How annoying!
Sure enough, the delivery was attempted while I was not in :plain: I don't really know how I'm going to get it as I'm not really at home much! |
Morning everyone!
|
Good morning. How are you?
|
I'm ok thanks!
You? |
Morning Beckie and Tamo :)
I woke up, peeked outside and more snow had accumulated. Rude!!! Getting ready for braving the bus to my friends' place soon. Two very excited mini humans want to play in the snow with me. I'm freezing just by the thought ;) Are you guys doing anything today? |
Oooo more snow Zurg!
I am ok. Got to have a blood test. Also, we've got 3 cases of covid on the ward. I'm fully vaccinated but the nurse recommended I wear a mask in communal areas anyway. |
Our snow has just kind of frozen over now XD
I had body combat this morning, fell over on the ice on the way home and my knee is messed up, now I have to leave for work *skull emoji* The vaccinations don't stop you getting it, it just reduces the symptoms if you do get it. And masks only really stop others getting it from you, they don't do a lot for protecting you against it unfortunately! When i had covid in hospital i had to stay in my room. And then they opened an isolation ward so everyone with covid got put there until they were clear. Actually had a patient with lassa fever when i was last in. That was more scary than covid! I'm rambling to avoid leaving for work XD Hope you enjoy your time with the mini humans zurg! |
You've got me worried now! Go to work!

See, I don't understand this about masks. Why does a mask prevent my infectious breath from escaping but other people's infectious partials can pass through it? |
Afternoon everyone.
I hope you have fun with the little people, Kat. I don't understand the workings of masks either, NP. I always wear mine on public transport, health settings including the chemist, and most indoor places that aren't my house. I don't want to pass it on to anyone if I don't have symptoms. But people with covid shouldn't go out so what's the point of a mask? They really should design one to protect the person wearing it. That makes more sense. Edit: Like the big chunky ones the staff use on covid wards. I didn't think I'd ever get covid because I wear my mask and wash my hands and use hand sanitiser. That's obviously not enough though. I wonder if I caught it off someone. |
I think it's more for catching it if you cough or sneeze.
Did see some people removing their mask to cough/sneeze and it's like....that's the point of the mask The N95 mask is the only one that offers any sort of protection apparently. |
I bet the big horrible plastic one I use at work for sparing chemicals would work! It's got various filters and stuff so let's nothing but clean air in. Makes your face sweat like a bitch though...
|
Sounds like it would work!
|
On TV in medical documentaries some people wear things like gas masks sometimes.
|
I saw someone in the supermarket with a gas mask style one once... It looked scary and uncomfortable.
|
I saw a photo of someone wearing a plague doctor mask. That was amusing
|
As a joke or because they thought it would work?
|
I'm unsure.
Maybe both? I kinda wanted one after that |
I’d much rather wear a plague doctor mask than a silly paper mask!!!
I hated those things. They made my glasses all steamy and every time i entered a shop or bus,or whatever i was completely unable to see anything or anyone and last winter i had to do my grocery shopping without glasses because wearing them made me feel more blind than not wearing them. The mini humans were very excited :D in the end they were Way more tired though and thus crisis ensued roughly every 4 minutes. How do people manage to be parents???!!?? Is there a secret kind of narcotic they take and swear never to speak of…??. |
It's probably more effective
Yess, as a fellow glasses wearer, I feel your pain! Yeah they do that! Mini humans are weird. I'm not good with them tbh. And don't particularly like them..Apart from jasmine of course! XD |
You can contact me anytime

:You can contact me anytime
|
Morning everyone!
It is -8°C 0_o |
Morning Cacoethes. It's -3 here. How are you?
|
It's 'only' -4 now!
I'm ok thanks! You? |
I'm ok. Feeling anxious but my dad is visiting so I'm hoping that will help. Do you have any plans?
|
That's good :) hope you have a nice visit!
I have bodycombat at 12:45, then need to clean out the boys, go to asda and taekwondo this evening |
Hi Tamo and Beckie.
