long road 27-02-2023 10:03 AM

I got through! Used the auto redial function and it called 20 times and on 20th try I got the opportunity to sit on hold for 8 minutes. My GP surgery isn't usually this bad for waiting, you can usually get through to sit on hold at least. But it is a Monday morning so I will cut them some slack. Want to talk to someone about asthma attack on Saturday. Nurse should be calling at some nebulous time this morning.

Which means my plans are mostly wait around to see when they call. Should be heading outside for morning routine but hesitant to try after attack on Saturday.

When is work?
Would writing out the things you are worried about help? I guess one of them is flat inspection?

Cacoethes 27-02-2023 10:27 AM

Glad you got through!
Mondays are always especially busy for them!

I hope the nurse can help!
I'm sure it'll be ok to miss your morning routine for one day. Definitely an understandable reason.

Work is at 12. So i usually leave around 11:15
Not really. I've done what I can do, cleaning wise.
Though it is the first inspection since I've had the guinea pigs. Obviously I got the landlords permission to have them but worried they'll complain about something.
More worried about other stuff that's going on. But I'm seeing cpn on Thursday so i guess I'll bring it up then. Though i did bring it up with crisis and they didn't give a crap so idk

tamobhuuta 27-02-2023 11:03 AM

Morning guys. I wish I were still in bed but I had to wash my hair.

Cacoethes 27-02-2023 11:09 AM

Morning.
Any plans for today?

tamobhuuta 27-02-2023 11:12 AM

I'm going for an ECG at 2.30pm.

How are you feeling about work?

Cacoethes 27-02-2023 11:18 AM

Hope it goes ok.

Not great and I don't really want to go in.
But kinda have to.

long road 27-02-2023 11:37 AM

Nurse has asked me to come in for appointment at 11. So shall see how it goes.

Sorry to hear mental health stuff is bothering you. Hope CPN is more help onThursday than last time. You could try calling duty? When does your shift end?

Hope your ECG goes smoothly Tamo.

Cacoethes 27-02-2023 11:41 AM

Hope the nurse can help!

I finsh at 6 so wouldn't be able to call them.
And tbh I find duty just makes things worse.

Zurg 27-02-2023 12:22 PM

Hi all :)

Had a bad kind of weekend that decided to screw up my sleep last night. Stomach ache and headache and restless legs kept me awake for most of the night. Have to leave in a wee while for appointment at psych hospital.

I hope work goes okay, Beckie <3 I also hope your cpn can pull himself together and be just remotely useful when you see him again!!!

I hope the nurse can help you today, Jen. Difficulty breathing is one of the worst feelings ever!!!

I hope your appointment Will be okay and stressfree, Tamo :)

long road 27-02-2023 01:21 PM

Hey Zurg, eurgh to not sleeping it really sucks. Maybe you can get a nap after your appointment. Hope psych hospital appointment goes / has gone well.

Got some steroid tablets to take to try and get inflammation under control. Compromised on a slightly lower dose than nurse was thinking as the higher dose makes me hallucinate! Just got to take meds, have lots of fluids and rest now, so back in bed propped up. Difficulty breathing is really horrible, you don't realise how much you taking breathing for granted until your lungs misbehave

one_step_closer 27-02-2023 01:34 PM

Hi everyone.

I hope when you see your CPN on Thursday he is more helpful, Beckie. I hope work is as kind to you as possible.

I hope your ECG goes fine, Tamo and you can do other nicer things with your day too.

I hope your appointment goes well, Kat and you have a better sleep tonight. Take it easy when you can.

I hope you're feeling better soon, Jen. I would be terrified if I couldn't breathe well which I guess might make things worse. Look after yourself.

I'm going to make a beef casserole soon. Will have the oven on for 3 hours which is bad. I do have a slow cooker which I got about 2 years ago maybe but I've never used it and don't fancy trying it right now.

not_so_insig 27-02-2023 01:37 PM

Afternoon all. I have tesco coming later. 3 substitutions and 3 unavailable items. I am definitely rejecting one of the substitutions as it's one of the things I hate. So I will probably go to the co op at some point to get something i like.

tamobhuuta 27-02-2023 01:39 PM

Get well soon long road!

I hope work goes by quickly Cacoethes.

Sorry you're not feeling great Zurg. I hope your appointment goes OK.

Mmm beef casserole. I shouldn't say that, as a veggie, should I!

tamobhuuta 27-02-2023 01:42 PM

Ninja insig! I hope they have what you need at the co op.

long road 27-02-2023 01:43 PM

Thanks for all the well wishes.

