I'm doing wordsearches.
|
No problem Beckie hope you find something to entertain yourself with. Dont forget we are here if you need someone to talk to.
|
I used to love word searches.
Now when I look at them the words all starts moving about on the page for some reason! Thank you Dawn <3 |
Sudoku =P
|
Oh god! My worst nightmare!
XD |
What better time to learn though!
|
I have tried many times and become frustrated to the point of rage!
Just like origami |
My first sudoku took me two weeks to complete. I understand the rage.
But ooh I like origami. There's a siamese cat that I want to try. |
That's quite a while!
Origami looks cool. I just can't do it! Ugh I may have to go to bed This double vision is really pissing me off And now I feel sick! |
I think I like things with stages of instructions like Lego and making order out of sudoku.
Oh no! Bed sounds like the best place to be though. =/ |
I get what you mean
Yes it is Double vision is better Still can't sleep though :plain: |
Maybe a sudoku will help send you to sleep? However it could rage you into staying awake for hours... hm
|
Haha!
It probably would rage me into being more awake! |
Then I am out of suggestions... =/
|
No worries!
I'm hoping to fall asleep at some point! Being on my phone probably isn't helping.... Sleep hygiene and all that |
Yep. Do you have it set to go into "blue mode" or whatever it's called at night?
|
Hm. Its not called blue mode at all... It makes the screen less blue and more red/orange.
|
Not a clue what that is!
|
Or "night mode" or something. There should be a setting for it.
|
I shall have a look!
|
On my phone it's called blue light filter.
|
Android or iphone, Beckie?
|
On my android phone it;s called Blue Light Filter or Eye Comfort and you can schedule it to come on at certain times. Mine runs from 6pm until 7am with the warmest colour temperature setting.
|
Android
That sounds pretty cool actually! I've given up on sleep and decided to get up |
Android settings should be the same as mine then. I'd have a look if I were you. It might not be the answer but might help.
Getting up is the worst thing you can doooo! I often read in bed until I drop the kindle on my head which is a good indication that I'm tired enough to sleep. |
Actually when I was learning sleep hygiene for the millionth time, they said to get up if you can't sleep!
Haha! Talking of sleep, why are you still up? |
Oh well I stand corrected about the getting up thing then.
I am still up because I am drinking too much and hyperactively browsing the internet. |
Hmmm. That doesn't sound healthy!
|
Pish to healthy.
|
Fair enough!
I'd be a total hypocrite if I tried to lecture you on what was healthy! |
We all have our downfalls.
|
We do indeed!
Like the nhs 111 option 2 guy who recommended a cup of tea and a bath. Oh the cliché! If I had alcohol I'd totally be playing the crisis team drinking game! |
Ugh, tea and bath are bad enough without being recommended as a helpful option.
Should I ask what the crisis team drinking game is? |
I can't even have baths because epilepsy!
It's basically drink everytime they say something ridiculously cliché for them Such as - think positively - use distraction techniques - sleep hygiene -.have a cup of tea - have a bath - go for a walk Etc. It's fun and frustrating at the same time! |
You'd have to ring up many many times in a row to make that a worthwhile drinking game.
|
Depends how many times they repeat themselves! (Usually a lot, this guy said it 4 separate times)
And whether the drinks are dequila shots... |
Hm. I could see that might get messy quickly.
|
Yep! Great fun!
|
|
:-D
I like how there are no adverts on TV at this time in the morning |
I've also just realised it's tequila, not dequila.
I am a terrible bartender XD |
Assumed that was what you meant.
Never tried tequila... as far as I know. |
It's not great
I can't drink it anymore |
Did you do it with the salt and lime? That just makes me think it's going to be bad if you need something before and after the shot.
I've never been good with sprits |
Yep!
It is bad I'm not good with spirits either Unless they are in a cocktail! Or in a shot full of sweet stuff! Like on Christmas eve we had 'squashed frogs' which was grenadine, advocat and watermelon liqueur. Very sweet. Very tasty! |
Just popping in to say hi and cos I figure this is my best chance at finding someone who is also still awake
Beckie, you will hopefully be pleased to know I have NEVER suggested a cup of tea, OR a walk, OR a bath :-p. Apart from twice when the person offered up that those things sometimes help! I find those things are generally suggested by people who don’t know what to suggest and want to document on the notes that they’ve suggested something (but don’t quote me on that ;-p). |
Crisis team are generally split into two types of people, especially at night:
- Those that are rota’d and generally like their jobs and want to help (note these people can also have bad days) - The bank/agency staff who book night/bank holiday shifts cos they are generally quieter and pay a LOT more money. This is, of course, an overgeneralisation but the disparity seems a lot greater out of hours. Also, in many areas the crisis team out of hours are taking 111 calls now due to increased covid demand. Like, not ‘it sounds like it might be mental health related so we will get crisis team to call you back’, but ‘it MIGHT be mental health related so the crisis team will now screen you’. Tbh, it sounds ****ing dangerous and friends I have who work full time for crisis team in areas surrounding London also HATE it! I don’t think this is all areas but it’s certainly becoming more common. |
Morning Emma!
I am very pleased to hear that you have never suggested those things! It is very refreshing to think it's not ALL mh people! I totally understand that people can have bad days. And that's cool. I don't even know if I actually spoke to 111 guy or crisis team. It could be one or the other! I guess it depends on how busy they are maybe? Idk This guy didn't know me which is very unusual lol |
Morning Beckie! I mean- I’m sure you have realised I can be a little blunt :-p, but genuinely have actually been pulled up by ‘old school nurses’ for ‘just talking’. You might be better off trying CPN tomorrow, if she’s not on leave.
|
Oh, and I don’t cover your area :-p. But even if you were, I’d have to ‘hand you over’ to somebody else :-p
