The other issue was that they didn't do a specific vegan option so it was very limited - that probably wouldn't be an issue now since there are other companies who do offer vegan menus.

That makes sense. I think I’d manage to prep it all and stuff in time especially since V would be eating it too. I think I might go for the smallest box and see how I get on :)

I’m off for the evening, got my dishes and stuff to do and then I’m gonna watch a movie I think. Night everyone!

I like the idea of Hello Fresh but I know the same thing would happen to me too, Elmer. I had a three month Indian food subscription (was a gift card thingy) over a year ago and two of those months worth of spices are still in the cupboard and probably out of date by now.

nonperson 01-05-2023 07:48 PM

I went hypo in Paris and my school teacher tried to kill me by fixing it with insulin. Fun times.

Cacoethes 01-05-2023 07:51 PM

Night Ali!

I think hello fresh would end up being too expensive for me. It's a good idea though!

Wow...

Zurg 01-05-2023 07:53 PM

…. Seems like you generally risk a lot by going to France… :/

Cacoethes 01-05-2023 07:55 PM

Yes, probably best avoided!
Spain is better.

And hello zurg!

Cacoethes 01-05-2023 08:00 PM

I guess it depends on the person
Wouldn't be for me!

nonperson 01-05-2023 08:02 PM

Hi Zuuuuurg.

long road 01-05-2023 08:29 PM

I've never been to France. Been to a lot of other European countries but not France. I did have an asthma attack on a school trip to Wales though and a MH breakdown on one to Norfolk. Maybe school trips are the problem not the location?

Hello Fresh wouldn't work well for me mainly because my partner can be fussy about some foods and I can't eat any paprika, chilli or peppers and CBA reading all the recipes to work out safe ones.

Cacoethes 01-05-2023 08:33 PM

I went on a ski trip to Austria in year 7.
Was gonna go on the next one but i was declared too mentally unstable. Sad times. Also the reason i couldn't go to pony club camp.
Other ones i just went full emo and kept my earphones in the entire time. They let me in case i went mental.

Ah yeah. That's tricky!

nonperson 01-05-2023 08:36 PM

Oh I totally blame school trips being the problem. I haven't been back to France since then as an adult because of the trauma! I've not been to any other European countries though, USA plenty of times though. Travel scares me =/

nonperson 01-05-2023 08:36 PM

Pony club camp? XD

long road 01-05-2023 08:40 PM

That is sad times. I think my geography teachers regretted me coming on the trip after the drama XD

Cacoethes 01-05-2023 08:42 PM

I love to travel.
Going to Amsterdam in October with the bestie for both our birthdays and poets of the fall concert. What good timing!

Yep, pony club camp XD

Teachers are probably used to all sorts of drama!

nonperson 01-05-2023 08:45 PM

Are Poets of the Fall always playing in Amsterdam?

My friend suggested that me and her take a trip there some time.

Cacoethes 01-05-2023 08:47 PM

Nah, they tour Europe.
They are playing in London but Amsterdam is more fun than London!

You should! I don't often want to visit the same place twice but i have made an exception for Amsterdam!

nonperson 01-05-2023 08:49 PM

Just wondered because you always seem to see them abroad.

Yeah, it probably won't ever happen =) Plus I'd be nerdy and want to go at the crack of dawn for the flower markets.

Cacoethes 01-05-2023 08:52 PM

I think I've only seen them abroad once!
Seen them twice in London.
The one in Amsterdam was actually an accident because i booked it then it came up on my newsfeed that they were playing the day after i got there!

That's a shame!
A friend is in Holland now and went to see the tulip fields (she's a florist) and it looked amazing!

nonperson 01-05-2023 08:58 PM

Oh my mistake. I just know you've seen them a lot =P

Ahhh don't. The tulip fields would probably make me explode.

nonperson 01-05-2023 08:58 PM

I'm still gutted and beating myself up for missing Shinedown btw =(

Cacoethes 01-05-2023 09:05 PM

Yeah i have!

Lol! They do look amazing!

Same. I had no money for the train :'(

That sounds like song lyrics!!

I dislike travel VERY much. I last went on an actual holiday 15 years ago. I've been to stay with friends in the UK a few times but also, not good! One lives in a not safe area, and the other is no longer a friend because of what he did on one of those trips (details are for MUCH more serious thread, there is one somewhere)

Cacoethes 01-05-2023 09:11 PM

It kinda does XD

Ahimsa 01-05-2023 09:19 PM

I tried a Hello Fresh trial once, and felt exactly the same. The smallest box was too much for my 1 person household and it went to waste.

They rang me up like "I guarantee it will save you money. What does your normal weekly shop come to? Like, £60? This is X less"

I was like "Between £10-£15 normally, £20 if its cat food buying time" He was like "Errrmmm, yeah this is £34 for the smallest box"

Cacoethes 01-05-2023 09:20 PM

Yeah same tbh!
And most of my shopping is veg for the piggos

long road 01-05-2023 09:21 PM

Pain levels have ramped up. Which is very unfun.

