Future fancy fish shopping will have to occur Beckie!
I have a Lego flower bouquet. My partner bought them for me for our anniversary one year as real flowers make me sneeze. NP aren't you a gardener??? Surely if anyone can keep a houseplants live it would be you? Good luck with your email writing NP. I watched done episode of SG-1 and have just come to bed to have a rest / listen to music as think I have over down it a bit/ definitely am not well yet. |
He's settling in well thanks!
He seems happy. He's very active and slithering about. Very relaxing to watch actually! |
Slithering sounds exciting!
I am a gardener... but I kill lots of house plants =( |
I don't know what cheese curd is but the words sound off-putting!
I'm glad you managed a shower, Jen. I hope you can settle and get some good rest. I thought you were quite good with your orchids, NP? Good luck with the emails. I found a Jammie dodger doughnut with a Jammie dodger biscuit on top. I don't generally like jam in cakes but I like Jammie dodgers so got one for my 7.30pm snack. |
It is exciting np!
The word does indeed sound off putting, but it is delicious! That sounds tasty lindsay! I hope you enjoy it! |
Morning everyone
|
Morning!
How are you? I had a rough night with my asthma (Including having to call ambulance and spending a few hours in majors in A&E( and only got 2 hours sleep in last 24 hours. So feeling rubbish. Going to ring GP surgery when phones open at 8:30am |
I'm ok thanks
Ugh! Poor you! Try to rest today as much as possible |
Glad you are doing ok. Any plans for today?
Ambulance gave me a steroid injection on top of steroids tablets that I am already taking, the next dose of which is due at 9am. Which did help my breathing but made me even more wired! Will try and rest. Spent most of night lying propped up in bed listening to music so at least sort of restful. |
Just my morning things and work
I'm glad you managed some rest. I know zoomies are hard to resist. But you must! |
Hope work is the right balance between busy enough the shift goes quick but not so busy you are really nboff your feet. What time does your shift start?
I will do my absolute best to resist. |
Thank you!
It's a Monday, which means a lot of coaches of old people wanting to pay for a £1.60 newspaper with £20 notes. And then it'll be dead until the truck drivers arrive to ask to pay for parking (we don't deal with parking but basically everywhere else, it's whsmith that do it) and then being annoyed that we don't do the meal vouchers (again, basically everywhere else does, we don't for some reason) Most of them accept this, but some give me grief for it. So that's most likely how my day is going to go XD I start at 1pm. So got plenty of time to get everything done. |
That sounds rather infuriating. But at least you know to expect it I suppose!
Just called GP surgery and someone from duty team is going o give me a call back this morning. Hoping it will be my favourite nurse practitioner who calls and not someone else. Got up and had breakfast and taken morning meds. Just sinus rinse and nasal spray to do. Trying hard not to just get sucked into a million tiny tasks and start zooming. |
It is. But yes, I pretty much know what the day will hold!
Fingers crossed! Well done for doing those things! |
Have secured a face appointment at 11am with my favourite nurse practitioner (who doesn't know she is my favourite XD). Didn't even have to do a phone call they just looked at info I gave the receptionist and texted me the appointment!
Sinus rinse done just trying to chill with music for a bit before getting ready for appointment |
Excellent!
|
Have entered waiting mode a while half an hour before I need to leave. So hard to sit still!!
How are you getting on with your morning things? |
I did my morning things and while ago
I too, am in waiting mode! An hour 15 mins before I have to leave. |
Back from seeing the nurse. Am going to taper off steroids rather than just stopping them. Got a top up if reliever meds. Hopefully can stay home but have been given very clear instructions of when to call 999 again.
Just eaten lunch. Going to attempt to nap now. Am very very tired and zoom has worn off a bit |
I'm glad you got to speak to your favourite nurse, Jen. It always helps when you get on well with someone and know they understand you. Fingers crossed you can stay at home.
Hope you're getting on ok, Beckie. I have had a really awful night and day so far. Will probably post in R/V so won't clog up here with my complaining. |
She definitely understands me and my lungs! Plus there is a rapport there that stops me getting super anxious and shuttling down / rushing myself like I sometimes do in medical appointments. Fingers crossed indeed. It dfeels a bit like I am walking a tightrope where if I stay on I stay home but I can easily 'fall off' and end up back in hospital.
Read your RV and saw how hard things have been. Sending hugs, sorry not got energy for much other support but do post in your thread in serious if you need to. I managed to nap for an hour or so. Still shattered. |
It has been an eventful day.
Not in a good way XD |
Oh no! Customers being Dicks?
|
Oh no, Beckie. Are you going home soon?
