!

How about you?

Zurg 09-01-2023 07:35 PM

Mmmm…. Coffee is soooo good!!!
I spent most of my many sections sitting in a comfy chair and smoking and drinking coffee. There was nothing else to do. I really sympathise with the patients that didn't smoke or enjoy coffee :(
Tbh, i still spend admisisons, however short, in the smoking area with a cup of coffee. Hospitals are ****ing boring!! Minus three stars, would not recommend!!!

Cacoethes 09-01-2023 07:41 PM

You can't even smoke in hospital here anymore. You need to have leave written up and have to go off site. And even then, you only get let out 4 times a day. Unless something is kicking off and the staff can't take you at all.
Thank **** I don't smoke anymore

tamobhuuta 09-01-2023 09:59 PM

All the smokers here vape as well and they're allowed to do that anywhere.

Cacoethes 10-01-2023 08:33 AM

We were allowed disposable vapes anywhere. But not proper vapes that need to be charged.

Morning everyone

Zurg 10-01-2023 11:07 AM

I vape too but that counts as smoking in danish hospitals. The mental hospital has closed gardens with very high fences around them and that is where people are allowed to smoke/vape.

Also, morning all :)
How are you all??

Cacoethes 10-01-2023 11:45 AM

We used to be able to smoke in the gardens, but years ago, the NHS decided that they need to set an example and not allow smoking on ANY Nhs hospital grounds.
Pretty much no one agrees with it,.even staff and non smokers!

Morning!
I'm ok. Though it is pouring down and got soaked going to and from the gym!

tamobhuuta 10-01-2023 12:00 PM

It's so dark here, it looks like evening.
I've got ward rounds at 12pm and my mum's coming so she's coming to see me before.

Cacoethes 10-01-2023 12:14 PM

Very dark here too

Good luck for ward round!

tamobhuuta 10-01-2023 12:16 PM

Thanks. Are you up to much today?

Zurg 10-01-2023 12:22 PM

Hope ward round Will be okay for you, Tamo :)

It's sunny here!!! Gasp!!! Horror!!! Disbelief!!!!

I'm trying to decide that i feel okay with cleaning Findus' litter box and thus also hoover my flat…. After this cup of coffee!!!!

tamobhuuta 10-01-2023 12:29 PM

Definitely coffee first!

Cacoethes 10-01-2023 12:59 PM

Had gym this morning, pilates later and glow beatz.
Probably asda too. Currently watching a series about the ebola outbreak. Not a documentary.

Sun?! What's that?! :tongue2:

tamobhuuta 10-01-2023 01:53 PM

What is glow beatz?

I had ward rounds, 20 minutes late! Fine for me but Mum was taking time out of work.

Cacoethes 10-01-2023 01:57 PM

It's dance exercise. In the dark with LED glow sticks and disco lights!
Lots of fun!

Ward round is ALWAYS late. My record is 2 hours late.
I'm always more shocked when they're on time

tamobhuuta 10-01-2023 02:08 PM

Lol we actually started without the psych because he was too busy to be there! Oh and I made them throw out the students, just because.

I've waited an hour for a GP. I think I've waited longer for a psych but usually here they don't tell you what time they plan to see you, they only set a time today because Mum was coming.

not_so_insig 10-01-2023 02:13 PM

Hello all. I had a new phone this morning. Took me over 2 hours to set up the damned thing. Now I have to put in my passwords everywhere.

Cacoethes 10-01-2023 02:16 PM

Fair enough!
It can be overwhelming with lots of students in there
I like students, both dr and nurse
I like to teach them things they won't learn at uni. Such as the phrase 'i couldn't possibly comment'. Which is used mainly when you're complaining about a staff member and they agree with you, but they can't say that they agree.

They always have times written on a piece of paper for ward round in my local wards. They get put up in the office window. Though times are pretty useless as they never run on time and it just stresses some patients out if they're late

tamobhuuta 10-01-2023 02:26 PM

Ooo a new phone, is it fancy? I found getting a new cover complicated enough (it allowed me to set up fingerprint recognition).

I had a "I can't comment on members of staff but" when I was questioning another nurse.

not_so_insig 10-01-2023 02:34 PM

It's the same as my old phone but a newer model. So I am mostly used to it. A few things are different though.

Cacoethes 10-01-2023 02:52 PM

I honestly find it hilarious when they do it.
Because there's usually a smile that they try to hide
Also had to teach a student not to say the Q word.

tamobhuuta 10-01-2023 03:04 PM

What's the Q word?

Cacoethes 10-01-2023 03:13 PM

Quiet.
You NEVER say that word in ANY hospital!
Or any care setting really!

tamobhuuta 10-01-2023 03:16 PM

Lol
...

Cacoethes 10-01-2023 03:28 PM

Even when people say it at my work, still not a great idea!
Like saying the word 'easy' at the gym. Lol

one_step_closer 10-01-2023 06:15 PM

Hey everyone. I hope you all had a good day and are also having a good evening.

I've never heard of the 'easy' thing in gyms. I was at the gym group today. It was good to get back into it. I really like the people.

Cacoethes 10-01-2023 07:16 PM

I didn't know either until someone told me he intentionally makes it harder if someone claims it's easy XD
Same at pilates actually.

I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I spent £1.40 on a non essential food item and I am feeling much regret

Cacoethes 11-01-2023 09:33 AM

Morning everyone

tamobhuuta 11-01-2023 11:38 AM

Morning, how are you?
