Sorry your birthday card didn't arrive on your actual birthday Lindsay. But I am glad that you got it.
|
That's ok, it was still nice to receive it.
|
Hey everyone
|
Hi maii!
Well done insig. Well done washing osc. Hi Cacoethes. |

Hi all! tamo, hope you manage to get a little bit of leave if you feel up to using it safely. Lindsay, glad you got some more RYL mail today! Dawn, bravo on the wild swimming, I'm shivering at the thought... maii, I second the query about your timezone! Zurg, I'm so sorry there's no one you can ask for help :( And it's totally unreasonable that people would be angry and call you names if you did ask. Beckie, hope the ED appointment of doom went well |
Hi Beckie, Tamo, and Jenna. Hope you're all doing ok.
|
Woah, 7 minutes Dawn!!! Impressive. You would be gladly accepted in the ‘viking club' that is one of the local winter bathing clubs in my city. In Denmark, that is actually a very popular thing. And i'd love to try but i can't swim so i think throwing myself into the icy waves might not end too well…. But it looks so cool (pun ;) when they have to make holes in the ice to get into the actual water.
I hope your laundry experience was better than mine, Lindsay. Our laundry room was filthy and it was full of clothes that nobody had bothered to Pick up. I ended up sweeping the floor because i couldn't bear to leave it like that. Actually, that is how it always ends… But it gets tiresome after a while. A lot of people don't bother keeping the communal areas tidy. They Seem to think that paying rent doesn’t mean that it's in their own interest to keep the buildings and gardens decent. Jenna, there are people i can ask for financial help but they are good friends and i feel so terrible when borrowing money from them. They don't have more than i do and i'd feel so guilty. And my bank makes me feel like a criminal before i even make it through all the self dial crap and get to speak to an actual person :( |
I'm sure your friends would rather you asked for help than struggled without!
I know it's never nice to have to ask people for money though. I've had to do it before and it doesn't get easier. |
I had fun with my friend chatted, had lunch, then I went for a nap and he played a game with my partner. I woke up from nap in time to say goodbye. But not long after he left my asthma started flaring and ended up having to call an ambulance and am now sitting in Same Day Emergency Care.
|
Sorry to hear that jen
Hope you manage to get home soon |
one_step_closer, HI :)
tamobhuuta, Hi :) Pi.R^2 HI :) Hope all is well! I live in New England USA so that would be Eastern Standard Time (EST) So its 3:04PM here as I type ... hope that helped and no worries about trying to match my time, I realize everyone isn't on the same time when I post and I'm fine with that :) Side Note: Dang ... Firefox leaves those gaps and I have to delete them after I post Lol ... but chrome gives me issues on here for some reason. |
I hope they are looking after you lr.
|
Zurg there's a Danish person called Wim Hof who is rather fond of cold water and getting people to swim in cold temperatures. I don't know if you have heard of him. He did a TV series earlier on this year here in the UK but I didn't see it.
Thanks Jenna and Lindsay. |
I just escaped been discharged from SDEC
|
That's great news Jen!
|
Good news jen!
Morning everyone |
Morning!
I got about 4 and a half hours sleep :plain: but it was al in my own bed and that's a win. Respiratory nurse should be calling today, Doctor at SDEC last night said he would contact them. |
Hey jen
Ugh. Grim. Hopefully the nurse can help It's so windy! A bin just yeeted itself out into the middle of the road. Should probably go and pick it up because it's a hazard. Not my bin though. |
*fingers crossed* they will be helpful
It's rather blusterous here too! Although have yet to see any bins being yeeted this morning! Not your bin, not your problem. So if going outside is too much effort I say leave it. Any plans for today? |
Fingers crossed!
I picked them up. They were right in the middle of the road. It's awful out there! I'm having a smart meter fitted today, between 8am-12pm. So i have to stay in for that. Need to go to asda to get some gift bags and also seeing L at some point, depending on what time things happen. And also need to put washing away when it's done and do a mini clean out for the boys. |
What a good citizen you are!
Urgh I hate time slots. Hope they get there soon so you can disengage waiting mode quicker! Yay for seeing L! You two are such a cute couple <3 |
Morning guys. It's very windy here too, don't know if it's enough to blow over bins.
|
Just doing my bit for the community!
Eon man is here! Said it should take about an hour to do both gas and electric. I've made him a coffee because it's cold and he's working outside. Aww thanks <3 |
I'm glad the eon man has arrived. What will you do while he works?
|
I'm just listening to music on my phone, because the power is off.