It can be scary when it's really bad. I have had asthma my whole life so I am fairly used to low level difficulty. Attacks are the scariest bit. Today is rough but it could be worse sometimes I end up in hospital and on oxygen and stuff.

Hopefully the steroids will sort me out quickly. Not looking forward to the insomnia and extra psych symptoms they generally give me though.

Mmm beef casserole sounds lovely. My mum used to always make a casserole in Sundays. Weare having a roast tonight.

Gah substitutions!

not_so_insig 27-02-2023 01:47 PM

Sorry you're feeling rough, Jen.

not_so_insig 27-02-2023 01:49 PM

Jen at least they're sensible this time. I once asked for breadcrumbs and ended up with noodles. Not sure how that worked out.

one_step_closer 27-02-2023 03:05 PM

Will you be able to get all the missing things from your order locally, Dawn? Tesco seem bad for not having things at the moment. I usually get an Asda delivery now and then and they're mostly ok although they had to substitute toilet roll this week but forgot to bring the toilet roll.

You're allowed to still like meaty things, Tamo. Maybe you and your family could make veg casserole some time.

I hope things are less difficult health wise for you soon, Jen. I hope the side effects of the steroids don't happen this time if it's possible. Enjoy your roast. :-)

not_so_insig 27-02-2023 03:22 PM

Oh yes Lindsay I will be able to get it. It was lettuce for my vegan burger so it's not a massive deal if I can't get any. Just have to have the burger without it.

It would be nice to feel healthier soon, asthma on top of FND is a lot to deal with. Less likely to get side effects as severely because on a lower dose but always get some.

Because noodles are clearly bread crumbs XD I guess they are both made of wheat but that's about the closest I can think of! I think substitutes are mainly done by what the algorithm/ app suggests to the picker if the ordered thing isnt there. Bit I have heard sometimes bored workers try and put something whacky on for fun.

My partner has just got back from picking up our click and collect order from Tesco. I generally keep substitutions off apart from for staples like milk, bread, eggs etc.

Maybe you could try a veg and bean casserole Tamo. With lots of root veg and maybe some butternut squash.

tamobhuuta 27-02-2023 04:41 PM

I do like butternut squash. A bean casserole can be really nice.

My ECG was fine :)

not_so_insig 27-02-2023 04:42 PM

That's good tamobhuuta.

I have had my tesco shopping order. The tesco man made me sign for it which hasn't been done since before covid.

long road 27-02-2023 04:45 PM

Butternut squash is one of my favourite vegetables I like to put in casseroles and stews, in risottos and even on Pizza!

Glad ECG was ok. Does that mean you get to wait longer before you have to get another one?

tamobhuuta 27-02-2023 05:04 PM

I think it was just a one off one, because I had loads in hospital which had mixed results.

long road 27-02-2023 05:26 PM

Even better, hope you are correct and don't need any nore. ECG stickers are so annoying!

one_step_closer 27-02-2023 05:58 PM

ECG stickers are ok unless they're left on at the end, then my skin reacts badly. I'm glad your ECG was fine, Tamo.

What's everyone up to with the rest of the day?

not_so_insig 27-02-2023 06:47 PM

I am not up to much Lindsay this evening. Just gotta cook and decide what I'm having for tea.

long road 27-02-2023 07:03 PM

I am going to watch the new episode of my show Australian Survivor after dinner. Until then I am propped up in bed watching you tube.

How did your casserole turn out OSC?

tamobhuuta 27-02-2023 08:01 PM

I finished watching the third Fantastic Beasts film, I'd completely forgotten how it ended.

We're having roasted sweet potatoes for dinner, with cheese and beans.

long road 27-02-2023 08:11 PM

Sounds delicious. I love sweet potatoes and bean and cheese. Although generally I baked ordinary potato with my cheese beans. And sometimes I make an English burrito with cheese and baked beans in a wrap.

I stopped watching fantastic beasts after the first film.

Cacoethes 27-02-2023 08:11 PM

Evening everyone!

tamobhuuta 27-02-2023 08:38 PM

What did you not like about the film long road? I actually prefer the Fantastic Beasts to the Harry Potters.

How are you Cacoethes?

Zurg 27-02-2023 08:45 PM

Hi all.

