Is it possible that your sister could help?

Sketchy 30-05-2017 04:27 PM

No, she's made plans today. I will get it done, I just need a burst of energy.

I'm going to the shop now and then I'll go home and tidy. I'll put music on whilst I tidy, that should help.

Catch you guys later.

Wonderland. 30-05-2017 04:31 PM

Thats brill Dawn, will hopefully make you feel a bit better about the situation :-)

Lorraine just think whilst they are there they will be focusing on the job they have to do, and then they'll be off. I know it's never nice having workmen in your home but just think an hour or so of them fixing things and you'll benefit from a working smoke alarm and safe electrics.

Also it doesn't necessarily need to be tidy, if they just need the space where your art stuff is, could you carefully pick that stuff up and place it in a different room and then tidy it on a day where you are feeling brighter? As you are going to have to move it back anyway!

Cacoethes 30-05-2017 04:51 PM

Hey guys.
Sorry I don't have the brainpower to read everything but hope you're all ok!

Wonderland. 30-05-2017 05:05 PM

Be gentle with yourself Beckie, and reach out for support if you need to <3

Cacoethes 30-05-2017 05:13 PM

I will <3

What's everyone up to?

Wonderland. 30-05-2017 06:22 PM

I will hold you to that :tongue2:

I've been out to b&m to get some munchies. There was some 60 ish year old women in there holding up the check out because she wanted some £4 refund on something, but had none of her cards signed so they couldn't take that as ID and she got so mad about it, demanding to see the manager. Poor young lad serving her. Like hell I'd of given her the bloody £4 if I'd of had it on me just to shut her up. Signing the back of your cards is basic knowledge surely a women of that age should know!

not_so_insig 30-05-2017 06:25 PM

I don't sign my card because I thought it wouldn't be necessary in days of chip and pin. I did it before they had chip and pin though.

Cacoethes 30-05-2017 06:25 PM

Haha! :p

That sounds frustrating! Old people are the worst for things like this!

Wonderland. 30-05-2017 06:57 PM

This is why Dawn.

Quote:

The signature line, coupled with a signature on the receipt, allows a retailer to check the signatures, thereby fulfilling clause F of the card issuer's responsibilities when asserting the cardholder is liable for an unauthorized purchase. Whether the user or the retailer actually utilize this feature is irrelevant; the card issuer has made the provision and thereby fulfilled clause F.
If people end up with your card details and you haven't signed it they can take money more easily as they can just make up a signature. If you've got one on your card already then you don't have to start proving whose is whose. I'm probably not explaining that very well as I'm tired but they aren't going to copy a signature rather make up one where there isn't one.

tiptoes 30-05-2017 07:06 PM

That basically also at any point you can be randomly asked to provide a signature in addition to pin to prove it is you making the transaction. Also if the chip and pin machines are malfunctioning you will still be able to purchase stuff by signing for it.

Wonderland. 30-05-2017 07:11 PM

Most cards say on the back of them not valid unless signed.
So a cashier can actually refuse to serve you if you haven't signed it and haven't got other ID on you.

Sketchy 30-05-2017 07:42 PM

I'm back. I did some tidying and it has actually made it easier to work at my easel. I even did a bit of painting and plan to do more tomorrow. I'll get up early tomorrow and do a bit more tidying before the electrician arrives. Now I'm trying to relax.

Wonderland. 30-05-2017 07:49 PM

Awesome job Lorraine :-)
Glad you can chill a bit before bed!

Sketchy 30-05-2017 07:51 PM

Thanks Amy.

Cacoethes 30-05-2017 07:52 PM

That's great you got all that done Lorraine :)

I had a good loss at slimming world and pizza is in the oven!

Sketchy 30-05-2017 07:53 PM

Well done Beckie. Enjoy your pizza.

Cacoethes 30-05-2017 07:57 PM

Thanks :)

Wonderland. 30-05-2017 08:01 PM

Fabulous Bex, and well done on going when you haven't been feeling so great, enjoy your pizza!

Cacoethes 30-05-2017 08:10 PM

Thanks Amy :)

Watching holby now! Anyone watching anything good?

not_so_insig 30-05-2017 08:23 PM

I am watching Britain's got talent Beckie.

Cacoethes 30-05-2017 08:27 PM

I've never been able to get into that.
I've seen a few clips

Sketchy 30-05-2017 09:18 PM

I'm deciding what to watch on Netflix. It's nice to relax after tidying. I'm dreading the electricians coming over, but at least it forced me to tidy.
I'm definitely going to paint tomorrow now I've cleared my space.

Cacoethes 30-05-2017 09:25 PM

I always find I am more relaxed when the house is tidy.
Hopefully the electricians won't take long.

Sketchy 30-05-2017 09:27 PM

I hope not. I'm going out for lunch with my sister afterwards, so I have something nice to look forward to.