And random internetting. Morning tamo! How are you? |
I'm ok. My mum/dad aren't coming till 11 but I can't be bothered to do anything.
|
Morning Tamo! How is your day shaping up?
Bet the Eon man appreciates a coffee on a day like today Beckie! What tunes you listening to? Respiratory nurse just called. I am doing all the right things, keep on the steroids, keep using my usual asthma attack plan and if I am needing a load of nebulisers seek medical input as per yesterday. She is going to query whether a sleep study would be helpful as I often get symptoms at night / after lying down. And she is going to chase my respiratory consultant follow up. She said I was really polite and understanding about delays to respiratory follow up and apologised saying how backed up they are isn't acceptable. So keep doing what I am doing and hopefully keep on top of things. |
It's good to know you're doing the right things.
I'm hoping to get news about leave. |
Not too long to wait now tamo!
He was very grateful for the coffee! I'm just listening to stuff on shuffle, so it's a mix! That seems like quite a positive phone call! Fingers crossed for good leave news! Eon man has done the electric and is doing the gas now |
It's windy af here. Lost half the contents of my recycling box plus a container due to the wind. It was nowhere to be seen so I guess it's permanently lost. It's also cold and raining at the same time.
|
Oh no insig! Is it difficult getting a new one?
I like a good shuffle. Thanks for crossed fingers. |
Morning everyone. It is very wet and windy here. My bedroom is at the back of my house and there is a football pitch at the back of my house so no shelter so I was awake lots with the noise. Luckily my bin stayed upright at the front but I walked onto a close street and there was litter from their bins everywhere.
I'm glad the Eon man is there already, Beckie. I hope you enjoy your visit Tamo and get good news about leave. Keep doing all the helpful things, Jen. I hope you get a break soon. I hope it's easy enough to get a replacement, Dawn. |
Maybe these winds are actually Death Eater activity?!?
|
Yeah litter everywhere here too!
Terrible. I'm glad the meter thing is being done early so i can get other stuff done. Though 8am-12pm isn't that bad of a timescale. At least it's not a 'between 9am-5pm' thing! |
Yeah, long timescales shouldn't be a thing. Surely people can organise themselves a bit to give a closer timescale.
I hope there are no Death Eaters around, can't be doing with that! |
Morning Lindsay and Dawn!
From the weather reports it is windy in South East England, South West England, Scotland and Wales. Any news from our northern correspondents Jenna and Beth? It was a positive phonecall, part of me was hoping there was an easy answer/quick fix that she would suggest but realistically I knew that was unlikely. Quote:
|
We should totally have our own weather channel! We'd maybe be more reliable because we're reporting the actual weather as it is happening.
|
You'd think so!
Reminds me of the scene in mean girls 'There's a 30% chance that it's already raining' |
Bbc always start by saying what the weather is. Like, I know what the weather is, I'm experiencing it!
|
Yeah it's a bit weird!
|
I don't know if I should try to dehair my underarms. Last time wasn't very successful.
|
It's something to do, if nothing else!
Eon man has finished and I'm very excited about my shiny new smart meter! Now gonna brave the outdoors and go to asda |
I have a spare one of the one that blew away so it's a case of digging it out.
|
Also had my calendar arrive today plus a charity newsletter.
|
Exciting south west update a bin just blew over outside my house!
|
The bins have been collected now so I've put mine back into it's wind safe corner!
Been to asda. Finally got baking ingredients for S's Christmas cakes and also gift bags, because i am TERRIBLE at wrapping! |
It's not even bin day here. But the block if flats opposites bins randomly ended up outside my block if flats last week and noone form those flats has rescued them.
What cake are you making S? |
afternoon all,
I've just woken up! |
Annoyingly, I checked my work email even though I'm off today and January's rota has been sent through with no accomodations (as agreed so many bloody times) for my therapy appointments. I'm meant to do longer Mondays and Tuesdays, and finish at 1:30 every Thursday so I can have my session at 2 and not go back in.
On the rota thats been done for January, I have my Thursdays as: First week: 4:45 finish, second week:4:45 finish, third week 4:45 finish, fourth week i’m on annual leave, 5th week 7:15pm finish. Good job I'm probably quitting them! |
That's weird jen!
I'm making fairy cakes. Got some red and green food colouring and different sprinkles! You must have needed the sleep beth! That's annoying. Rota woes are a pain in the bum |