Trying to stay awake but really just want to go to bed. I don't work like a human at all when i don't have enough sleep. Been super irritable and restless all day. I hope i feel better tomorrow, taking Findus to the vet for a nail trim. I always end up feeling like crap whenever i need the vet even if it's for something non serious. We're going on my bike. Findus' transport case can convert to a bagpack which is quite handy when i have no one to drive me and thus need to ride my bike. But he struggles quite a bit to get out so trying to steer can be a bit of a Challenge….

Trying to Think of things i want to do in life. I feel utterly defeated and useless and without purpose at all…. I can't see myself ever getting to a decent place in life which, tbh, makes everything Seem like a complete waste of time. Pah!!!

Cacoethes 27-02-2023 09:02 PM

I'm ok
Just exhausted

Go to bed zurg!
I believe you're an hour ahead of us so it is definitely an 'acceptable' bedtime!

Idk what I want to do in life either tbh.
I don't think anyone really does!
But there's still time to figure it out

long road 27-02-2023 09:21 PM

I did like the first film Tamo. To be honest I never got around to watching the second when it was in the cinmeas and I heard some bad reviews so didn't try when it was out on dvd.

Bed sounds acceptable Zurg. Knowing a little about scandanavia it's probably been dark for ages by you! Good luck taking Findus to the vets I hope he is uncharacteristically calm for his whole backpack journey. Does his carrier have a bubble window? I have seen funny ones for cats with bubble windows where if they stick their heads in the bubble they look like kitty astronauts!

If you ar exhausted Beckie perhaps when it gets to 9pm here you can try going to bed too! Hope you and the boys are doing ok with the salad shortages and crazy prices.

I have some things I want to do like go back to work, but I have no idea if that will be achievable. A lot of the things I wanted to do have had to change since developing FND, stuff like travel and getting back into hiking just aren't feasible right now.

Cacoethes 27-02-2023 09:39 PM

Knowing me, I probably still won't be able to sleep!
I'm constantly exhausted but it doesn't help the sleep issue, frustratingly!

I've been ok getting veggies for them so far! I had to get the lettuce from aldi instead of asda but that's the only issue I've had! *crosses fingers*
Prices are an issue though. 75p for a cucumber!!!

Good things to work towards!
I really hope you manage to get back into those things.
I love to travel too. I was actually looking at flights earlier! Though I don't think the 59p I have currently will get me far XD
New Zealand is my ultimate dream destination

long road 27-02-2023 10:16 PM

As discussed the other day not sleeping really sucks. Have you tried meditation at all? I sometimes find it helps merest even if I can't actually sleep. That or lying their listening to podcasts. I am going to try and get some sleep shortly but it's tricky with my asthma flaring. Last night I got two three hour chunks around 1:30am until 4:30 am and 5:30ish until 8:25am

Maybe you could grow some lettuce for them in pots on your grass.in the summer. Or get long handled shears to make gathering grass for them easier. Glad you have secured lettuce 75p for a cucumbe ris extortion!

I don't think 58p will even get you one stop on the bus these days! I watch a lot of travel vlogs on you tube and live vicariously through them.

My dream places to visit are New Zealand and Iceland, my partner would like to go to Japan and I think that would be really cool too. I also would like to go back to Canada and show my partner some of the Rockies, I went to Canada for three weeks when I was 18 with the scouts, only time I have been outside Europe and I loved it. Oh and I want to visit my brother again, he lives in mainland Europe and although he came here last summer and Christmas I haven't been to his city since 2019. I want to meet his corgi and see my sister in law (she is Ukrainian and visas can be tricky plus her younger sister is staying with them).

Cacoethes 27-02-2023 10:24 PM

I haven't. Could give it a go!
Podcast wouldn't work.
I absolutely cannot have anything turned on when I'm sleeping. Tv, radio, lights....i even struggle to have a fan on in the summer! Luckily i now have one i put on a timer for that reason.
Just a bit weird like that!

Japan also looks really cool!
I want to go to so many places!
I've been to the US once, went to space camp in alabama when I was 11. Won a competition with SM:TV live back in the day!
I wouldn't be allowed in the US or Canada now i imagine, criminal record. Even new Zealand would be tricky!

My brother recently just randomly went to colorado.
He was made redundant last month and decided to go somewhere he knew his wife would never ever want to go and just went!
He went and visited the hotel from The Shining

long road 27-02-2023 10:39 PM

I like meditations on this website and unlike something like the CALM app they are completely free https://franticworld.com/free-medita...m-mindfulness/

I grew up listening to Audiobooks every night to go to sleep, I actually struggle to sleep if I don't have something to listen to. Only fall asleep when it's quiet if I am very tired.

