Morning! Oh no - do you know the cause of the stomach ache? Do take it easy!

Cacoethes 03-08-2023 09:39 AM

Morning!
I've just escaped the ward to get myself a hot chocolate
Very fashionable in my galaxy print trousers, platform converse, hospital gown and hoodie XD
#catwalk

Peppermint tea is good for stomachache tamo!

tamobhuuta 03-08-2023 10:17 AM

I think it's constipation, I've taken my prescribed meds.

I thought I was meeting my new support worker at 2pm so I was all laid back. Turns out it's at 11am!

Enjoy your hot chocolate Cacoethes.

Pi.R^2 03-08-2023 10:22 AM

Hope the meds help tamo. And lol- best get ready then if it's at 11!

Beckie, hooray for hot chocolate =D Also I hope they cure you soon.

not_so_insig 03-08-2023 10:25 AM

Hello all. Ryl bin day. My ordinary bin has been collected just the recycling that hasn't.

nonperson 03-08-2023 10:33 AM

Beckie has real life space pants! Please please please play the song as you walk through the ward.

long road 03-08-2023 10:34 AM

Morning everyone!

I am not sure how I am this morning. Think I may be a tiny bit better than yesterday but haven't done much to find out, still tired and a bit out of it. Didn't sleep until sometime after 2am and then woke up at 8am but managed to get back to sleep for an hour or so.

Hope all the ill people feel better soon and that you get well enough to be discharged Beckie.

Anything exciting happening in Jenna land?

Cacoethes 03-08-2023 11:00 AM

Hope your appointment goes ok tamo!

They are currently refusing to give me painkillers that might actually work. So I'm not hopeful.
Been taking paracetamol, ibuprofen and codeine since Tuesday night and none of it works.
Their solution 'ok, we'll prescribed more paracetamol and ibuprofen'????

OMG! I DO have space pants!!!
I shall refrain from playing the song, last thing i need is have to wait for psych liason as well as waiting for all the other stuff XD

Take things as they come jen! And take it easy!

Thanks jen :)

Elmer 03-08-2023 11:05 AM

I hope that all the poorly people feel better soon, and I agree that the song is 100% necessary.

Cacoethes 03-08-2023 11:13 AM

Thanks Lio!
How are you doing?

I will listen to the song with my headphones on XD

long road 03-08-2023 12:12 PM

You should film a space pants tik tok when you get out!
XD

I managed to shower which I am counting as a win. Took a lot of energy but it's nice to be clean. Don't worry Beckie am taking it very easy. No plans today.

tamobhuuta 03-08-2023 12:13 PM

It went OK with the support worker. I'm going to the bookshop with her next Wednesday so I've got time to psych myself up.

Sorry people aren't feeling well. Sending healthful vibes.

Pi.R^2 03-08-2023 12:16 PM

Well done for showering Jen, hope a day of no plans help you feel better.

Glad it went well with the support worker tamo, have you had a support worker for long?

*glues Lio to thread*

Ooh look, 5 members viewing the thread! *waves at everyone*

If asterisks get turned into pound signs I'm going to flip a table.

Cacoethes 03-08-2023 12:25 PM

Just waiting for mri
*crosses fingers*

If they do jenna, I'll flip all the imaginary bins in the thread. Including the recycling ones

Pi.R^2 03-08-2023 12:29 PM

Our asterisks are saved! Our bins and tables, imaginary or otherwise may remain undisturbed.

I'm sure they'll mention it but remember to take out your piercings before the MRI!

long road 03-08-2023 12:50 PM

Phew the imaginary furniture is safe!

Glad meeting support worker went ok Tamo.

one_step_closer 03-08-2023 12:59 PM

Important announcement. I will hopefully be getting my macbook back today (but see if i don?t, grrr) so soon i should be back to annoying you and you?ll want me gone.

long road 03-08-2023 01:05 PM

*crosses fingers MacBook is fixed today*

Cacoethes 03-08-2023 01:12 PM

I took out most of them. But there was a stubborn ear one! And i could keep the face ones and my neck one in.

Hope you get your macbook back today! We miss you!

Pi.R^2 03-08-2023 01:14 PM

Woo! The return of Lindsay is imminent!

tamobhuuta 03-08-2023 01:16 PM

Hi osc, looking forward to having you back!

Pi, today I met her for the first time.

long road 03-08-2023 01:33 PM

Hope that you didn't stick to the MRI machine Beckie. When I had one I was allowed no metal anywhere

Cacoethes 03-08-2023 01:38 PM

They're more relaxed about it nowadays it seems.
Could keep bra on and everything!
And i got to listen to the radio XD

long road 03-08-2023 01:57 PM

I got to listen to radio although you rarely her with with the racket the machine makes!

