Hot chocolate helped me wake up. * Shares hot chocolate for all*

I made it outside to my garden. My lungs are not sure they like outside but will see how it goes. I am not however attempting any gardening just sitting here!

Lol at vet requesting k does not taste anymore chinchilla medication! I imagined the vet trying to be incredibly polite to them about it but being all WTF on the inside XD

Cacoethes 07-05-2023 11:55 AM

My old riding instructor once took horse sedatives to calm her down before a big competition. Which was incredibly stupid, but apparently that was disgusting also XD
I reckon still not as bad as vitamin K. Nothing you can eat or drink afterwards can get rid of the taste. The liquid is the same liquid they put in IVs. Eeeeuuugggghh

It is very humid today!
I was sweating on the walk to and from the vet!
Definitely did not need a hoodie!

Pi.R^2 07-05-2023 11:57 AM

Eurgh, I would be so bad at taking a yucky medication. I watched someone drink the activated charcoal one time and that did NOT look pleasant.

Cacoethes 07-05-2023 12:02 PM

I literally had no choice XD

I've never had that but it doesn't sound great!

I need to spot clean the piggos but i think I'll give them some more time. They've had a stressful morning!

long road 07-05-2023 12:31 PM

I am not enjoying this humidity AT ALL.

My inhalers taste kind of weird. I seem to remember amoxicillin as a kid would attempt to taste of something like banana but not really achieve it.

Cacoethes 07-05-2023 12:51 PM

Me neither!
Those tiny little black bug things are out. Kept having to brush them off on the walk back! And a greenfly. It has begun.

Yeah i remember the banana tasting one.
Calpol though, that was top tier!
I imagine it doesn't taste the same since they took the sugar out of it.

long road 07-05-2023 01:03 PM

Insects on one hand really useful for the ecosystem on the other hand really ****ing annoying.

Calpol was the good stuff. Sugar free is never as good.

Cacoethes 07-05-2023 01:13 PM

I agree!

I blame jamie oliver.

The boys are still sulking. They haven't left their hides pretty much since we got back!
I'm going to have to kick them out soon to do a spot clean, i need to put their smaller fleeces in the wash!

tamobhuuta 07-05-2023 01:18 PM

I made myself a mocha :)

Cacoethes 07-05-2023 01:21 PM

Ooh nice! Love a mocha!

Pi.R^2 07-05-2023 01:23 PM

I had a blue slush at the theatre the other day and got to the bottom of why they taste weird- they're sugar free now o_O

one_step_closer 07-05-2023 01:25 PM

Hi everyone.

I still use Calpol for pain relief because I can't take paracetamol tablets or capsules. Don't use it much though. It says it can be used for adults so I'm not pretending to be a child!

Everything is sugar free now. Except for sugar.

Cacoethes 07-05-2023 01:38 PM

Blue slush is something that should absolutely NOT be sugar free.
I don't know why we aren't even given the choice. But i shall refrain on going on a potentially paranoid sounding rant about 1984 :tongue2:

Does it still work lindsay?

one_step_closer 07-05-2023 01:41 PM

I get the six plus and it tells you the adult dosage and it does work. Way more expensive than tablets though!

Cacoethes 07-05-2023 01:45 PM

Oh cool!
Yeah i bet! Paracetamol tablets can be incredibly cheap! Idk how much calpol is these days but it's always been quite pricey!

one_step_closer 07-05-2023 01:53 PM

How are the fluffies? Have you done a spot clean yet? Do you have a guinea pig fact for us today?

Ahimsa 07-05-2023 02:41 PM

My hair is too big for this level of humidity

Cacoethes 07-05-2023 02:44 PM

I have done the spot clean!
Picked a fresh plate of grass for them (as they won't touch any of the grass my neighbour pre picked for them and put in the fridge...) so they are currently eating like they've never eaten in their lives XD

They need their nails cutting about every 6-8 weeks!
And because when they get unwell, they go downhill and lose weight fast, so it's better they have some extra weight on! In general, there's no such thing as an overweight piggy! So I'm glad mine are chonkers. They're actually pretty good at self regulating, food wise.

Lol beth!

Lol beth!

Awwww what good floofs!

Beckie, picture incoming of the MANE.

Cacoethes 07-05-2023 02:55 PM

They are the bestest floofs!
I'm biased though :tongue2:

Can confirm, Beth's hair is MASSIVE!
But also epic in many ways!

tamobhuuta 07-05-2023 03:04 PM

NO ONE'S hair is bigger than mine. Except maybe an afro.

Cacoethes 07-05-2023 03:13 PM

It could be a close call tbh!

Ahimsa 07-05-2023 03:18 PM

Aha Tamo, I have competition!

How is everyone doing?

I've done the food shop and the batch cooking, and I've split the kitchen into 4 quarters in my head - 1/4 is done! ;)

Cacoethes 07-05-2023 03:23 PM

I'm ok. The boys have retreated back into their hides!
Just need to put my washing away now.
I swept up the kitchen and living room after hay change and spot clean, because the hay gets EVERYWHERE!

Well done!
Splitting things up can be so helpful sometimes!

one_step_closer 07-05-2023 04:44 PM

I'd love to see Beth and Tamo's massive hair! My hair is always straight. It behaves itself except for some sticky up stray hairs.

