Cacoethes 25-01-2020 09:47 PM

Haha!!!

nonperson 25-01-2020 09:47 PM

I thought for a minute that it was one of those words that reads the same upside down, but after precariously lifting my already broken laptop upside down, I realise it is not.

It reads qnd upside down.

However...

qnd qnd qnd qnd qnd qnd
qnd qnd qnd qnd qnd qnd
qnd qnd qnd qnd qnd qnd
qnd qnd qnd qnd qnd qnd
qnd qnd qnd qnd qnd qnd
qnd qnd qnd qnd qnd qnd

Mwahaha.

Cacoethes 25-01-2020 09:58 PM

Ahahaha!!
How do you even pronounce that?!

nonperson 25-01-2020 10:00 PM

Turn your phone/laptop upside down and it's pronounced pub!

not_so_insig 25-01-2020 10:11 PM

Turns out that the burns night isn't very popular. I cant say that I am disappointed.

nonperson 25-01-2020 10:15 PM

Dawn! I have a Welsh question for you.

So... at work we have an oak called the Pontfadog oak because it came from a really really old oak which died a few years ago near the village of Pontfadog. But my question is, how do you pronounce Pontfadog?

Is it like... Pont-FAH-dug or Pontfa-DOG? If that makes any sense.

Eska 25-01-2020 10:51 PM

It's Pont-FA-dog!

nonperson 25-01-2020 10:58 PM

Cheers Eska! That's how I've been pronouncing it anyway but i can say it with enough confidence.

zombiehunter 25-01-2020 11:05 PM

*slumps on top of zombie*

not_so_insig 26-01-2020 01:05 AM

Eska is right btw.

*slumps on top of zombie and np*

It’s a shame you’re not a fan of Burns night Dawn although I am also thankful no one seems inclined to set off any fireworks. Burns was an amazing poet and in glad an important literary figure is so highly regarded as to have a day that people are aware of for them.

It also matters to my Scottish support worker so tomorrow I have a one day late Burns night (well day) planned with classic Scottish food and stuff planned to surprise her. Unfortunately though my Asda order didn’t have the haggis I ordered in it and was impossible to try n get today so it’ll be Scottish Food, homemade Cajun meatballs I made Friday and neeps and tattles :p. Epic dessert planned though and it’s the thought that counts I hope!

chinahorse 26-01-2020 10:07 AM

THats such a thoughtful thing for you to do buttons!

Morning all. Furry alarm clock strikes again. Though he did let me have until half 8 this morning. A whole extra 30 minutes.

one_step_closer 26-01-2020 11:22 AM

Morning everyone.

So lovely of you Buttons <3

I really wish you had some doors Lillie! Although one of mine was moaning at me outside my door this morning.

Cacoethes 26-01-2020 11:49 AM

That sounds amazing Buttons

Morning guys

Cats can be lovely but also very annoying it seems!

tamobhuuta 26-01-2020 11:49 AM

Good morning everyone. Hope you slept well? I did, except waking up needing the loo once.

Cacoethes 26-01-2020 12:12 PM

I was the same tamo
Woke up once for the loo at about 2am

Soft Kitty 26-01-2020 12:17 PM

Slept very well. Think I might have been woken up by the cat at about 5am as I found myself asleep on the sofa at 9. Went to visit our new allotment, I've got no clue what I'm doing.

What is everyone up to today?

Cacoethes 26-01-2020 12:23 PM

An allotment sounds cool!

I'm not doing much. Was going to go swimming but I have a delivery coming and tbh the pool will probably be noisy and full of kids, even though they do have separate lanes for serious swimming

tamobhuuta 26-01-2020 12:30 PM

My godmother's husband has an allotment and occasionally she brings us vegetables :)

Soft Kitty 26-01-2020 12:44 PM

Swimming is great, fingers crossed it's not too busy!

That's nice tamo, there's nothing like home-grown veg.

tamobhuuta 26-01-2020 12:54 PM

She brought us a squash once and Mum made a delicious pie. I ate some of the filling by itself.

Cacoethes 26-01-2020 12:58 PM

I love to swim!

Home grown veg is the best!

tamobhuuta 26-01-2020 01:09 PM

I don't know why people like swimming, it makes you feel all wet! Even a shower is bad enough.

