And 'solve' maths problems ridiculously inaccurately!

And refer to her chinchilla as a hamster.
Because when crisis team guy did that with the guinea pigs, i was annoyed XD

nonperson 11-05-2023 09:16 PM

I'm too lazy to go back on the thread but there was definitely something else recently foodwise that I felt Jenna and I would fall out on...

I am not sure I could handle that. I know a lot of maths from engineering. Maths problems are the only problems I know how to solve :crying:

We could talk about how graphs aren't important though and statistics is the worst part of Maths though :p

nonperson 11-05-2023 09:17 PM

Was it hash browns?

long road 11-05-2023 09:18 PM

A chinchilla bit my dad at a railway station in the sixties. Fun fact right there.

She declared she didn't like Hash browns but also admitted never having tried them. She just thought she wouldn't like them because onions.

I had Hasbrowns at 1am today. Because I was up binge watching a show and got hungry. Was sooo good. But then I got indegestion

Cacoethes 11-05-2023 09:22 PM

Ah ok. Won't torture you with my horrific maths then!

I do remember something about hash browns!

I have many questions about that statement jen....
Why was a chinchilla at a train station??

Indigestion sucks!

nonperson 11-05-2023 09:22 PM

1am hash browns are worth the indigestion!!

They don't taste onioney to me.

nonperson 11-05-2023 09:23 PM

Also yes, why WAS a chinchilla at a railway station?

long road 11-05-2023 09:25 PM

So in the sixties they still shipped animals around the country on trains. And the chinchilla was in a cage on the station platform waiting to be loaded onto the train. My Dad maintains it was a savage chinchilla but I told him it was his fault for putting his finger in the cage. To be fair to him he was 6 but still.

nonperson 11-05-2023 09:26 PM

Oh that's so cute and so hilarious at the same time.

I thought that but then I didn't sleep until 5:30am because of the indigestion. I am like a gremlin I should not be fed after midnight.

My Hashbrowns in the freezer have onion powder but it's the last ingredient.

It is a fun family story. And I make fun of Dad for it somewhat XD

nonperson 11-05-2023 09:31 PM

The only hash browns I eat are frozen ones so they're probably the same. So overprocessed. So yummy.

That is absolutely a story to be made fun of! And he surely wouldn't tell it if he didn;t expect to be mocked.

Cacoethes 11-05-2023 09:33 PM

It makes more sense that he was 6.
It's probably because I'm tired, but i imagined him as a fully grown adult in the 60's, which would probably make him about 200 by now XD

nonperson 11-05-2023 09:36 PM

Saying that, I had an adult gardener freaking out over seeing a snake for the first time the other day!

Cacoethes 11-05-2023 09:42 PM

That's weird, considering i don't think we have any dangerous snakes here!
Wait, we have adders right?
I've seen grass snakes plenty of times

Pi.R^2 11-05-2023 09:42 PM

oh poor baby chinchilla <3 <3 It must have been so scared just being somewhere so crowded let alone having fingers poked in its cage :(

long road 11-05-2023 09:42 PM

Yeah if my Dad was on his 60's in the sixties I'd have been born before the second world war! So I'd be like 90!!

I think he likes the mocking. Mocking is a very British form of affection XD

I am fine with almost all animals but I am afraid of snakes. I have worked on it and no longer freak out at rubber snakes or snakes on TV. And I have stroked a tame snake but I am not and never will be a snake fan.

Pi.R^2 11-05-2023 09:43 PM

I've never seen a snake in the wild in England tbf. Saw a massive scary one in Zambia though!

Sorry to emotionally scar you with my family story. Jenna. If it makes you feel better it was a very long time ago, Chinchillas are treated much better these days.

nonperson 11-05-2023 09:45 PM

Mocking IS a British form of affection!

I have seen many snakes and even "fought" one until it released the toad that it was trying to eat.

I bet the Zambian snakes are much more scary than the ones we get here.

long road 11-05-2023 09:47 PM

Zambian snakes sound super scary and with a high likely hood of deadlyness if they bit you

they effing aren't. I've had to ban K from one of the pet shops we go near sometimes as I genuinely don't think they'd cope seeing the conditions they've got a chinchilla in :((((

Pi.R^2 11-05-2023 09:48 PM

Anyway, sorry for moping, I shall get back to my work!