Weird they wouldn't even let me wear my joggers with metal on the toggles!

tamobhuuta 03-08-2023 02:34 PM

When I had an MRI it was same as lr, no metal at all. But they did play me music :)

Elmer 03-08-2023 03:12 PM

Hooray for the return of Lindsay!

I've never had an MRI, they don't sound like much fun

Pi.R^2 03-08-2023 03:16 PM

To update you all on my exciting adventures I am at T’s house to water her snake trying to work out how to coax him out for handling time!

tamobhuuta 03-08-2023 03:20 PM

Water a snake???

Pi.R^2 03-08-2023 03:42 PM

Well, as in give it water. It has a perfectly good dish of water but allegedly needs refreshing every two days. Think I killed her cress as well so that’ll teach her to send me to water her plants and pets when she’s away

tamobhuuta 03-08-2023 04:09 PM

Oh ok I get it. Can you revive the cress?

long road 03-08-2023 04:28 PM

I literally imagined you using a watering can on a snake XD

Water left to open air for too long can become stagnant and develop bacteria. That's why they tell you to always drinking from running water in a survival situation.

not_so_insig 03-08-2023 04:32 PM

Hello all. A woman who was sitting next to me triggered me on the bus so not feeling so great. But I will be ok.

Cacoethes 03-08-2023 04:46 PM

MRIs are not much fun!
I've just had a full eye check at the eye clinic, my pupils are still messed up from that dilating stuff XD
But everything seems fine. So i am being released! Have to go back to the eye clinic in 2 weeks because eye is definitely affected, but structurally sound!

I knew what jenna meant but also imagined using a watering can on a snake XD

tamobhuuta 03-08-2023 05:02 PM

Look after yourself insig.

Glad you're OK Cacoethes.

Cacoethes 03-08-2023 05:19 PM

Thanks!
So pleased to be getting out of here!

long road 03-08-2023 05:48 PM

At least they have found no major problems and you get to go home. Hospital is never a fun place to be. Even if it is sometimes the best place for you!

Pi.R^2 03-08-2023 06:00 PM

Just a jolly reminder that this is general chat so anything of a more serious/triggering nature needs to be in the serious chat thread, your RV or a support thread. Thanks gang!

Pi.R^2 03-08-2023 06:01 PM

Now without my mod hat, so pleased that you're out in time for your holiday Beckie!

omg, that reminds me that K and I had a lengthy dispute about the location of Heathrow yesterday so hope you have better luck locating it :P

long road 03-08-2023 06:19 PM

How was it a lengthy dispute when Google maps exist???

Pi.R^2 03-08-2023 06:24 PM

Well. The short answer is that K and I can make a lengthy dispute out of anything.

We were discussing where to park for the meet as we're coming from Hampshire (which often moves so doesn't help but it's currently like underneath London) and were discussing parking near Harrow-ish but then I said that technically Heathrow end was closest then K kept saying things that didn't make sense and we eventually established that they were saying if we are going for closest tube station we needed Reading as they were under the impression that Reading was south of Heathrow. Then we debated that (and also the definition of 'tube station') and even when I looked on the map on my phone I couldn't get both labelled in the same screen and it was a right old fiasco. The conclusion is that I'll independently look up some parking options.

long road 03-08-2023 06:48 PM

How amusing! I suggest somewhere outside the M25 because nobody has time for the M25.

Cacoethes 03-08-2023 06:56 PM

I would have been out in time anyway. But it was nice that i was actually ALLOWED to go XD

All that disputing has made my brain hurt

long road 03-08-2023 07:10 PM

Oh dear you best have a lie down Beckie! Doubt you slept properly last night considering your accomodation.

I just finished watching Harry Potter 1. I forgot how weird the first Voldemort was.

Cacoethes 03-08-2023 07:44 PM

I actually slept remarkably well! Which is very odd!
It was a pretty chill bay though.
No screaming old people or dementia patients. Nice bunch.

Yeah first voldy was a bit weird!

long road 03-08-2023 07:51 PM

Somehow Voldemort looks better with no nose. Which is something I don't think I have said about anyone fictional or otherwise before.

Cacoethes 03-08-2023 07:59 PM

Probably because we're just so used to images of full voldy?

long road 03-08-2023 08:09 PM

True anyone is going to look weird on the back of someone else's head in bad cgi

Cacoethes 03-08-2023 08:30 PM

Yeah. Not really a flattering situation for anyone

long road 03-08-2023 08:40 PM

Good thing it's not a common occurrence!

I watching number 2 now. There are all on itvx at the moment. Which means they are free although I have to endure occassional ads. The movies are pure nostalgia for me. Although I do not agree with JK's views at all.

tamobhuuta 03-08-2023 08:41 PM

The first film is my favourite. I thought he was sans nose in the other films too?