Cacoethes 26-01-2020 01:14 PM

It's a great exercise!
I have pain issues so the gym is really painful for me and swimming is good because no pain! And I can just switch off for an hour and not really concentrate

tamobhuuta 26-01-2020 01:33 PM

Whatever works for you!

not_so_insig 26-01-2020 01:39 PM

I have pain issues too but I find exercise helps. Because of the fact that I can do more exercise swimming than walking or going to the gym it's really helpful. Plus because I have to pay full price swimming is cheaper than the gym. The only issue is during that time of the month and when the kids are off because that means that I cant go.

Cacoethes 26-01-2020 01:42 PM

Yep each to their own!

I don't really mind when the kids are off because there are designated lanes most of the day and the kids don't tend to go in those unless they actually want to swim lengths which is fine.
And I don't have that time of the month and haven't in about 6 years so that's not an issue!

one_step_closer 26-01-2020 02:04 PM

An allotment sounds good, bring us some veg once you're all sorted Soft Kitty!

Stop bragging about your lack of woman issues Beckie! :tongue2:

I can't swim so it's not for me. I don't think I'll be able to learn now.

Cacoethes 26-01-2020 02:06 PM

Haha! It is quite glorious :p

That's fair enough lindsay!
What are you up to today?

one_step_closer 26-01-2020 02:15 PM

I can imagine!

I have done quite a bit - been to Tesco, hoovered, changed bedding, put a washing on, had a shower. Now I don't really have anything to do. I hope I can find something to occupy myself with.

What are you getting up to while waiting for your delivery?

Cacoethes 26-01-2020 02:17 PM

Wow well done!

My delivery has arrived so I'm just chilling now with a cup soup

chinahorse 26-01-2020 02:22 PM

I also may not have had so called womens issues for at least 7 years now.

I'm noming pringles.

Cacoethes 26-01-2020 02:25 PM

Yay us!
Women's issues suck

Mmmm pringles

one_step_closer 26-01-2020 02:31 PM

SHUNS you both!

What kind of cup a soup and what kind of Pringles?

chinahorse 26-01-2020 02:32 PM

Get stabbed in the butt every 3 months and you too could be issue free. Simples.

BBQ

one_step_closer 26-01-2020 02:33 PM

I don't really have a need for contraception so I'll just suffer every month!

BBQ is tasty. Enjoy. :)

chinahorse 26-01-2020 02:34 PM

I'd say the need to not suffer is need enough. That's why I have it.

Cacoethes 26-01-2020 02:48 PM

I don't have a need either but still have it because I hate women's issues. And it saves money!

I had a vegetable cup soup!
It was rather nice

one_step_closer 26-01-2020 03:50 PM

Are GPs/whoever ok about it if you don't need it as contraception?

I'm not sure if I've ever had vegetable cup a soup.

How is everyones day going?

Soft Kitty 26-01-2020 03:57 PM

I have an IUD which is great (though a difficult process in the first instance). Bum injections made my women's issues much worse unfortunately. I'm sure a GP would be very understanding if there are other reasons you might want contraceptive meds. People have them for lots of different reasons.

Vegetable soup is quite yummy.

My day is okay. Went to Homebase as my OH insisted on perusing the trowels. Got hot cross buns from Morrisons though.

Indigo. 26-01-2020 03:59 PM

Hey all!

Yeah, many people take birth control to manage periods & other reproductive system issues. I also have the depo shot and that's my main reason for getting it.

I got up to eat and I'm now I'm back in bed.

Cacoethes 26-01-2020 04:09 PM

I did need the depo at the time and just never stopped it!
I've been warned about increased risk of something or other but I'm not bothered.

I enjoyed it!
It was a heinz one.

one_step_closer 26-01-2020 04:13 PM

A day out browsing trowels sounds interesting...

Cacoethes 26-01-2020 05:07 PM

How many different types of trowel can there be?

chinahorse 26-01-2020 05:36 PM

Reckon np will be the best person to answer that one.

Cacoethes 26-01-2020 05:55 PM

Ah yes
Np come back!

one_step_closer 26-01-2020 06:11 PM

I mostly associate trowels with builders.

Cacoethes 26-01-2020 06:41 PM

One of my brothers has a 'shot trowel'. It has a bell on it like a bicycle bell.
It's basically a large trowel with holes for shot glasses. We used it when I went over on xmas eve

one_step_closer 26-01-2020 06:54 PM

That sounds completely weird, who thought that up?!
