The only hand held game I've owned is the black and white pocket ganeboy years ago. I don't have the patience for video games.
|
I remember the old game boy.
I saw one of those 'kids react to' videos about game boys. And there was one kid who said 'I've seen an iPhone case that looks like this!' It was a rather depressing watcg! |
Ah kids these days eh. Don't know what they have. :P
|
Yep!!
There was no back light on the old game boys so you had to have the lights on to play it! I don't know if kids these days would cope without their ipads and their smartphones! Tbh I don't think I could cope without my smartphone! I don't know how I would get anywhere without Google maps telling me when the buses and trains are and the walking sat nav! |
I could definitely not cope without my smartphone and sat nav and laptop and all the mod cons.
|
Yep!!
My sister is 12 and I enjoy the look of shock on her face when I say that we only had 5 tv channels (and channel 5 never worked) and we had blackboards at school and when we did eventually get computers, we'd be 2 or 3 to one computer. And that horrible dial up tone with the Internet at home! Ah the memories! |
Ah yes. The sound of dial up and it classes!
|
"Get off the internet, mum needs the phone!!!"
|
Plus unlike today you couldn't have 24 hour Internet unless you paid an enormous amount. I remember the days when you had the internet only between 6 pm and 6 am.
Before that you had to pay per minute. I ran up a £300 phone bill because my parents went on holiday and I was on the Internet 24/7. These days it's rare to have a landline phone bill that much. |
Oh my days I loved those old gameboys *feels old*
Also do people remember that horrendous dialling tone with early internet? |
I had a gameboy. I think that it's somewhere in my parents attic.
Yes I do remember. If you use a fax machine the older ones make the same sound. |
Also Beckie you were lucky having 5 channels. I had 3 and a half channels. I say half because I never had channel 4 only s4c. There were very few channel 4 / English programmes on s4c and if they were on they were either on after 10 pm or days later. Or not at all. At other times it was Welsh language programming. It wasn't until the year 2000 I saw channel 4 for the first time because my parents got sky. So programmes you saw as a kid I never got to see. We were too remote in Wales to get channel 5 until it launched on sky.

Good morning everyone.

Morning :)
|
Good morning all, what is everyone up to today?
|
I am waiting for a parcel. It's coming via a courier so who knows when it will turn up. It's very windy and rainy today so I am glad of an excuse not to go out. I hate the wind because it's impossible to watch the telly because the dish gets knocked around too much. My cat hates the wind because she meows constantly and does my head in. I think she's telling the wind off!
|
Hey guys!!
How are we all? It's pissing it down with rain here! Luckily I did all my shopping yesterday so I can just sit here with tea and blankets watching the rain out of the window :) |
My parcel has arrived. It's terrible here too Beckie. It's been dark all day too.
|
The rains bad here as well plus thunder so secretly glad one appointment in town got cancelled and rearranged and my CPN has agreed to meet at house not town as planned.
|
It's windy too which makes it worse. My cat is doing my head in because she won't shut up. I need to go to the bin but I am procrastinating.
|
It's dry and not windy here, but it's freeeeeeeeeezing.
|
Lucky you Lorraine!
|
It stopped raining a couple of hours ago. Still rather cold!
Manged to write a presentation for English tomorrow. I HATE speaking in front of people but I'm going to have to suck it up! It's only a 5-10 minute presentation so not too bad. I've written it about epilepsy. Any opportunity to spread awareness! |
It's raining here still. It seems to be raining worse and the wind is still the same. I still haven't gone out.
|
It's quite windy here too.
I haven't been out today and I don't plan to go out! I had to wear my big winter coat yesterday. |
Good luck Beckie! You'll be absolutely fine love.
I tried to buy christmas wrapping paper today but they didn't have any in the card shop! Going to pop to pound stretcher now to get some in. |
Thanks J :)
Hope you manage to find some wrapping paper! Weird that they didn't have any in the card shop. It's raining again. |
I really didn't mind the rain until it managed to soak through some of my jacket and make it cold.
I'm definitely wearing my full water proof tomorrow. I like it when it rains because hardly anyone else comes out. |
I like the rain but not when it's all windy as well because my umbrella can't cope in the wind! And the rain goes all sideways so you get wet anyway.
|
It was surprisingly warm here today!
There was a bit of rain, but you couldn't even get wet from it. |
Jammy git :P I don't even feel the cold badly and I've been sat here with multiple hoodies on :P Reminded me of the Friends episode where Joey puts on all Chandler's clothes :P Not helped by my heating being insane and mostly not working -_-
|
Morning guys!
I did not want to get up this morning but I have college :( |
^ have a good day :)
|
Thank you my lovely aardvark!
|
What are people up to this afternoon? The weather seems fine today.
|
Beckie, how did your presentation go? I hope it went well.
|
It's freezing here. I'm having a lazy afternoon. What you up to?
|
It went well thanks Lorraine!
Teacher said he couldn't fault it and even though the class had like a million questions after it, I managed to answer them all so I'm quite proud of myself! It's not that cold here today. Lazy afternoon sounds good! |
That's brilliant. You have every right to be proud. Well done.
|
Well done Beckie.
Good afternoon all <3 |
Thanks :)
Good afternoon Luna! What have you been up to today? |

And hello to everyone else :D
|
Oh no! Did I just out you?!
|
Yes, yes you did. You evil aardvark-outer :P
|
My apologies!
'Evil aardvark outer' best thing I've read in a while! XD |
I am being driven daft by some very loud music. They are having a light switch on in the next village but some council men come into the car park by my flat and play some very loud music for a hour! It's so loud it drowns out the telly.
|
Oh no that's not good! I hope it stops soon.
I'm at the doctors and my doctor is running 25 mins late |
Oh no Beckie that's not too good. The dentist is always late too.
