Cacoethes 05-11-2022 05:29 PM

Haha!
I've never been scared of the daleks.
The empty child however...hell to the no!

Love a bit of sassy dalek! XD
Cybermen didn't have great comebacks though! They need to work on it.

one_step_closer 05-11-2022 05:32 PM

I have never watched Doctor Who, am I in the minority?

Cacoethes 05-11-2022 05:39 PM

Probably!
Doctor who is awesome!

nonperson 05-11-2022 05:40 PM

I was going to be mean and say the empty child's catchphrase but I won't =P

Maybe in the minority but there are a lot of people who haven't ever watched it.

tamobhuuta 05-11-2022 05:46 PM

The Empty Child terrified me!

Cacoethes 05-11-2022 05:56 PM

Haha!
Thank you :p

I was also freaked out by Gwen saying 'the big bad wolf"
The whole bad wolf thing was just so....ominous!

Elmer 05-11-2022 06:05 PM

Leaping in to remind everyone about the Weeping Angels D=

Cacoethes 05-11-2022 06:11 PM

I was never too bothered by the weeping angels!
Obviously freaky but didn't affect me like the empty child!
Although, when I went to Prague I did keep a close eye on the statues I saw in a churchyard....

Elmer 05-11-2022 06:18 PM

The first Weeping Angels episode really messed with me. I was on an adolescent ward and I made everyone watch Dr Who with me every week. Unfortunately the ward I was in was in a big old country house surrounded by, um, statues.

I wasn't too popular for that :')

Has the new series actually started or was the episode the other week a one off?

Cacoethes 05-11-2022 06:20 PM

Ohhh that probably wasn't the best episode to watch in that particular situation!

I'm not actually sure! *heads off to google*

I had never watched it until recently as I decided I should let my Doctor Who enthusiast irl bestie show me what it's all about. Empty Child is one of the ones he showed me and it was rather scary.
I haven't seen the most recent episode but from the fourteen messages in a row that said friend sent, I'm guessing it was good...

Cacoethes 05-11-2022 06:22 PM

Ok so apparently the new series hasn't started yet.
But I'm still not 100% sure as my attention span has been especially **** lately and i only skimmed!

It was a good episode!

Elmer 05-11-2022 06:23 PM

I was reading a Reddit thread about a cat, and someone gave away the ending of the most recent episode.

I was cross. It had been like a week and it wasn't a discussion about TV or Dr Who or anything :(

nonperson 05-11-2022 06:25 PM

Argh, not the weeping angels! They freak me out. I also can't look at statues in the same way now.

Cacoethes 05-11-2022 06:27 PM

Oh noooo!
That's just mean.
Should at least be a spoiler alert at the top of the page!!

I mean, statues are kinda creepy as it is

I missed this - lol! Maybe I need to get M to show me this episode?

Cacoethes 05-11-2022 07:06 PM

I'm cooking Moroccan style salmon.
My house smells of fish already.....its only been in 5 minutes! :ermm:

one_step_closer 05-11-2022 07:18 PM

In my previous place we had one of those pulley things in the kitchen to dry clothes and the clothes often ended up smelling like what I'd been cooking. It was disgusting, especially when I cooked fish.

YES

nonperson 05-11-2022 07:40 PM

Mmm salmon.

I'm making stuffed jacket potatoes because it is bonfire night and that is the rule.

Pi.R^2 05-11-2022 07:44 PM

Beckie - hope you enjoy your salmon despite the smell!
Lindsay- that does sound a bit gross =S
np - I have passed on your enthusiastic yes! What are you stuffing your jacket potatoes with?

