Jen has appeared! Hello!

Using your phone less does sound like a sensible adult thing to do, I really ought to decrease my screen time. I usually say no screens for 45 minutes before bed but I often cheat and go on my phone. How have you been feeling today? Mmm brinner, hot tomatoes are sometimes yuck for me though, and no sausages?

Hope you're enjoying Glow Beatz, Beckie.

long road 27-06-2023 08:05 PM

Hello!

It was only for today not going to take myself away from my phone everyday! Although in general using it a little less would be good.

A bit anxious for no apparent reason today. And a bit tired and achy (still recovering from doing a lot at our BBQ on Sunday I think).

Brinner was tasty. No sausages because sausages didn't arrive in our click and collect shop. I don't usually have hot tomatoes but had some little tomatos leftover from the BBQ that needed using up. And I much prefer hot tomatoes to cold /raw ones.

one_step_closer 27-06-2023 08:10 PM

I hope you can take some time to do what you need to recover. Glad you enjoyed Brinner. You always seem to have tasty food!

I just bought a hand held mirror that says 'you are absolutely beautiful' not for myself and I don't know who I'd give it to but it was too lovely not to buy. Hope I can gift it to someone at some point.

long road 27-06-2023 08:22 PM

I know what I like I guess, so most of my dinners I find tasty! It helps that I have my partner to share the cooking and in recent years do most of the cooking. I think the other thing that helps is meal planning. I plan out what we will have for main meals when I do the click and collect order online each week and get the appropriate ingredients. Then we have whichever meal we feel like from the list each day although if something has a short date it gets eaten first.

This week's meal plan is Brinner, Tuna Pasta Bake w/ salad, Veggie Rissoto, Roast Chicken w/ roast potatoes and parsnips, carrots and broccoli, Fishcakes w/ wedges and salad, Sausage Root Veg Stovie (although we will have to go to shop to get sausages as they didn't arrive). Oh and on Monday we had takeaway.

That mirror sounds sweet. I hope you find just the right person to gift it too.

Cacoethes 27-06-2023 09:01 PM

Hello jen!
Glad you're ok. Sounds like you needed a chilled day!
I LOVE breakfast for dinner!

not_so_insig 27-06-2023 09:33 PM

I feel emotionally exhausted having to deal with lots of people this week. My parents came this evening as well as dealing with the shower man and the parcel man. Then having to deal with people yesterday.

I hope that you find someone to gift the mirror to Lindsay. It sounds lovely.

long road 27-06-2023 10:02 PM

Definitely needed a chill day. Now feeling randomly emotional. Did manage to hop in the shower at 9pm though so I am now nice and clean in fresh pyjamas.

How was glow beats Beckie?

Hope you can have a chill day tomorrow Dawn sounds like you need one!

not_so_insig 27-06-2023 10:12 PM

Yes I think that I need one too. Might have one tomorrow.

Cacoethes 28-06-2023 05:47 AM

Glow beatz was good thanks jen!

Morning everyone!

tamobhuuta 28-06-2023 09:54 AM

Morning early bird. How are you?

Cacoethes 28-06-2023 10:02 AM

Morning!
Ok thanks. Managed to get a drs appointment for 10:30

How are you?

tamobhuuta 28-06-2023 11:41 AM

That's good. I am ok. I phoned my CPN to chase him about getting a support worker but he didn't pick up. So I left an answer phone message and texted him. He shall not escape me!

long road 28-06-2023 12:07 PM

Afternoon Everyone!

Hope your doctor's appointment went ok Beckie.

Hope your CPN gets back to you soon Tamo.

I am in my garden drinking coffee and listening to early 2010's Drum and Bass. I think my OT was meant to be calling today at 12 but she often runs late. Going to chill until then

Cacoethes 28-06-2023 12:10 PM

Hopefully your cpn calls back soon!

Hey jen!

My doctors appointment was 35 mins late and ultimately unhelpful. I cried a lot. Lol.
Will rv about it later probably!

Sounds very chill jen! Hope she calls soon!

long road 28-06-2023 12:32 PM

*sending hugs if you would like them*
Venting in your RV sounds a good plan.

Just had the call and it went pretty well. Have a plan for next thing to try hard to make part of regular routine which is my physio exercises stretching everyday and strengthening twice a week. Then will check in with her again in a few weeks.

Now back to some Calvin Harris! Which now I think about it is technically EDM rather than Drum and Bass. Oh well!

one_step_closer 28-06-2023 12:41 PM

Afternoon everyone.

Keep going with your CPN, Tamo. You might have to invest in a net to catch him! I hope he gets back to you soon and is helpful.

I hate when people don't call at the exact time they say they will, makes me so panicky. Glad your call went well, Jen. Do you have neighbours who can also enjoy/hate your music?!

