Well done for asda ing Cacoethes.
|
Gah to the idiot, stopping your trolley horizontal on the aisle is against supermarket etiquette :nono:
Well done for still gettin in and out in ten minutes though, super speedy! I have watched some of the old doctors but only bits here and there. Usually when I found them on one of the random Freeview channels like the Horror (?) Channel. I havent had Freeview in 7 years so I forget the name. I got my Dad the first doctors first season as a Christmas present ages ago and we watched the first couple of episodes together. Very of the time (1st doctor is a bit sexist) but still enjoyable. |
More Doctor Who chat! This seems to happen at least once a day.
Well done with managing to shower, Jen. I hope you do go into your garden, is the weather nice? It's sunny here. Well done for surviving Asda, Beckie. Some people just don't think. |
It's is very sunny here. Luckily I have my gazebo up so if it's too hot there is shade. I really want to go out but trying to be patient and let my lungs settle down post shower first. Have taken my inhaler.
|
Would being outside worsen your breathing if you don't try and settle things down before?
|
Well being outside means walking to get outside which isn't far but currently could make me a little short of breath. And pollen can trigger me sometimes although it's worse with trees and flowers than grass. So letting breathing settle first is the sensible plan.
|
Thanks guys! I'm always speedy in asda. I get pretty much the same things every time! So i could probably do the shop with my eyes closed!
The weather is lovely here too! |
That sounds like a challenge, shopping with your eyes closed, however I won't suggest you try it due to the idiots who park trolleys horizontally among other hazards!
Now we just need a weather report from Wales and the north and we will know if the weather is nice pretty much everywhere in the UK. I don't think anyone lives in the middle but never mind. |
Yes, i won't be trying it anytime soon!
My mum is technically midlands i believe! Or at least very close to where the Midlands starts! And the weather is good there |
It is very hot and sunny here. Thankfully my flat is North East facing so doesn't get too hot in the summer.
|
I hope your breathing settles and you can get outside and enjoy it, Jen.
You better hope they don't rearrange the store then, Beckie! Dawn (wherever you are - hope you eventually see this) thank you so much for the card it was really lovely and thoughtful. :-) |
And a Dawn appears!
|

I think that must be a typo and it is meant to say Tom Baker. |
They haven't rearranged the store in years, so i should be ok!
|
They might do it again just to be irritating.
|

Jenna we still need a weather report from the North! |

It's brightening up here but I'm still in a hoodie and oodie.
|
Are you cold, Tamo?
|
They probably will
According to google, it kind of straddles the south and the Midlands. |
Lindsay I am glad that you got the card. I know that you didn't get any positive response in your penpal group so I thought that I would send you an card. I hope that you weren't offended by the heart on the front and that you liked the stamp.

I have made it outside there is a gentle breeze keeping ifrom being too hot although when it gusts it's a little chilly in the shade. Partner is just making lunch so we can eat outside
|
What's for lunch?
|
I am about 8 miles from Shropshire which is in the Midlands. Buses go regularly too. I get Midlands radio station on a regular radio.
|
Chicken mayo sandwich, and some cucumber sticks to dip in caramelised onion hummus. I love hummus but never know how to spell it. Is it hummus or houmous? My spell checker recognises both! Or is there a third option?
|
Quote:
I suppose you can do both unless someone who actually lives in the Midlands appears to contradict your reports! |
I'm pretty sure hummus is the American spelling.
It says houmous on the packets. |
What Cacoethes said.
I was chilly this morning. Now I have removed my oodie because my bedroom was warm, but do have a blanket now I'm downstairs! |
But what do middle eastern people spell it like? They are the ones who invented it. Also woe is me if I have been predominantly using the American spelling. I try and always use English ones or those of the language the word is from for foreign dishes etc.
Just headed inside as I was starting to get tired. A bit short of breath but not too bad. About to go for a lie down. See you all later! |
I imagine we made up the name.
Like how 'apple' is different in other languages. |
The card was perfect, Dawn. I am going to try and read it frequently.
I'm so glad you got outside and had a nice lunch, Jen. I hope your lie down gives you a bit of a boost or at least feels ok. Are some parts of your house generally cooler, Tamo? I'm sad you're having to cover up on such a nice day. Although I am wearing a jumper right now. Houmous is weird. |
I loooove houmous!
I nearly got some today but couldn't work it into my budget sadly! |
Oh, that's a shame. I hope you can have it sometime soon. Have you ever made it from scratch?
|
In other news I got up in the middle of the night to cook onion rings.
|
I have!
It's SO easy to make!. Lol. I've donw things like that. Usually when i have the zoomies. I once made mac and cheese, with the cheese sauce from scratch! |
Mac and cheese in the middle of the night? That's adventurous!
I'm always snacking through the night but don't have much in so onion rings seemed to be the only option. |
Yep!
I'm pretty sure the purple bread attempt was also in the middle of the night Fair enough! |
My bedroom is the hottest part of the house in summer, the coldest in winter.
|
Night time is not for cooking, you'd get bad points on that in a fire risk assessment!
That sounds very annoying, Tamo. |
My house generally stays a pretty neutral temperature.
I know. But when you're awake all night, what else can you do?! |
It's better since I got a duel heater/cooler machine, and I've got blankets and hot water bottles for winter. Summer is worse.
|
Yeah summer is always worse!
|
There were a few days last summer when I had to sleep downstairs, even with my cooling machine!
|
I managed to rest just about. Didn't sleep though. Lay down and listened to some music but my mind was racing and full of thoughts and I kept shifting about. Still better than doing things for my body.
Going to attempt to roleplay tonight as we are having our first Friday game in almost a month (different people from the group keep being unavailable and we are on the final mission so we don't want anyone to miss a session). Last session finished with us accidentally disturbing a meeting of some alien robots so we shall see how hard a fight it is. |
I tried sleeping on the floor and sofa in the heat last year. Only one night was bad though.
I need to get a new fan. I used jasmine's when i was at mum's (their house gets ridiculously hot) and it was amazing! It actually blew cold air, not just moved warm air about! Was from costco. So hopefully I'll be able to afford one soon! Hope you manage it jen! |
I concur that being hot is much worse than being cold. Cold is much easier to fix than hot.
|
Gotta love Costco!
I'm glad you got a bit of rest LR, and I hope you get to do your role playing this evening. |
I just complain whether it's hot or cold!
I hope your sort of rest allows you to manage role play, Jen. |
It really is. You can always put more layers on, there's only so many you can take off without being arrested...
Apparently it's gonna get up to 21°c tomorrow. I'll have to wear jogging bottoms over my dobok bottoms, and a jacket over the top. Because people really like to stare when you're walking around in a dobok. I'm going to be rather warm i think! |