I'm glad you have nice healthy chunks, Beckie. And by the way you look after them they will hopefully stay healthy.

Well done with doing things, Beth. Do you have a big kitchen?

Well done to you too, Beckie. Maybe you should just leave the hay and pretend you're living in a stable!

Cacoethes 07-05-2023 04:59 PM

Mine is always straight too.

Hope so!
I'm planning to try and take Merry to an exotics vet because of his odd breathing, even though my vet said things sound clear and just keep an eye!

Thank you!
Most of the time i do leave it tbh XD
But after a clean, it's just waaay too much to ignore! And gets stuck to my socks, spreading it all over the house!
I've found hay in my bed before, under the covers.

one_step_closer 07-05-2023 05:15 PM

Haha! Maybe the fluffies are getting up at night and putting hay in your bed. That's a more exciting explanation to it just getting stuck to your socks and transferring into your bed.

Cacoethes 07-05-2023 05:18 PM

Well, i gave them a plate of grass earlier. Just one of my normal small plates. I also ate something on a plate. Put it in the kitchen while i went upstairs and did some things. Came down and saw it in the kitchen, was absolutely convinced for a couple of minutes that they had put their plate in the kitchen. On the counter...
Brains are weird XD

one_step_closer 07-05-2023 05:21 PM

That's so funny! It's easy for brains to jumble things up like that.

Cacoethes 07-05-2023 05:25 PM

It really is! XD

Guys, it is 20° here! And bright sunshine!
And I've spent most of the day indoors XD

one_step_closer 07-05-2023 05:27 PM

Would you have preferred to get out? Have you got anywhere to sit outside?

Cacoethes 07-05-2023 05:35 PM

I don't like going for walks without purpose! I have to be going somewhere. Unfortunately, it is sunday and everything closed at 4 :plain:
I did go to the vets though which is an ok walk. So at least I have been outside for a bit today!

nonperson 07-05-2023 05:51 PM

The sunshine came through my window and woke me up by beaming warmly on my face =(

long road 07-05-2023 05:55 PM

I just had a nap feeling very blargh still though. I went outside earlier before the sun came out when it was just humid and grey.

I continue to be grumpy about being ill

nonperson 07-05-2023 06:04 PM

Beckieeee, Mrs Doubtfire is on TV!

tamobhuuta 07-05-2023 06:13 PM

It was lovely coming out of church to sunshine.

Cacoethes 07-05-2023 06:14 PM

Ah that's annoying np!

Sorry you're still feeling ill Jen!
I think it's a very reasonable thing to feel grumpy about tbh

Hellooooo!
I am watching doctor who though. Which i have seen a million times of course, but I'm in a doctor who kinda mood!

long road 07-05-2023 06:18 PM

It's just so irritating, I can tell where my lungs are and they are achy. Thank you for listening to my moan and validating my experience :)

Glad you got to go to church in the sunshine Tamo that sounds lovely.

Hi NP!

Cacoethes 07-05-2023 06:31 PM

That sounds horrible :(
No problem!

Ah tamo, you ninja posted!
How was church?

I cooked a paella from frozen (on hob) and it was definitely boiling hot right through, but a couple of prawns were still cold. Not frozen, but cold. I ate one by accident. Now I'm worried that the whole thing wasn't cooked properly and there was chicken and chorizo in it.
So i may die. Lol.

one_step_closer 07-05-2023 06:35 PM

I haven't been out at all.

Did it wake you up really early, NP? Sometimes the moon shines on me when I'm in my bed but not direct sun.

Sorry you're still struggling, Jen. You are definitely allowed to moan. Moaning could be healing.

Was it dull inside the church, Tamo?

I hope you're enjoying Doctor Who, Beckie.

long road 07-05-2023 06:36 PM

Oh no! I think you will be ok though. If the chicken was hot in the middle then the chicken was ok. And the prawns were likely precooked. Did you follow on the pack instructions?

one_step_closer 07-05-2023 06:36 PM

I don't think you'll die Beckie but not fun to find cold bits in your food.

long road 07-05-2023 06:37 PM

Ninja OSC. If moaning was healing I think I'd be better by now XD

one_step_closer 07-05-2023 06:38 PM

I read somewhere that people who sigh frequently are more healthy or live longer or something.

Cacoethes 07-05-2023 06:39 PM

I'm super paranoid about chicken so i made sure every piece of that was hot!
Yep, followed the instructions to the letter!
Cooking is one of the very few times i actually follow instructions ;p

It's just a bit concerning!
Though if I'm gonna get ill, i have nothing to do tomorrow at least!

one_step_closer 07-05-2023 06:40 PM

Well that's positive, Beckie! Try not to worry too much.

No, like an hour ago on the sofa!

There might be something in that Lindsay.
My neuropsychologist said sighs were a sign you were regulating your nervous system. But sighing and Moaning are a little different XD

How are you doing this evening? I am currently a couch potato waiting for either me or my partner to get the energy to cook dinner. It's an easy one tonight, rehearing Bolognese and cooking pasta.

Ahhh no NP ain't nobody got time for an interrupted nap!

Ahimsa 07-05-2023 06:48 PM

Naps are the best, I've just woken up from one!
