how be people today?





I FINALLY got my first covid jab last night. I may have had a bit of a pnaic attack in the queue, but the volunteer noticed and took me in the the building via the back door and sat me in my own corner behind a screen.
A nurse then came to check on me, she was really nice and didn't even moan about my stimming nor that I was having to communicate by writing stuff down.

After I had calmed down they gave me the jab, ad I didn't panic over being touched - part of why it's taken me so long to go (plus the whole agoraphobia thing)



today my arm is killing me :hehe: but at least it's done

wish it hadn't taken me like a year :ermm: but meh least it happened in the end. not looing forward to having to do it all again in 8 weeks though



especially as 8 weeks is christmas...

And Lindsay - I won't be building any bonfires for firework night and I won't be able to get close enough to the one at the firework event here on Friday (not paying to go in when I can watch the fireworks from my house and don't want to socialise with the people there, lol). We'll probably have a fire at work at some point though.

I'm not particularly fussed about fireworks
I'll probably be able to see lots from my house though

i dont hate christmas as such, I am just meh to it... I do hate how others seem to want to force me to engage with it though :eyeroll:

It seems too forced and unnatural, but people buy into it because they think they HAVE to.

The only thing I like about it is how excited jasmine gets!

that's kind of my issue too, it just feels forced and fake... but when I voice this I get shouted at



I gguess its different if you have kids because then you're sort of doing it for them.

the other year the boyfriends mum got annoyed that I dont celebrate christmas and when I said that I'm not christian so why would I she got really annoyed and yelled "what's christianity got to do with it?"




I gave up the conversation after that...

Well tbh I think for most people Christmas generally has nothing to do with Christianity.

I went to a pub once on Christmas day - it was really quiet!

We've been fully booked for Christmas day for months!
And have a long waiting list!

Do you have to book just to go in for drinks?

We didn't have food, just popped in for a pint before Christmas dinner at home.

No but we still serve food in the bar area so it will be absolute carnage! Like on a Sunday

We did that a couple of Christmases ago at the family's local. It was packed!

I always have a quiet Christmas, just me and my brother at home. Although he didn't come last year because of Covid. I don't mind Christmas on my own though, prefer it actually.

I spent one Christmas alone
It was a very depressing day!
Jasmine was still in care. So I spent the day in tears, drinking vodka out of the bottle and ate tomato soup out of the tin. Lol
And last Christmas in hospital wasn't great either.

But it all depends on the person!

I'm back. Went for a short walk with my friend and then decided to go for a drive so I didn't have to come home straight away. Normal tv routine for me tonight...

I've always been incredibly socially awkward so a job in a pub shouldn't really be for me!
But I make it work

I think it's easier to be less socially awkward if there's a job to do, rather than being thrown into a room of strangers and told to communicate with them. It defines the specific level of interaction required when it's job based!

Like I can talk to people about my work and show them around and talk to members of the public because they mostly want to know or say the same things so that's fine.

Yes I think that is right!

And in a pub, the interactions with people are usually pretty short. You take an order, you get the drinks, you give them the drinks!
Apart from yesterday when a regular required a therapy session....
