Cacoethes 03-11-2021 10:16 AM

Helllooo

How are you?

nonperson 03-11-2021 10:27 AM

Mrs Doubtfire, every time.

Tired, surprisingly sore after yoga yesterday...

How're you?

Cacoethes 03-11-2021 10:31 AM

Hell yeah!

Do you have much to do today?

I'm ok thanks!

nonperson 03-11-2021 10:50 AM

Nah nothing to do except the usual list of chores that I'm ignoring...

Anything planned today?

Cacoethes 03-11-2021 11:07 AM

Fun times!

I need to go to asda and pharmacy. And sort out (throw away) 2 boxes of random crap I found in the depths of my airing cupboard!

tamobhuuta 03-11-2021 11:27 AM

Morning all. No joint tea time this morning because N has her counselling but I can still have coffee, maybe even teabag tea.

Cacoethes 03-11-2021 11:29 AM

Morning tamo

Sounds good!

tamobhuuta 03-11-2021 11:32 AM

How are your chores going?

Cacoethes 03-11-2021 11:42 AM

I'm going to go to asda and pharmacy soon.
Waiting for my friend to reply with his address so I can send his (very late) birthday card. It's a cool card. It's a pop up hogwarts castle one!

nonperson 03-11-2021 12:31 PM

Ooh I got that card (or at least similar one) for my mum this year!

I've done some washing up and cleaned up the cat flap ready for reattaching to the wall.

Cacoethes 03-11-2021 12:59 PM

Nice!

Well done!

I've been to asda and pharmacy. Just about to sort the boxes now!

not_so_insig 03-11-2021 01:09 PM

Afternoon all. Beef and ale casserole in my slow cooker today.

Cacoethes 03-11-2021 01:12 PM

Found the most random things in those boxes!
Including a piece of paper from the hospital where I was born with all my birth details on it!
And my signed ticket from Monty Roberts (the horse whisperer)

not_so_insig 03-11-2021 01:28 PM

That's random Beckie

nonperson 03-11-2021 01:54 PM

Were your birth details correct? Now that would be something interesting to discover if they weren't!

Cacoethes 03-11-2021 01:58 PM

Yep all correct (as far as i know.....)

nonperson 03-11-2021 02:01 PM

Phew =P

Also totally going to start calling you Bekkii from now on.

Cacoethes 03-11-2021 02:07 PM

Oh god don't XD
So cringe

nonperson 03-11-2021 02:13 PM

It made me laugh. =P

Did you ever try to be a Bex?

Cacoethes 03-11-2021 02:21 PM

Sometimes I get called Bex!
By family and my best friend
And the owner of the local tattoo studio

one_step_closer 03-11-2021 02:25 PM

Or Bec?

My nickname continuously evolved through primary school and high school. Some people who I was at school with still use my nickname and I'm like, no, I'm just Lindsay now.

nonperson 03-11-2021 02:31 PM

My name isn't very easy to shorten to anything so it's never been a problem.

I don't like it when people assume that a name should be shortened.

Cacoethes 03-11-2021 02:39 PM

Bec happens too sometimes!

I was Rebecca until year 8. Then I was Beckie. Apart from family and close friends who call me Becca or Bex.

Jasmine's name gets shortened quite a lot. To Jaz or Jazzy

nonperson 03-11-2021 02:45 PM

Does she like it? I kinda like Jaz as a shortening but wouldn't assume that's what she'd want to be called. Not sure about Jazzy. Makes me think of Jazzy Jeff. =P

I dunno why no one ever tried shorten mine really. It is possible, but "Chlo" or "Clo" just sounds so lame.

Cacoethes 03-11-2021 02:55 PM

She's never objected!
The adults I know that call her Jazzy have all asked her if she minds
And we as a family generally call her Jaz

Your name is quite short as it is so maybe that's why?