So cool to win a TV competition, I never tried entering anything except the blue Peter ones. Space Camp sounds fun too!

That sucks, does your criminal convictions ever get spent and therefore don't affect visas anymore? I don't really know how it all works. I do know visas suck though, the first time my sister in law tried to visit UK in 2017, before her and my brother got married, her visa application was rejected because they didn't think her life in mainland Europe was good enough to go back to so thought she would stay here illegally once her visa was up. They got her a visa in 2018 to visit for Christmas but the whole process is eurgh!

The mountains in Colorado are really cool looking. Not sure I'd want to got the shininng hotel though! It would feel like tempting fate!

I am loggin off to try and sleep.

Cacoethes 28-02-2023 08:39 AM

Yeah, we had to send in an experiment to take up in a hot air balloon they were sending up into the atmosphere. Except i don't think they ended up doing it because of bad weather.
I had my photo in a london newspaper though! And the story was on one of the billboard things outside the newsagent.
Space camp was epic.

Not actually sure.
I know in NZ, they're a bit more lenient once 10 years have passed.
And the things happened in 2014 so I'm nearly there!

I used to watch a lot of border force shows and it does look tricky!

Hope you slept ok!

Morning everyone.
I have woken up with a headache. Ugh.

Zurg 28-02-2023 10:09 AM

Morning Beckie :)
Boo to headache though :(

I'm gonna go and do the dishes in a minute before we have to leave for the vet. There are too many things to do today and i feel stressed and anxious already.

I'd love to go to far away places too. Except i hate the actual travelling part that gets you there. I find travelling is constantly either insanely boring or insanely stressful. Either you're stuck on a plane or have to navigate through weird airports.

tamobhuuta 28-02-2023 10:58 AM

Morning guys.

Boo to headaches and stress. I've got a dentist appointment which I'm quietly stressing about.

Cacoethes 28-02-2023 11:39 AM

Morning guys!

Just take it one thing at a time zurg
Hope everything goes ok

Yeah travelling isn't great.
I'm not a fan of planes.
And the waiting around for them
The eurostar has been very handy! And is much more comfortable than a plane.
Though travelling is a lot better now we have phones and ipads!

Hope dentist goes ok.
Hate the dentist!

one_step_closer 28-02-2023 11:50 AM

Morning everyone.

Have you taken painkillers for your headache, Beckie, or are you just going to wait and see if it resolves. Whenever I'm in pain I hardly ever think about taking painkillers, plus I can only take expensive Calpol Six Plus (which says adults can use it too).

How was your sleep last night, Beckie? What are you doing today?

I hope everything goes well at the vet, Kat and you can find a way to de-stress. Do you have to do everything today? Can you at least take breaks?

I hope your dentist appointment goes well, Tamo. I feel for you. Do something nice afterwards.

I've got the gym group at 1pm and need to put a washing on when I get back. I never leave anything running when I go out. I know some people put their washing machine on and leave the house with it still running which you're not meant to do. I'm very fire safety conscious.

not_so_insig 28-02-2023 11:53 AM

Morning all. I leave the washing machine going. But never the tumble dryer or candles. I have had a parcel today but I can't find the scissors to open it.

one_step_closer 28-02-2023 11:56 AM

How over the top are some things wrapped though! A small thing in a huge box with lots of paper and tape!

Cacoethes 28-02-2023 11:59 AM

Yeah I had some paracetamol which resolved it!
I rarely take painkillers but I had stuff to do so needed it resolved!

Sleep was kind of ok.
Weird dreams though!

I kind of have to leave the machine running. I'm out of the house so much, I'd never get washing done if I had to stay in to supervise it!
They say you're not supposed to leave it or do it overnight. Which for a lot of people just really isn't possible!

one_step_closer 28-02-2023 12:04 PM

I'm glad your headache has gone. I wonder how weird dreams are made, or any dreams at all. It's just a strange thing altogether.

Cacoethes 28-02-2023 12:06 PM

Thanks
It is very strange
I used to have a dream analysis book but not sure if i believe in that stuff

Zurg 28-02-2023 12:22 PM

We're back again. Findus decided he wanted to escape on the last bit of the Way so he started digging intensively in the bagpack. And we were on a bit of road without a path for bicycles so my steering was a bit messy ;) thankfully it's a bit of a quiet road at this time of day.
Now wee Findus is very offended and refuse to even sniff the treats i've put down for him. He is my baby bun-bun <3