I hope you're ok, Beckie. Sorry the appointment was unhelpful. Not fair. :( *hugs if ok*

I got up at 10.25am. Just within my ok get up timeframe but has still panicked me a bit. I don't want to be doing this all the time now. Washed my hair. Ordered an Asda delivery for tomorrow but don't think I got much. Need to put the bin out and fill the bird feeders later.

not_so_insig 28-06-2023 12:46 PM

Afternoon all. I had a disturbed night's sleep hence why I have only not very long woken up. My cat has decided to sit next to me. He's a good boy. He is enjoying me talking to him and he is listening to every word.

one_step_closer 28-06-2023 12:49 PM

Sorry to hear you had a disturbed sleep, Dawn. Are you ok? I hope you can have a nice peaceful day and a better sleep tonight. I love sitting talking to Crookshanks, at night I tell him all my plans for the next day plus the usual telling him that he's such a cute boy etc. Cats are great, I'm glad you have yours.

not_so_insig 28-06-2023 12:54 PM

Yes I am ok thanks Lindsay. Perhaps it was best that I have a quiet day as I have done a lot of peopling this week. Apart from cleaning the litter tray and taking the recycling boxes out I havent got anything to do today.

one_step_closer 28-06-2023 12:55 PM

Yeah, peopling can be really difficult and draining. I'm glad you can have some time to yourself today. Any idea what you might do today apart from the little tasks?

tamobhuuta 28-06-2023 01:00 PM

I'm glad your call was ok LR.

I'm sorry your appointment was unhelpful Cacoethes.

Well done for getting up in your time frame osc.

A quiet day sounds good insig.

not_so_insig 28-06-2023 01:14 PM

Apart from watching TV I will probably read more of my book Lindsay.

Thanks tamobhuuta.

long road 28-06-2023 01:18 PM

I have many neighbours as I live in a small block of 6 flats, with houses behind. However I am a considerate neighbour and listen to music on my headphones.

Sorry you are feeling panicked Lindsay. Can you do something for yourself today? Could you log on and check there is enough stuff in your Asda order and update the basket if not?

I am inside now. Have put on a load of washing and put the white t-shirt with a coffee stain in to soak.

Going to meditate, make lunch and then maybe head back out as I was really vibing. I only came in because I had to pee and then got distracted by chores.

not_so_insig 28-06-2023 01:33 PM

I live in a similar position to you Jen a block of 6 flats with houses and flats nearby. Although I do live opposite a sheltered accommodation block which can be noisy with people. They also have a loud doorbell/intercom system which can be heard in my flat. It's a tad annoying at times.

one_step_closer 28-06-2023 01:34 PM

Hope you enjoy your reading and TV, Dawn.

What are you getting up to, Tamo?

I do like a considerate neighbour! I hope you get your lunch etc and can go back into your garden and continue with your good vibes.

I'm not sure what I could do for myself today. I think I got all I need from Asda plus a couple of new things to try. It just costs so much now for a smaller amount of things.

not_so_insig 28-06-2023 01:39 PM

Lol I have had an birthday treat email from Yours Clothing today offering me 10% off. My birthday was in February so they're a tad late in wishing me happy birthday.

long road 28-06-2023 02:17 PM

Meditation and lunch done.

Remembered my partner's sister is visiting this afternoon so decided to stay in for now to save energy. It's a bit of a grey day anyway so there's a chance of rain.

That's annoying about being able to hear the shelters accommodation intercom Dawn. My block of flats has a very noisy intercom and it beeps whenever the door is open I am on the ground floor and can hear it through my living room wall! Luckily as there are only 6 flats it doesn't go off super often.

Maybe you put an alternate birthday into Yours Clothing Dawn? Sometimes I do that so a site doesn't have my actual DOB

tamobhuuta 28-06-2023 02:46 PM

I made myself a latte in my Velvetiser which was delicious. My book from Waterstones just arrived. I'm still waiting to hear from my CPN. Now I'm watching Casualty.

long road 28-06-2023 03:18 PM

Ooh a latte. Love a latte!

What book did you get?

Is casualty a good substitute for doctors?

one_step_closer 28-06-2023 03:33 PM

You deserve two birthdays, Dawn! When Paperchase was about and I was using the online link for my £5 birthday voucher it kept allowing me to use it for multiple orders which was a nice glitch!

I hope you enjoy the visit, Jen. Oh dear, ominous grey skies!