That's not right.

Free the chinchillas!

Cacoethes 11-05-2023 09:57 PM

When my family went on a safari in sri lanka, a snake was eating an entire deer, just at the side of the road. The picture was insane!

I love snakes.
Though it's always on the guinea pig pages to NOT rehome guinea pigs for free, because they end up as snake food. Which makes me very sad. I know snakes have to eat, but still!

I'm off to bed now guys! Night!

Oh my days wow!! I have fed a tiny buffeted mouse to T's snek before and even that is impressive to watch!

Goodnight Beckie and anyone else going to sleep. Also goodnight to myself as I'm going to bed after I wash up.

nonperson 11-05-2023 10:18 PM

Feeding a mouse to a snake? =/

Goodnight!

Morning!
Even though we've already spoken this morning XD

one_step_closer 12-05-2023 08:57 AM

Morning, oh what joys will this thread bring today!

Plans for today? I know Beckie is going to a special vet because she is special.

one_step_closer 12-05-2023 09:37 AM

The gas people are here just after I've done a poo! They go in the bathroom too. I hope they can't smell it! Lol! Funny but embarrassing.

tamobhuuta 12-05-2023 09:59 AM

Smelly poo!

My book has arrived at the library, I now have a week to collect it.

tamobhuuta 12-05-2023 10:46 AM

My other book has arrived in the post.

Cacoethes 12-05-2023 11:02 AM

I am now on my way home! Managed to get back to B 10 mins before my bus home!
The boys are buried in the hay. I'm glad i topped it up with more than usual.
Been a stressful morning for all involved. But everything worked out well!

I'm sure they will have seen worse lindsay! They must go into all sorts of houses!

That's good tamo.

one_step_closer 12-05-2023 11:04 AM

After they had gone I couldn't smell anything except one of the guys deodorant/aftershave, he had completely doused himself with it. Boiler etc was fine anyway.

Two books! What book did you get in the post? When will you be able to collect the library book?

one_step_closer 12-05-2023 11:05 AM

Ninja Beckie. I hope you can all relax when you get home. How long is the journey?

tamobhuuta 12-05-2023 11:15 AM

The book in the post was by Godfrey Kesari, I'm hoping to go to the library tomorrow. Today is a quiet day.

I'm glad the boiler was ok. Do you have anything else on today?

Well done on a busy morning Cacoethes.

one_step_closer 12-05-2023 11:17 AM

Will you start reading the book you have or wait until you get the library book and read that one so you can read it and get it back to them? What are you going to do with your quiet day?

I've been to the chemist, washed my hair, and hoovered. If I can I'll reply to a pen pal letter later on.

long road 12-05-2023 11:53 AM

Hello le thread!

I have woken up stiff and achy all over. Currently trying to summon the energy for a shower on the hope that warm water will relax my muscles. But for now propped up in bed watching you tube.

Bless the guinea pigs, glad all three of you are home safe now Beckie.

Yay Books Tamo!

Have you got time to relax now Lindsay? You deserve to chill after dealing with boiler men

one_step_closer 12-05-2023 11:58 AM

Hi, Jen. What are you watching on YouTube? I hope you manage your shower and it helps.

I've got too much time on my hands now. It's hard to occupy myself. Is there anything you'd like to do today?

Cacoethes 12-05-2023 12:15 PM

It only takes about 40 mins on the quick bus.
The boys are a bit out of sorts. Merry has gone back to hiding but pippin is happily munching some hay. He has always been more chilled though. Plus he didn't get seen at the vet, he just hid in the hay the whole time XD

I hope the shower helps jen!

I'm finding it hard to occupy myself atm too lindsay!

tamobhuuta 12-05-2023 12:22 PM

I will read the library book first, so I can get it back to them.

A friend randomly came round. Luckily he didn't stay long.

Well done osc. Are there any fun things to do this afternoon?

Sorry you're not feeling great LR. I hope if you manage a shower it helps.

I hope merry feels better soon Cacoethes.

Cacoethes 12-05-2023 12:25 PM

Hate it when people randomly come round!

Thank you. He's still a bit shaken up, but he'll be ok.

long road 12-05-2023 12:29 PM

I was watching some people travel to Egypt. But I am so achy and I am tired so I am lyin down and listening to a history podcast might have a nap.
