You should march up and down swinging your arms, NP.
|
I also had a powerbank with really short leads in hospital!
Would never let anything be charged in the cupboard/office anymore! I am back! Had a nice coffee at a garden centre |
Oooh garden centre.
I am intermittently pacing up and down, Lindsay. What I need is a rifle to put over my shoulder. |
You might be tempted to use it though, NP!
Yay for nice coffee. What is THE BEST coffee? |
The best coffee is no coffee ;-)
I wouldn't have live bullets, just blanks! So there'd be no risk of hurting anyone unless it was a bayonet. |
Sounds like a boring af day np!
A bayonet would certainly make things more fun I had a caramel latte, my go to coffee! |
A very boring day... but it's also super tiring. 2 hours left!
|

Gah to boredom though. The best coffee is 100% arabica, my favourite beans I get at home are either Ethiopian or Columbian. But I can't make a latte at home so a latte made with any kind of a 100% arabica beans at a coffee shop would be awesome. However just now I had a ham and cheese sandwich and a delicious cup of biscuit tea. The tea was one of those teas that hit just right. P.s. I know where you can get a nerf rifle that only fires foam darts. |
I am too easy to earworm =(
I would love to be firing little nerf darts at people from this gatehouse thing I'm sitting in >=) |
Wow. I just saw a youngish kid with a full on mullet haircut.
|
Nerf darts are so fun! From a gatehouse would be sooo cool. Like a nerf sniper!!
Tempted to ear worm you further but resisting... for now... He he he mullet!!! |
I really like the idea of being a nerf sniper.
How long can you resist? =P The mullet was terrible. Not a style for a kid his age! It seemed well looked after though. |
SPACE PANTS!!!
There's a guy who works BOH, and he's like 18 and growing a mullet. It's at a really awkward stage at the moment. The other BOH keep teasing him about it! Maybe they're coming back?? |
This kid was not much under 10, I'd say.
Pat Sharp got rid of his mullet and the world moved on. We don't need them back again. |
Also, ARGH!
|
We absolutely don't
:-D |
"Accidentally" cut it off for him at work some time.
That worked really well btw, Beckie. Worked a treat. |
Should do!
You're welcome! |
15 minutesssssss to gooo
|
My mum did bring me Costa - and at 3 Dad brought me afternoon tea :)
|
Earwormed myself with 21 seconds to go now....
|
Very nice, tamo!
|
Jealous of the Costa!
And yaaay np you are done! (Or should be at least!) |
You have earwormed me as well NP! Well played!
Beckie I managed to avoid getting space pants stuck in my head but can you avoid guinea pig bridge I wonder? Costa and afternoon tea that is some good parental support right there. Glad you have them to bring you treats Tamo. I am just thinking of making myself another cup of tea. Costa is much superior to Starbucks. I too am Jealous tbh. |
Starbucks sucks. Final.
|
The coffee at Starbucks just tastes burnt. Can only drink it with a gazillion syrups.
|
I can never avoid guinea pig bridge!
I also prefer costa |
The only local chain coffee here is Costa. I quite like it, although I've gone decaf.
I hope you're all having good afternoons. I tried to catch up but got stuck at the idea of NP marching around with a nerf gun singing songs. Also mullets. |
The only local chain here is costa too
Loool It was quite distracting XD |
Soup, hurray!
|
So distracting.
Soup! What kind of soup? |
Carrot and coriander, with actual sticks of carrot, bizarrely.
|
Oh I love carrot and coriander soup, haven't had it for ages! The sticks of carrot in it are an interesting choice. Hope you enjoy!
|
I used to get a Costa everyday when I worked in London.
We have all the coffee chains here (Starbucks, Costa, Cafe Nero, Pret a Manger, Coffee No. 1) but I do live on the outskirts of a small city. A small one but a city none the less. It was an amusing image for sure. Mullets came back in style briefly in lockdown I think. Dont think they are still stylish though |
Soup, soup
A tasty soup, soup A spicy carrot and coriander https://youtu.be/1xDKt82kgzY?si=FZWX4DL7QNXQjIeK |
Was the lockdown mullet actually a fashion trend or just people not being able to get a haircut?
Glad I provided some amusement this afternoon =P I am indeed home now with a much needed day off tomorrow too. |
A very philosophical question there NP. I think they had to chop the front themselves to get the mullet look to work. But maybe the mullet trend happened because people couldn't reach the back to cut it themselves.
Much needed amusement might I add NP. Day off tomorrow sounds well deserved I am pretty on edge this evening. Trying to decide whether to attempt to make some dinner or grab a nap first. |
Hope you made a decision, Jen?
I don't know what to do with myself this evening either. |
Love the mighty boosh.
|
My partner has heroically stepped in and is currently cooking Kyiv's, potato wedges and veggies.
The mighty boosh is legendary I once shared a lift with the man who played Howard. I didn't introduce myself though as at the time I embarassingly couldn't remember the actors real name and he was with his wife and kids so didn't want to hassle him. |
What an honour!
|
I did find it really cool. And it felt much more chill to just politely say hello and let him and his family out of the lift than to fan girl. It was way back when I was at uni, I think around 2015
|
Morning everyone
Sorry i haven't caught up in goings on! There was a lot of posts and it was a little overwhelming |
Morning all.
It was only the usual nonsense, Beckie. Don't worry. I'm gearing myself up to get a haircut today... D= |
Hey np!
Is it only a trim? I love the hairdressers, i know you aren't a fan though! Hope it goes ok! I need to book a haircut actually. Been meaning to for ages. Do you have to do anything else today? |
I guess it's only a trim, kinda need get it back into some sort of style. I haven't been since February 2020! Worried the hairdresser is going to know I've been cutting it myself.... but I think it's time to start again and get it done properly. Haven't actually got an appointment, I'm just gonna ring up when they open and see if they can fit me in. Feeling very anxious =/
I might go buy a new hoover too. Mentioned that here ages ago and still haven't done it. Otherwise, no plans really. Might try and clean the house up a bit. How's your day looking? |
That's a long time!
Sure it'll be fine. Good thing to get sorted. Ooh new hoover! Exciting! I'm gonna text manager and see if i can have the day off, because he didn't message me yesterday :eyeroll: I have no cope left and will probably end up having another breakdown over something stupid and embarrass myself. Need to get over myself! |
Nah you don't need to get over yourself - you need some time to rest and recuperate. There's a big difference.
Annoying when people don't reply! |
True!
I've just messaged him again, because if i can't have the day off, I'll have to leave in a couple of hours. If he doesn't respond soon I'll just call the pub It is super annoying! |
A new hoover is very exciting!
I am pretty rubbish at getting haircuts. At the moment I am averaging one hair cut every 12 - 14 months. It's not that I mind having my hair cut I just suck at getting round to it. And so my hair cycles from medium short(a inch or two off my shoulders) to super long (all the way down my back/just above my butt). Ideal length is around where it is now at my shoulders 2 an a bit months after my last haircut XD NP speaks wisdom you are going through a lot at the moment Beckie and when you got out of hospital you threw yourself back into work and worked 4 shifts in a week. I know that was a money thing but it makes sense that you need a break from work today |