Sounds good, Tamo. Do you keep up with Casualty? *pokes Tamo's CPN*

tamobhuuta 28-06-2023 03:35 PM

It's not as good as doctors, more serious. I've gone as far back as I can on the iplayer.

one_step_closer 28-06-2023 03:39 PM

Is it good enough to pass some time while Doctors isn't showing?

tamobhuuta 28-06-2023 03:48 PM

Yeah, it'll do!

one_step_closer 28-06-2023 03:59 PM

Hope you can get to know the characters and storyline soon. I usually watch it on Sundays on catch up.

long road 28-06-2023 04:10 PM

Didn't have a visit in the end as bless my partner's sister she accidentally fell asleep this afternoon when she was meant to visit. Glad she got some rest though, our nephew has been waking her up super early lately and this afternoon while he is at nursery is a good time to catch up. Sad not to see her but we will try again next week.

I am now going to try and nap myself.

Cacoethes 28-06-2023 04:34 PM

Afternoon guys!

tamobhuuta 28-06-2023 04:57 PM

Hope you're enjoying your nap lr.

How are you Cacoethes?

Cacoethes 28-06-2023 05:09 PM

I'm ok thanks.
Tired!

You?

one_step_closer 28-06-2023 05:26 PM

I hope you're managing a nap, Jen.

Hey Beckie, do you have a busy evening again?

Cacoethes 28-06-2023 05:38 PM

Nah. Just glow beatz and shower. And put washing away.
Picked up meds today and put those in the dosset box.
The dr sent through a zopiclone prescription today, the pharmacist asked if it was urgent and i said no, she asked if it was ok to come back tomorrow, at which point one of the other staff heard it was me and said she'd do it now! So sweet considering they are extra busy now because the pharmacy in sainsburys (which had 3000 people on the books Apparently) has closed. The remaining pharmacies are struggling.

You got any plans this evening lindsay?

tamobhuuta 28-06-2023 05:55 PM

I've been struggling but taken some PRN which has helped.

long road 28-06-2023 05:57 PM

I napped. Got an hour and a bit. Bit groggy now but hoping that will fade soon. Got roleplaying tonight at around 8pm where we are on the trails of some demons and a rogue druid.

one_step_closer 28-06-2023 06:01 PM

I hope Glow Beatz improves your day. Love to your pharmacy <3 so you've got the Zopiclone now? I hope it helps you. I don't like taking it because they don't let you stay on it for long and when I've come off it my sleep feels even worse than before. I hope you don't experience that.

I never really do anything in the evening. I wouldn't go out like you do, it feels too late.

Sorry to hear you've been struggling, Tamo, but I'm really glad you took your PRN and it helped.

This role playing sounds quite scary, Jen!

nonperson 28-06-2023 06:06 PM

Evening all. I'm well behind the conversation but just want to say that this:

...is adorable! I chatter to Geordi a lot too and recently was thinking about a new thread for the things we say to our pet friends.

one_step_closer 28-06-2023 06:08 PM

He sits and stares at me taking it all in and then gives me kisses. He is too much! He likes to sit with me on the rocking chair for 45 minutes before I head to bed, I lay on the floor a couple of nights but he wasn't impressed so I moved to the rocking chair. What do you say to Geordi?

one_step_closer 28-06-2023 06:15 PM

This is him sitting enjoying strokes and chat and kisses and then when he's done he lies on my legs and snoozes.

Cacoethes 28-06-2023 06:24 PM

Adorable <3

nonperson 28-06-2023 06:29 PM

He's a beauty! I've got a proper soft spot for ginger cats. He has a great sideways sleeping grin, if you know what I mean. I also randomly love the colour of your walls. =o

Geordi isn't a kisser but he loves head rubs and belly rubs and flopping around on the floor and stomping all over me when I'm laying on the sofa. I ask him if he's a gorgeous boy a lot! But I say all sorts of stuff to him, like planning my day or asking him what he wants for dinner and what I should do for mine. He's chatty and a bit shouty sometimes so there's often a lot of me telling him to "please stop making that terrible noise, no one wants to hear that!" And also when it's bed time he's usually dozing on his bed on the sofa with me in the evening so I tell him it's bed time and that he's welcome to come up and join me but it's ok if he's comfy where he is. He normally follows me up but sometimes I hear the cat flap go and feel sad that he chose outside instead of me, lol!

That was long, sorry XD

nonperson 28-06-2023 06:35 PM

Oh and we also have endless serious conversations about his bad behaviour but he doesn't listen!

Cacoethes 28-06-2023 06:38 PM

I wish the guinea pigs were more affectionate sometimes!
But being prey animals, it's not really a thing they do!
Though pippin does give me little nibbles/licks, which is probably because he thinks I'm food, but i like to think it's affection XD
They show affection in other ways. Like coming to greet me and eating food out of my hand and wheeking at me!
They just aren't a fan of cuddles!

Ahahaha! Endless conversations about his bad behaviour XD

Tbh, i have to tell Merry to stop being a d*ck multiple times a day