Pi.R^2 05-11-2022 07:44 PM

Also *waves at Lio viewing the thread*

nonperson 05-11-2022 07:47 PM

I decided to go all out this year so I've got some of that black sticks blue cheese for one and then cheddar and some fake bacon pieces for the other. It's going to be a feast.

nonperson 05-11-2022 07:48 PM

My favourite was a few years ago when I used up some special red coloured cheese that was flavoured with port and it turned the potatoes pink. =P

Cacoethes 05-11-2022 08:06 PM

That doesn't sound pleasant lindsay!
We had a pulley thing in the kitchen when i lived in London with the fam. Can't remember anything smelling in particular though. It was quite a big kitchen i suppose.

Thanks jenna!
The salmon was delicious! Worth the house smelling for a bit!

That sounds amazing np! Jealous!

Pi.R^2 05-11-2022 08:08 PM

Oh my, that sounds good np, enjoy!

Cacoethes 05-11-2022 08:28 PM

There are so many cute guinea pig things I want to buy!
How do i possibly choose??

nonperson 05-11-2022 08:42 PM

What sort of things can Guinea pigs have nowadays? We didn't have much stuff for ours.

not_so_insig 05-11-2022 08:43 PM

My parents have a pulley thing in their house and it doesn't make the clothes smell of cooking. Then again they have a separate utility room and it's located in there rather than the kitchen.

nonperson 05-11-2022 08:48 PM

I burnt some chips once in the oven and the next day everyone at work was complimenting me for smelling of roast potatoes. My uniform was hanging up in the hallway so the smell made it out to there.

Maybe it depends what you're cooking. Burnt smells seem to seep in!

Cacoethes 05-11-2022 09:02 PM

There's all sorts np!
Been scrolling pintrest for ages!
Hideaways and beds and toys and treats! And also the food and bedding and bowls and water bottles etc.!
I need to make a list!

If it was in a separate room and not the kitchen then it wouldn't smell of food!

Lol np!

If I've cooked something in the oven, the kitchen and living room will smell of general cooking for a bit. But not long! And the smell doesn't make it upstairs

nonperson 05-11-2022 09:07 PM

I miss smell.

This topic is depressing me... *sob*

nonperson 05-11-2022 09:08 PM

*dramatically flounces out of the thread*

Cacoethes 05-11-2022 09:32 PM

Smell isn't all that really!

But we haven't had a good dramatic flounce in a while! :tongue2:

nonperson 05-11-2022 10:12 PM

Smell is all that when you don't have it!

*reluctantly flounces back in* =P

Cacoethes 05-11-2022 10:18 PM

That is a good point!

Haha! :tongue2:

nonperson 05-11-2022 10:20 PM

I think I'm getting the hang of this flouncing thing. I should do it more often. It's all in the flicky head action, I think.

Cacoethes 05-11-2022 10:27 PM

I definitely always imagine a head flick when someone flounces!

nonperson 05-11-2022 10:29 PM

For definite. It's got to be just right though - quick and sharp and overexaggerated.

I may have a sore neck tomorrow.......

nonperson 05-11-2022 10:29 PM

Potato time!

Cacoethes 05-11-2022 10:44 PM

Absolutely!

Yummy! Enjoy your potato!

nonperson 05-11-2022 10:48 PM

I did =D

Cacoethes 06-11-2022 09:13 AM

Good!

Morning everyone!
It is raining again! Or still raining!

nonperson 06-11-2022 09:29 AM

Morning. It's pretty grim outside. I think I heard a rumble of thunder too.

Cacoethes 06-11-2022 10:09 AM

Oh no!
Need to go out soon!

Zurg 06-11-2022 10:25 AM

Morning all :)

There's a dramatic pause in the rain here. For dramatic effect!!! I await the sequel with great anticipation XD

Cacoethes 06-11-2022 10:43 AM

Hey zurg!

Haha!
I can't tell if it's still raining or not but it probably is

Zurg 06-11-2022 11:43 AM

It is sunny here, now. Most confusing!!

nonperson 06-11-2022 11:51 AM

It stopped and now has started again. I'm waiting on a message to call me for flat pack duties...

tamobhuuta 06-11-2022 12:35 PM

It's horrid here too.

My mum and sister brought me coffee and honey sandwiches :)