Cacoethes 30-05-2017 09:32 PM

That's good.
Always nice to have something to look forward to!

chinahorse 30-05-2017 10:14 PM

Hey guys :)

Cacoethes 30-05-2017 10:22 PM

Hey Lillie!
Just about to go to bed but didn't want to ignore your post!!
Hope you're ok :)

Wonderland. 30-05-2017 10:23 PM

Hey Lillie, hope you are okay!

Hope you sleep well Beckie!

Sketchy 31-05-2017 10:14 AM

Good morning everyone.

I have electricians in. They are drilling into walls, taking over my flat and it's stressing me out. I can't wait for them to finish.

Sketchy 31-05-2017 12:33 PM

And they are gone. :)

I'm now getting ready to go for lunch with my sister. I hope everyone is having a good day.

Cacoethes 31-05-2017 12:53 PM

Hey guys.
Just got up.

Well done for dealing with the electricians Lorraine.
Hope you have a good lunch!

not_so_insig 31-05-2017 03:15 PM

Yes well done Lorraine. I know how stressful it is to have strangers in your flat.

Cacoethes 31-05-2017 03:18 PM

I've ordered my washer dryer and it's coming tomorrow! :-D
Although it will be between 7am and 7pm which is annoying!
Waiting for a carer to come and do some paperwork and stuff so I will have carers coming in to help me with my meds which is a bit :ermm: but probably a good thing.

Sketchy 31-05-2017 04:03 PM

Thanks guys. I'm home from lunch with sister. It was so sunny we sat in a beer garden. I had a veggie burger. I'm now home and falling asleep on my bed after my early start this morning. My glass of wine with lunch is probably making me sleepier.

That's great about the washer Beckie. You'll be glad to have one again. Try not worry about the carer. Hopefully they won't be too long and will be helpful.

Cacoethes 31-05-2017 05:42 PM

That sounds lovely Lorraine!
Will be good to have a rest now.

The carer was really nice.
I'm going to have someone come at 10am and 7pm every day.
Should be ok. And she said they try to make sure it's the same people every time. Like one for the morning and one for the evening.
Might actually be nice to have a little chat with someone every day. I can sometines go for days without an actual conversation with someone.

Sketchy 31-05-2017 07:06 PM

So I officially have the best sister! I was just about to nap when my sister text me to say she has a package that arrived at the post office. It was a present for me. Sparkly black converse shoes. They are gorgeous! We went back out to collect it then she naughtily took me to the pub for another drink.

Cacoethes 31-05-2017 07:11 PM

Oh wow what a lovely surprise!

Sketchy 31-05-2017 07:16 PM

I know. I'm lucky to have her. I'm going to get her a present, but not sure what. Maybe a bag of her favourite goodies, bath bombs, chocolates etc. I am in the middle of doing a painting for her and I am going to do a large charcoal drawing that she wanted.

Cacoethes 31-05-2017 07:20 PM

Sounds good :)

It's my sister's birthday at the end of June. I don't know what to get her! She's going to be 13.
Something horse related probably

Sketchy 31-05-2017 07:22 PM

That's a difficult age because she will want to be grown up, but is really still a kid. A horsey gift sounds good. Does all you family like horses? I know you've spoken about horses a few times.

Cacoethes 31-05-2017 07:25 PM

Exactly!

Yes my family are very into the horsey scene. They do competitions quite a lot. They have 5 horses atm. My horse has retired though!
Jasmine actually did her first tiny jump In her last lesson!
She's a good rider!

Sketchy 31-05-2017 07:28 PM

That's really good Jasmine is carrying on the tradition. It must be nice to take care of a horse. Beautiful animals.

Cacoethes 31-05-2017 07:32 PM

They are beautiful animals! I love them.
Jasmine loves riding. She's been riding for nearly 3 years now so she's getting good!
It is nice to have them but my god they are hard work! Lol!

Sketchy 31-05-2017 07:33 PM

I imagine they are hard work, but very rewarding too. One of my local parks has horses and I love seeing them.

Cacoethes 31-05-2017 07:36 PM

They are definitely worth all the work!
Love my horseys!
I really want to start riding lessons again but need to lose a little bit more weight first.

Sketchy 31-05-2017 07:39 PM

Riding lessons is something to look forward to. I'll need to go back to the park that has the horses and take photos. I'll post them when I do.

not_so_insig 31-05-2017 07:41 PM

Ooo I have a idea Beckie. I will pm you.

Cacoethes 31-05-2017 07:43 PM

I'd love to see those photos Lorraine!

Ok dawn!

Sketchy 31-05-2017 07:45 PM

I'll take photos next time I'm there. One horse looks like an elderly chap and I'm convinced he's always smiling.
