Sorry to hear that Lorraine. Is your throat still sore? Did you manage to get some lozenges?

Sketchy 29-09-2017 05:16 PM

I’m going to the shop next. I’ll get some then. My throat is still sore. I blame my sister. She gave me the cold. I’ve texted her to let her know what she’s done to me! *sobs hysterically *

Buttons. 29-09-2017 05:23 PM

You tell her, you tell her good :P

I just found a version of Call of the wild as you reminded me of the book Sibe! Did make me feel old though, said it was made in 2009 and my brain went 'oh that was only like, last year' then common sense kicked and was like actually, 8 or so years ago. Time goes too fast and sometimes and too slow at others!

Sketchy 29-09-2017 05:27 PM

Oh I will tell her good. I can be rather dramatic when I choose to be.

I’m just going to write for a while in the coffee shop. Then go to the shop and go home. Waiting for the rain to stop.

Is everyone else enjoying their day?

Buttons. 29-09-2017 05:28 PM

I can imagine Lorraine-it's that creative temperament :P

Deborrah 29-09-2017 05:28 PM

My copies of the Call of the Wild are old.
I hope you feel better soon Lorraine.
I still feel weak and have a bit of a temperature, and sooo hungry. Going to make some food at last.

Cacoethes 29-09-2017 05:30 PM

I often think 2009 was only a couple of years ago!

I was watching CBBC earlier and there was an advert for a new saturday live show.
And it began saying stuff like 'if you ask your parents and grandparents, they'll be able to tell you all about shows like live and kicking and SMTV live which ended in the noughties'
And I'm just like are you frickin kidding me?!?!?!
But at least they brought up that there would be lots of gunge like in the old days.
I was just saying the other day how kids shows dont have enough gunge.
But I feel so old!!

Sketchy 29-09-2017 05:37 PM

Hope you feel better soon Sibe. And hope you get something yummy to eat.

Gunge used to be such a big thing on tv shows. What happened to the gunge?

Cacoethes 29-09-2017 05:39 PM

I know!
Everyone loved the gunge!
I don't know why they got rid of it!

Buttons. 29-09-2017 06:01 PM

Glad I'm not the only one :P

Deborrah 29-09-2017 06:10 PM

What is gunge? Sorry, English isn't my native language.

Buttons. 29-09-2017 06:18 PM

I'll leave the explanation to you Beckie :P

Cacoethes 29-09-2017 06:20 PM

I don't know how to explain it!
I'll try and find a picture!!

Is it OK to ask what your first language is?

Cpt_Stunning 29-09-2017 06:24 PM

good pic, it would be difficult to explain it in words.

Cacoethes 29-09-2017 06:51 PM

It is hard to explain!

Im starting on my college work but I really can't be bothered!

not_so_insig 29-09-2017 07:08 PM

Evening all.

Sketchy 29-09-2017 07:15 PM

Evening Dawn.

Once you get into it it will be fine Beckie. It’s the getting started that’s the hard part.

I’m just home now. I forgot to buy stuff for my throat. Feeling sick too now. Poor me! *wails for sympathy because is overly dramatic *

Buttons. 29-09-2017 07:18 PM

*hugs Lorraine*

just think of the aardvarks Beckie, think of their poor eyes!

Sketchy 29-09-2017 07:19 PM

Thanks Katy.

Cacoethes 29-09-2017 07:27 PM

Oh no Lorraine!
I hope you feel better soon.
Its horrible feeling ill.

I know I must think of the aardvarks!!

Sketchy 29-09-2017 07:36 PM

Thanks Beckie.

What’s everyone doing this evening? I’m having a lazy evening.

Buttons. 29-09-2017 07:42 PM

Watching honey I shrunk the kids and half listening to my dog having a psychological melt down because she can't get at the dog barking next door.

Cpt_Stunning 29-09-2017 07:45 PM

not much really, got a microwave ready meal to eat - or TV dinners Americans call them - watch some 80's music on YouTube.

Cpt_Stunning 29-09-2017 07:46 PM

I still remember watching 'Honey I shrunk the kids' at the cinema.

Cacoethes 29-09-2017 07:46 PM

Trying to do college stuff.
But I have lost all my notes on note taking which is awkward.
And I need those notes.
So I'm gonna have to skip that bit.
Gah!

Sketchy 29-09-2017 07:49 PM

I haven’t seen that in years Katy.

What kind of ready meal Cpt?

Hope you find the notes Beckie.

Buttons. 29-09-2017 07:50 PM

Neither had I, the clothes are more trippy than the film :P

Sketchy 29-09-2017 07:52 PM

I liked it when I was a kid. I loved the bit where they go through the garden and find giant bugs and cookies.

Polish. I also speak Russian and Czech at the same fluency as Polish. :)

Lorraine, maybe have some herbal tea with honey. It's good for a sore throat and tastes delicious!

Cpt_Stunning 29-09-2017 08:02 PM

I've got 3 ready meals in the fridge, probably have the lasagne one.

I can speak some Russian & Polish, I went to St.Petersburg in 2000 & Krakow in 2005.

Cpt_Stunning 29-09-2017 08:07 PM

I can't speak another language fluently, I speak & understand Spanish very well, but not fluent.

That's awesome! :) I have been speaking English for 11 years. I also fluently speak Spanish. I have been learning Mandarin Chinese since 2013 and can have a basic conversation, and recently started learning the love of my life - Dutch :) Living in Ireland I also know Irish.

Sketchy 29-09-2017 08:09 PM

Thanks Sibe. That’s a good idea.

Cacoethes 29-09-2017 08:11 PM

That's amazing sibe!
I wish I could speak another language!

I can't find my notes anywhere.
I'll just ask someone else if I can borrow theirs!

Cpt_Stunning 29-09-2017 08:12 PM

When I was in Krakow, there were 2 women in the hostel speaking in a language I didn't understand, I asked them, what language are you speaking in, they said Irish.

Sketchy 29-09-2017 08:13 PM

That’s a shame. I’m sure someone will share their notes.

Cpt_Stunning 29-09-2017 08:16 PM

I did enjoy visiting St. Petersburg & Krakow, but not really interested in going anywhere soon, maybe France in 2-3 years time.

Sketchy 29-09-2017 08:19 PM

I’ve only been to the north of France. Lovely. I was staying in Jersey and took the boat for a day trip to France.

Cacoethes 29-09-2017 08:22 PM

I've neen abroad a lot but just dont have the money now. It's a shame because I love to explore!!

Im done with collete shiz tonight.

Cpt_Stunning 29-09-2017 08:23 PM

I took the plane from Plymouth Airport to Jersey many years ago, but Plymouth Airport closed 6 years ago, probably won't open again, even though people have campaigned.

Sketchy 29-09-2017 08:24 PM

That must have been a short flight. We took the plane from Glasgow to jersey. It was a long time ago, about 16 years ago.

Cpt_Stunning 29-09-2017 08:25 PM

It's a prime site for houses to be built, it's still there, the terminal, runway, just lies empty.

Sketchy 29-09-2017 08:25 PM

That’s a shame.

Cpt_Stunning 29-09-2017 08:26 PM

very short flight, very small plane, I looked down & could see my house.

Cpt_Stunning 29-09-2017 08:29 PM

It is annoying, a lot of people can't accept that Plymouth Airport will never re-open, making legal cases for developers not to buy the land, I go past there on the bus to work.

Cacoethes 29-09-2017 08:47 PM

I am so tired!

Think Im gonna have an early night.

Night night all and sleep well!

Sketchy 29-09-2017 08:54 PM

Night night Beckie. Sleep well.
