Aubergine 19-11-2018 10:00 PM

Glad you're alright, Beckie.

Hey Dawn. :) How're you?

Hey Lillie. I'm sorry that your day was so horrific. :( How're you doing this evening?

Favourite patient of the day:

Me: It'll be about 10 minutes, if you'd like to take a seat.
Patient: Can you not do it in 5? I've got a taxi waiting.
Me: There's one in front so it'll be about 10 minute. I'm really sorry, but I can't promise any sooner than that.
Patient: I just won't take them then *storms off*

STUUUUUUUUPID.

chinahorse 19-11-2018 10:13 PM

Pts are idiots in general I find.

I'm running on sugar and adrenaline. My work day starting with calling an ambulance for my friend (a colleague) at 7.45 and ended at 7.30pm when I got a lift to my door. I have no idea how I am.

Aubergine 19-11-2018 10:16 PM

An ambulance? Oh dear. Are they OK? Sounds like such a tricky day.

chinahorse 19-11-2018 10:22 PM

Mostly- shes at home but rather poorly. It was.

Aubergine 19-11-2018 10:23 PM

Oh dear. Poor thing. Having to call an ambulance is traumatic. *hug*

chinahorse 19-11-2018 10:25 PM

*hugs back*

I dunno, I went into bossy in charge mode and dealt with it.

IM STILL HUNGRY

Aubergine 19-11-2018 10:31 PM

Any food in?

chinahorse 19-11-2018 10:50 PM

No snacks :-(

Am in bed now though with my trusty hot water bottle. It's so cold!

Aubergine 19-11-2018 10:54 PM

Oh. :(

Bed is good. I think I might head to bed soon. Currently wrapped in my heated throw trying to stop the cat stealing my cereal.

chinahorse 19-11-2018 11:02 PM

Maybe he likes cereal- poor deprived Alec :-P

Night x

Aubergine 19-11-2018 11:03 PM

He likes he milk on my cereal! He has his own special kitten milk! :P

Night night.

chinahorse 20-11-2018 08:18 AM

But your milk is better because it's yours!

Morning guys. It's rather chilly. I even have my hat on and don't care that I look like an idiot.

Cacoethes 20-11-2018 08:55 AM

Morning! It is very cold!

Eska 20-11-2018 09:01 AM

Morning! Yes it is.

My train is delayed :(

Cacoethes 20-11-2018 09:06 AM

So is mine.
Probably going to miss my connection :(

Cacoethes 20-11-2018 10:17 AM

I only just managed to get my connection!
Airport here I come!

Eska 20-11-2018 12:49 PM

Exciting times Beckie!

Cacoethes 20-11-2018 12:53 PM

Very!
I'll know my destination in 7 mins!

not_so_insig 20-11-2018 01:12 PM

Exciting times Beckie

not_so_insig 20-11-2018 01:42 PM

I have recieved another postcard from postcrossing today.

Cacoethes 20-11-2018 01:57 PM

Im going to Prague :-D

one_step_closer 20-11-2018 02:01 PM

Afternoon everyone.

I hope you have a lovely time Beckie.

It is freezing here too, I use my headphones to warm my ears.

How are you doing Eska?

Where was the postcard from Dawn?

I seriously, seriously wish there was something people could say if they're approached by charity people but are in some ways vulnerable/easily influenced/scared to say no. I was convinced to donate to Guide Dogs today, monthly direct debit, which is alright since I do believe it's an important charity but the guy kept pushing and I felt pressured and awkward. Luckily I think I have enough money to do this for a while at least, just hoping no other charity people hound me.

Aubergine 20-11-2018 02:18 PM

Have a great time, Beckie! :)

That's cool, Dawn! :)

Hey Lindsay. How are you? Ugh, I know, the number of those people I've signed up to in the past is crazy. Need a flash card or something.

not_so_insig 20-11-2018 02:27 PM

The postcard was from Russia which ironically is where I sent my last postcard to.

Eska 20-11-2018 03:28 PM

Beckie that's awesome! I've heard lovely things about Prague.

Dawn, that's cool. Do you send postcards often?

Lindsay that would be a smart idea. I can't stand being approached in the street.

Aubergine, how are you?

I'm ok, though I have a cold.

one_step_closer 20-11-2018 03:55 PM

How are things Aubergine?

Does it cost loads to send postcards Dawn?

Oh no Eska, colds aren't fun. I seriously wonder what man flu is like as a cold is bad enough! Are you getting any relief?

I'm ??? Going to read for a bit and then try to reply to a pen pal letter which I've been putting off for ages.

not_so_insig 20-11-2018 05:12 PM

I send a postcard approximately once a month. It costs £1.25 to send a postcard abroad. There's a option to receive a postcard within your own country so if that could mean I could have an inland one so it could be cheaper. I bought a load of stamps as it was a pain going to the post office for something that fits in an ordinary post box.

one_step_closer 20-11-2018 07:08 PM

I know what you mean about going to the post office, but I prefer to go every time I send something just to make sure the postage is right. Although I have one of those Royal Mail sizing guide things.

Accidentally Abstract 20-11-2018 07:11 PM

Hi :)

Jeez it's been a bloody long time since I've been here.

one_step_closer 20-11-2018 07:14 PM

Hello, hello.

Welcome back. :-) How are things with you?

zombiehunter 20-11-2018 07:24 PM

*wanders the **** in*

one_step_closer 20-11-2018 07:26 PM

Hi Zombie, how is your day going?

Accidentally Abstract 20-11-2018 07:28 PM

Up & down, same old same old really.

How are you both?

chinahorse 20-11-2018 07:33 PM

With charity sign ups you can say you're under 18 even if you're blatantly not they can't talk to you. Or just cancel the direct debit as soon as you can.

one_step_closer 20-11-2018 07:34 PM

Don't really know how I am Lucy. Are you up to much this evening?

Lillie, I did think about cancelling it but worry that the guy will somehow find out.

zombiehunter 20-11-2018 07:42 PM

my day is going well thanks OSC, eating my ****ing dinner just now :-D

Accidentally Abstract 20-11-2018 07:43 PM

Nope, I'm just home this evening. Might make some dinner soon. You got anything planned?

Eugh I hate those charity people. I've taken up a new way of dealing with some of them lately (when I feel strong enough to) which doesn't result in me signing up to things I shouldn't - I tell them I've got mental health difficulties which make it difficult for me to say no to them but that I really shouldn't sign up financially. Then try to escape as quickly as I can whilst being polite. It's always so awkward.

zombiehunter 20-11-2018 07:52 PM

with chuggers I avoid eye contact, if they say anything I politely and bluntly say no and if they say anything after that I start being cheeky :-p

Accidentally Abstract 20-11-2018 07:57 PM

^ Yeah I try to avoid eye contact or say 'no thank you' where possible.