It's cold here too. There's still snow on the sidewalks and bicycle paths so i'm hopping on a bus to my psych appointment. Cold is okay. Rain is okay. Snow is NOT okay when riding a bike. It makes it impossible to steer. At least for me ;) I am so, so tired. I Got up this morning and fed the zoo and then took a nap after my morning coffee and breakfast. Spending almost 12 hours with kids yesterday and i feel like i've run a marathon. And climbed a mountain. Got home to a very frustrated and hungry bunny that had started to tear my livingroom apart in protest of the very terrible room service XD |
Still snow here too. Though it's actually more ice now!
Kids can be super exhausting! Naughty bun! Pippin has started jumping up on the chew tube when i pick up the bowls to give them food! And then getting under exactly where I want to put the bowls lol |
Naughty animals!
It was lovely to see my dad but I am still feeling anxious. |
Could you listen to music or watch a film? That usually helps when I'm anxious
|
I think I'll put a film on while I have lunch.
I might have covid :( I did a test this morning which came back negative but the ward manager had a look at it just now and thought she saw a shadow, so I've retaken the test and am waiting for the result. |
Good idea.
Oh no! Hope you don't have it! |
Hi everyone.
I hope you don't have covid, Tamo. Hope you're all having as good a day as possible |
Well, I haven't slipped over yet today so I'm doing ok XD
You got much on today? |
Well done! Keep it up, and by that I mean keep your whole body up off the ground except your feet!
I've done a washing and might tidy up my brother's bedroom for him coming over for Christmas whenever that is (I can't have a generic guest room because his stuff are all in there). I got up late which is annoying. I was going to go to Aldi but felt like it was too late in my schedule. I have a lot to do tomorrow and I'd like to get up earlier. |
I'll do my best!
It's hard to get out of bed in this weather! I don't know whether to go to asda or not. I do need to go really. But my amazon delivery is coming between 4:30 and 7:30 and i still need to clean out the boys! Better get on with it i guess! |
Sending motivation for all your jobs x
|
Thank you!
I have cleaned out the boys but no time to go to asda. Could go after taekwondo but probably won't! Tomorrow morning it is! |
Don't be doing too much in one day. Sometimes it's impossible to squeeze it all in and that's ok. I try to spread things out over the week/weekend. What are you learning at taekwondo at the moment?
|
It wouldn't have been impossible if I had got on with things sooner!
Been so lazy lately! Dan-gun is the next main pattern. But learning lots of other things too! Finding dan-gun really hard though. It's something like 21 moves, mostly new or just recently learned moves |
I would never put the word lazy next to you! You got most stuff done anyway. You're allowed to rest and have to catch up with things on another day. So you have to do 21 moves one after the other with no stopping?
|
Crookshanks has been snuggled up on his bed upstairs ignoring me for most of the day but he's making his presence known now because it's his food time!
|
Thanks!
I'm not good at resting lol Yep, one after the other. In a pattern. So like step to the left, backwards step turn.....would be easy if it was just one after the other but you have to remember which direction you're going in and also HOW you're turning to the other direction! Because there are several ways to do that! Haha! They always know! |
Sounds complicated. I always have to think when we're doing things that require patterns of movements at the gym. Even changing legs when doing step ups makes me stop and get confused.
|
It's okay, Lindsay. I've completely given up on trying to follow anyone who is trying to show me how to move. If i get dragged along to such things, i purposefully embarres myself and everyone else by refusing to do the right moves!!! Take that, you fitness fascists!!!
|
Haha! Refusing to do the right moves actually sounds fun as long as you've got the right mindset and don't care what other people think. I prefer the gym over the dance-type classes because I can't keep up with the moves.
How is your day going, Kat? |
Hello all. It's been warm here today as it's been 1 degrees. Certainly felt the difference walking to the post box. Dont forget that tomorrow is the last date for posting 1st class post. I have a Christmas card for my ex next door neighbour but it's less than a 5 minute walk to where she lives now so I will shove it through her letterbox in person rather than bother with a stamp.
|
There's a dude who sometimes comes to glow beatz who just completely does his own thing! And I certainly respect him for it!
I think it just takes practice tbh I had ZERO coordination before! My arms and legs would not do things together! I could either do arm moves or leg moves, not both! Taekwondo was good! Worth going out in the cold! |
Did you get your amazon delivery ok Beckie? I am sitting here waiting for the horsey action to start on the telly.