Sad UK travel has been ruined for you Beth. It is much less faff than trying to fly.

I travelled more in the 5 years between 14 and 19 than the next 11 years! It's not practical for me to travel abroad with my mobility issues and general falling apartness right now but maybe in the next year or two.

Ahh see I have a MAJOR fear of flying. So I just don't go away at all now, much safer and calmer here with my cats.

long road 01-05-2023 09:25 PM

Yay Cats! How have they been lately? Up to any mischief?

Ahimsa 01-05-2023 09:26 PM

Always!! There is a very cute video of the baby making biscuits on their instagram from a few days ago :) and my boy is currently asleep in the pie crust bed.

Cacoethes 01-05-2023 09:26 PM

Sorry to hear about your pain jen!
Hope is eases up!

I don't like flying, but I'll do it. Worth it in the end!

nonperson 01-05-2023 09:30 PM

I like take off, but then don't like being squashed into a limited space with people I don't know.

Cacoethes 01-05-2023 09:31 PM

Yeah that always sucks!
And i like to be on an aisle seat
On the eurostar back from Amsterdam, i was sat in a group of 4, where the other 3 people were travelling together. Very awkward

long road 01-05-2023 09:35 PM

I don't mind the flying part, it's the stress of getting through the airport I am not a big fan of. My brother takes the train from Austria (where he lives) all the way to the UK. He gets a sleeper train from Vienna to Brussels, then the eurostar across to London. Takes many mor ehours than flying though.

nonperson 01-05-2023 09:39 PM

Ooh that is awkward.

I got an aisle seat for my million-hour-long Vegas flight, the other two were unknown people and there was no one else I knew nearby. I'm sure they thought I was mental because I sat there blocking them in with earphones in, picking my fingers and trying not to have a meltdown for 11 hours!

nonperson 01-05-2023 09:40 PM

Airports are stressful. I have to get through security with all sorts of suspicious medical equipment and refuse to go through certain scanners and such!

Had the pleasant experience of a full body pat down when leaving LA!

Cacoethes 01-05-2023 09:41 PM

Hate going through airports. That's why i get eurostar if possible. Security is way less hassle.
That sounds like it would take forever!
I got the train to antwerp last year for Russell Howard. Eurostar to Brussels then another train to antwerp, which was included on the eurostar ticket. That wasn't too bad

I think I'd struggle on a flight that long!

I've had full body searches so many times, that wouldn't bother me lol

Ahimsa 01-05-2023 09:52 PM

Right guys, I'm going to pick up my Chinese food!

nonperson 01-05-2023 09:55 PM

I'm in no rush to do that flight again. I'd break it up if I were to do it again.

The body search didn't bother me. They asked if I wanted to go somewhere else and I was like "no, ****ing do it right here!" Obviously without swearing but I was a bit irate. I had nothing to hide but they were treating me like a drug smuggler!

But I learned my lesson - US border patrol are not people to get shitty with, lol. XD

nonperson 01-05-2023 09:56 PM

Chineeeeeese nooooooooooodles.

Cacoethes 01-05-2023 10:16 PM

Ooh chinese! Enjoy!

I'd be irritable too if I'd been on a plane for that long!
Yeah Apparently they don't **** around!

nonperson 01-05-2023 10:22 PM

They do not =P

I think the phrase "pick your battles" is what springs to mind >.>

Cacoethes 01-05-2023 10:32 PM

Oh for sure!
Psychiatrists are like that. No sense of humour.
I joked to the nurse about 'just the 4kg of cocaine' when he asked what was in my bags when i got back. He laughed, a psych wouldn't let me out again!

nonperson 01-05-2023 10:35 PM

Yeaaaah, maybe I should never see a psychiatrist >.>

On an irrelevant note, why is tomorrow Tuesdaaaaaaaaaaay >.<

Cacoethes 01-05-2023 10:39 PM

0/10 do not recommend

It feels so wrong that it's Tuesday tomorrow!
And another bank holiday next week. And another one at the end of the month! D:
Can only hope i get long leave on Thursday because a long weekend here is LONG

nonperson 01-05-2023 10:41 PM

Let's hope!

Long weekends mess me up. It's nice to have an extra day off but I can't deal with 4 day weeks. Although I'm working next weekend so that'll mess me up even more. Wah =/

Cacoethes 01-05-2023 10:47 PM

Oh nooo!
I hate change of routines like that.
Throws everything off
If i pick up a weekend shift I'll be like WHAT YEAR IS IT???
I'm very easily confused.

long road 01-05-2023 10:51 PM

I have little variance in my day to day these days, most days are similar to the others apart from random helath appointments. Plus roleplaying happening on Wednesdays and Fridays every week and having to do shopping order on Sundays. I kind of miss work it made long weekends more satisfying. Maybe one day I will be well enough to work again.
