Cacoethes 27-11-2021 11:18 AM

Omg! Awful!

It's trying to rain now

Cacoethes 27-11-2021 11:19 AM

Ok it's really raining now!

nonperson 27-11-2021 11:28 AM

Are you out in it soon??

tamobhuuta 27-11-2021 11:28 AM

Hi everyone :) just a little drizzle here. I'm a bit disappointed, the TV promised me snow.

nonperson 27-11-2021 11:43 AM

Aw, there's still time for snow to happen some time this winter!

Any plans today, tamo?

Elmer 27-11-2021 11:47 AM

Thanks for the encouragement Beckie and NP :) I will battle through and it’s got to be better than the time my train hit a herd of cows. Good luck in the rain!

I’m very excited for proper snow, but sad I don’t live in the countryside where I can sledge any more.

Hi Tamo, hope you get your snowy wish soon.

tamobhuuta 27-11-2021 12:09 PM

I'm meeting friends for a drink this afternoon. I'm a bit nervous because I don't often do that.

nonperson 27-11-2021 12:11 PM

Cows o.O I'm not at all picturing the flying cow scene from the Wizard of Oz... >.>

Sometimes you've just got to go with the flow when there are disruptions.

Elmer 27-11-2021 12:11 PM

That’s brilliant! Are they supportive friends? Just do what you can, there’s no shame in needing to leave early if that’s what you need.

nonperson 27-11-2021 12:12 PM

Ninja, tamo.

Nervousness is understandable. Have you been to the place before? You'll be with friends though so take strength from their company if you can.

nonperson 27-11-2021 12:12 PM

Why do I type so slowly... everyone's ninja-ing me!

Yep. It was quite a time. Those poor cows.

Yeah, you do. My main worry is that I will get to London after the last train home and have to sleep in St Pancras :hehe:

tamobhuuta 27-11-2021 12:13 PM

Thanks, they're very supportive, we actually met here!

Elmer 27-11-2021 12:13 PM

Oh God, this is reminiscent of the old days of RYL.

Elmer 27-11-2021 12:14 PM

That’s great tamo :)

Do you remember our London meet!

Elmer 27-11-2021 12:40 PM

Yep! And when we first met in Birmingham :)

Cacoethes 27-11-2021 12:54 PM

I miss the meets!

Elmer 27-11-2021 01:03 PM

We just need a teeny tiny southern-ish meet

Cacoethes 27-11-2021 01:07 PM

Yes we do!

nonperson 27-11-2021 01:36 PM

Has everyone met everyone irl? o.o

Elmer 27-11-2021 01:39 PM

I’ve met a fair few RYLers, mostly a verrry long time ago

Elmer 27-11-2021 01:40 PM

Before meets died a death

not_so_insig 27-11-2021 01:47 PM

I went on one meet but I think all the rylers that I have met have left now. Was a bit awkward where I was living at the time with only 1 bus a day.

nonperson 27-11-2021 01:52 PM

Better for the buses to be awkward than the people.

one_step_closer 27-11-2021 01:57 PM

I met some RYLers in Edinburgh once but that was the only time I went.

This thread has been very zoomy so I can't reply to everything that's been going on!

We had very strong winds last night and some grey concrete type thing is on the ground but I don't know where it's come from. I can't see any change on my house but I'm not an expert. I should ask my neighbour if I catch her outside because she knows everything. I don't want to get in touch with the council if it's not something important.

nonperson 27-11-2021 02:02 PM

We've only been talking about the weather, Lindsay =P

Could it have blown in from somewhere else?

not_so_insig 27-11-2021 02:17 PM

All this wind reminds me of the scene from Mary Poppins. I say when it's windy that I might do a Mary Poppins act when out and about.

not_so_insig 27-11-2021 02:24 PM

Someone in my local Facebook group has lost their greenhouse. They said that Dorothy took it.

tamobhuuta 27-11-2021 02:36 PM

Lol.

I just had lunch. It involved Skips. Nom.

one_step_closer 27-11-2021 02:44 PM

I have no idea if it's my concrete or if it belongs to someone else.

Haha, Dawn! But that's not great losing a greenhouse.

I love Skips Tamo! Might need to get some at some point. I had a tuna mayo sandwich which I bought from a general shop and there was a very thin tuna filling so I didn't enjoy it much.

not_so_insig 27-11-2021 03:14 PM

Oh dear that's not good Lindsay. I had a bacon and sausage sandwich yesterday. There wasn't much bacon. My male cat has the bacon so he was disappoint.

nonperson 27-11-2021 03:36 PM

Mmmmm Skips.

one_step_closer 27-11-2021 04:56 PM

Did skips ever change their flavour for a while? Or was that Quavers? I remember Quavers doing salt and vinegar and prawn cocktail.

nonperson 27-11-2021 05:04 PM

Hm, prawn cocktail Quavers is ringing a bell. Can't remember if I ever tried them.

Elmer 27-11-2021 06:09 PM

Prawn cocktail and salt and vinegar quavers are very much a thing, they were re-released recently and are vegan!

nonperson 27-11-2021 06:21 PM

But are they tasty?

shadow-light 27-11-2021 06:57 PM

when I come in here I often only read the last post, then sometimes work back

got to admit "but are they tasty" feels liek an odd comment to join on

shadow-light 27-11-2021 06:59 PM

oh I remember meets! I've been to 3, though one of them doesn't fully count and only 2 of us turned up and we didn't actually see each other  we both stood outside newcastle train station for like half an hour then both went home

:-p

But are they?!

shadow-light 27-11-2021 07:18 PM

no idea... I can't stand the texture of quavers or skips

nonperson 27-11-2021 07:25 PM

Understandable. I think they're an acquired texture.

tamobhuuta 27-11-2021 08:02 PM

I love how Skips fizz and melt.

Cacoethes 27-11-2021 08:59 PM

Helloooo

not_so_insig 27-11-2021 09:09 PM
