I've just put my heating on

So have I Beckie. I had an email before from sse saying that they wanted meter readings so I submitted them and I am in credit with both gas and electricity so I thought **** it I can afford not to freeze.

I'm on a pre payment meter thing which I prefer to paying monthly

I cba going out to get credit all the time. Plus it's more expensive than paying direct debit. My paranoia won't let me have a smart meter.

Sometimes there's no choice though. My electricity is direct debit and my "gas" is on a meter.

I've been out to buy Christmas trees this evening. =)

For my friend and her sister. We get them free at work so I donated mine.

We were the only ones there and there was a fire.

Has no one been hit by storm Barra? It's high winds and thick cold snow blowing in it here. I had to walk for a while to the post office delivery office and my face kept getting hit by chunky snowflakes.

It was very wet and windy before but has calmed down a lot now. I got wet waiting for the bus before.

The wind hasn't been as bad here as everyone was making it sound. Lots of heavy rain though.

I hope the wind dies down before we have to put the bins out tomorrow night!

I hope so too Beckie as I live in a windy spot. I recently lost a paper bag so don't want to lose another. It's ordinary bin day this week so fingers crossed that they'll collect it as I really struggle with the wheelie bin.

Morning all! I am up early because I have a boiler check today. Unfortunately they gave an all day slot so idk what time they're coming. It sounds very windy outside so I am glad of an excuse not to go out.

I can officially confirm that it's wet and windy here outside. Unfortunately I have to go out at some point to do the bins so fingers crossed it's better then.

The weather is definitely calmer today!
The bins are out and so far standing steady!

I hope everyones bins stay standing. It's horrible when your bin blows over and flings out your rubbish for all to see and for you to pick up off the street. My plastics bin blew over recently but it wasn't a bin day so it was in my garden so was easier to put all the rubbish back in it.

It's absolutely awful!
Where my bins live is quite sheltered from the wind so I don't have that issue

This storm has been pretty uneventful here really. A bit windy but nothing concerning.

I'm feeling kind of smug for the first time ever that I have deviated from RYL bin day and got moved to a Monday collection when it wasn't windy!