The Worst Witch 03-11-2021 03:11 PM

My brother has a really special nickname for me based on what we used to watch together and if anyone else calls me it I go mental, ha.

Also hate being called Ali in formal settings, I don't mind my friends calling me it but like teachers and support workers and things, I prefer my actual name.

Cacoethes 03-11-2021 03:13 PM

Haha!

I get that.
I would find it weird if like someone from the cmht would call me Beckie

The Worst Witch 03-11-2021 03:15 PM

I feel it blurs the boundaries ab bit, kind of feels overfamiliar

Cacoethes 03-11-2021 03:19 PM

I think that's probably why I feel weird about it

nonperson 03-11-2021 04:21 PM

A sign of me watching too much Doctor Who recently is that this conversation has led me to think about what my Time Lord name would be, because they don't ever shorten those and they sound sufficiently formal!

Cacoethes 03-11-2021 04:35 PM

Interesting thought!
I haven't watched Doctor who in ages!
Do love it though

nonperson 03-11-2021 04:41 PM

I rewatched the whole of the last series and the new episode from Sunday night. It's not the same as it used to be but still worth watching.

Cacoethes 03-11-2021 04:52 PM

I have only watched a few of the first episodes with the female Doctor. I have a lot to be catching up with!

nonperson 03-11-2021 04:59 PM

Only a couple of series. =)

Cacoethes 03-11-2021 05:00 PM

David Tennant is my all time favourite Doctor.
How about you?

not_so_insig 03-11-2021 05:07 PM

I prefer Peter Davison. Especially Black Orchid.

nonperson 03-11-2021 05:15 PM

Ah definitely David Tennant. Or Tom Baker if we're going oldskool. I think the old and new have to be treated as two separate things really.

Cacoethes 03-11-2021 05:20 PM

Yes I agree

Old skool daleks were hilarious though

nonperson 03-11-2021 05:46 PM

All the old monsters and aliens were!

The ones that truly scared me were the ones from the "Robots of Death" story.

Cacoethes 03-11-2021 05:53 PM

Yep!
Although apparently my aunty used to be terrified of the daleks when she was younger. And my mum, being the sympathetic little sister, took the piss out of her for it

I don't remembered that episode!
I don't like the weeping angels
Or the ood

Just remembered I have to shower tonight
Uggggghhhhh

one_step_closer 03-11-2021 05:54 PM

I've never watched Doctor Who.

The football pitch behind my house got new lights put in so they wouldn't have to use the generator any more but I'm sure I can still hear the generator right now.

I hope your shower doesn't take too much effort Beckie. You'll feel nice and clean afterwards.

nonperson 03-11-2021 05:56 PM

Haha! My mum used to chase me and my sister around the house when we were really young yelling "Exterminate!"

Weeping Angels are terrifying! One of the best enemies though. =)

Ugh, go get it out of the way.

nonperson 03-11-2021 05:57 PM

Maybe you're just so used to hearing it that you think you still can, Lindsay? o.O

one_step_closer 03-11-2021 05:58 PM

No, it's definitely on and off. Don't know what they're doing. Can't look out the window because I have a cat on my lap.

nonperson 03-11-2021 06:00 PM

Ah well maybe they're using it for something else.

Cacoethes 03-11-2021 06:03 PM

That sounds irritating Lindsay! Is it very loud?

Haha! That sounds fun np :p

When I was in Prague there was a whole church yard full of weeping angel type statues!

one_step_closer 03-11-2021 06:10 PM

It is loud but I'm used to it.

Got a cat wanting his dinner early now.

Weeping angels sound scary.

Cacoethes 03-11-2021 06:12 PM

Don't cats always want dinner? Lol

They are!

one_step_closer 03-11-2021 06:16 PM

Not when they're asleep! It's nearly his dinner time and he knows it and starts moaning for it early to just in case I happen to forget.

Cacoethes 03-11-2021 06:17 PM

Bless him

I don't really know much about cats
I'm more of a dog person
