Fallout- Ellen Hopkins. The Help was an amazing book, the film was good too but not as good as the book

Snuff by Terry Pratchett

Stellata 30-12-2011 09:39 PM

Just finished Death Mask by Kathryn Fox. It's about sexual abuse by US footballers, a crime/thriller novel. Excellent. Outside 'my' genre, but none of these loads of detectives and police people, it was more psychological fiction in a way. Which for me = good.

Now on Last Night in Twisted River by John Irving.

I just bought a couple new books (because i have to have something to read lying around)

Can't remember what one is but the other is an Anita Blake vampire hunter, unfortunatly at the time in the shop i couldnt work out which one came first so i started part way through the series (as usual for me)

Every time I start a book it's like i'm on a mission to finish it as quickly as possible so I can get on to the next book!

The War Doctor 04-01-2012 03:26 AM

I stopped reading Devils/The Possessed by Fyodor Dostoevsky, it's just too slow-paced and I don't have the patience for it right now. I'll go back to it someday.

In the meantime I'm re-reading The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien, followed by The Lord of the Rings (which is also very slow-paced, I know, but for some reason it doesn't bother me with this particular book).

I'm reading Human Traces - Sebastian Faulks. So far I dont think its in the same league as Birdsong but it is interesting. Hard going but it gets better.