I hope you can get some good rest tonight, Jen. |
Not sure if will manage much rest at the moment, just hoping I can stay home. Because home is so much calmer even if I can't sleep (usually get insomnia to some degree once I have been on steroids this long). On nebuliser number 3 of the day.
How is everyone else? |
Evening all. Sorry I haven't been around much today but I had tesco (who were late) and I had trouble getting up. Put everything away now bar a few things. Had frozen stuff which was a priority to put away. Thankfully it's freezing today so didn't get defrosted. Also been watching TV.
|
Well I hope you manage to stay home then, Jen. You don't need the chaos of hospital on top of everything else.
Did you get anything nice from Tesco, Dawn? |
I got some bubblegum from tesco Lindsay. I tried blowing bubbles but couldn't :-( . Plus ice cream.
|
Hospital is not a vibe for sure. Am managing ok now although my dysfunctional breathing has been playing up. Done a lot of breathing exercises.
I can never get bubblegum to make bubble Dawn. |
B got threatened, badly. Some guys came in and stolen £400 worth of stuff and shouted and swore at J while surrounding her and I fell off a footstool and twisted my ankle XD
Reported the threat and the theft to the police and put my fall in the incident book. What a day! |
Morning everyone
|
Morning, Beckie. Are you ok? That sounds like such a horrific thing to go through at work.
|
Morning lindsay
Yeah, it wasn't great. But we move. How are you? |
Remember we're here if it would help to talk through things.
I'm still struggling but trying to focus on the ok things I'm doing today which are going for lunch with my friend and then going to the colouring group. Are you all sorted where you're working today? |
Morning Everyone!
Hope today is much better than y sterday Beckie. Hope you can enjoy lunch and colouring group Lindsay. What I assume is the post you sent me arrived yesterday, planning to open it later today as a post therapy treat, didn't have energy yesterday. Managed to actually sleep last night! Around 8 hours! (Although partner says I was spasming and having seizures in my sleep for first hour or two). |
Afternoon all. I have cpn coming later and my parents too. I received an confusing email from PayPal and a confusing letter from the council.
|
Afternoon Dawn.
Hope your CPN visit and parents visit both have gone / go ok. Confusing emails are tricky make sure you don't click on any links in case it's a scam. As for council letter is there someone who can help you make sense of it? I have just had therapy which went pretty well. Took a lot out of me though, rather tired and lungs are a bit grumpy after talking lots. Just taking it easy now watching a you tube video if a man going camping / camp cooking and drinking a coffee. |
Thanks lindsay :)
Just an occupational hazard i think! Sometimes people just suck Today i have been at Cambridge rail smiths. They're really in the **** for staff. The station was busy, but we were not! Bit of a change of pace. Driving in the city centre was not the one. Bloody cyclists XD I do hope you enjoyed your lunch and colouring group lindsay. You deserve good things! Yay for sleep jen! |
As my partner says Beckie 'People be whack, yo'
Glad work itself was fairly chill even though city centre driving was decidedly not. How was parking? Hopefully the trend of good sleep continues for me and I get more tonight! |
They do indeed, be whack!
Parking was ok. I got there at like 6am so still plenty of spaces! I think most people do the park and ride because it's a £14.50 flat rate!!! Even if youre there for like 2 hours! Luckily I can claim it back. But still. Fingers crossed! And everything else crossed! |
At £14 a day I can understand why people would chose the park and ride even it means their commute ends up being longer! Good you can claim it back. How long do expenses take to come through do you know?
|
I'm not sure. A while, apparently :eyeroll:
|
Really sorry to hear what happened to you Cacoethes. Take care of yourself.
And general love to those in need today. |
Oh no. A while is an ominous choice of words when there is a decent chunk of money on the end of it. Hopefully sooner rather than later!
Nice to see you about Tamo. We are here if you need us. Love gratefully accepted. |
Thanks tamo
Much love to you also! Yep. Doing a shift there on Saturday too. So thats nearly £30 in total! Not a small amount! |
£30 eek! That's 2 and a bit hours wages!
I am just deciding what to order for dinner. Didn't get shopping order sorted Sunday or yesterday cos of being ill and we are out of dinner foods. Might go for a burger and chips. |
I'm glad therapy went well, Jen. You definitely should get a yummy burger and chips.
Did you get on ok with your CPN, Dawn? You should have got yourself a helicopter instead of a car, Beckie. Then you could just land on top of anything! Hope you're doing ok, Tamo. I had a nice lunch and the colouring group was good too. There's a very real chance that they might lose their funding though. |
Burger and chips has been ordered should be her in next 20- 40 minutes. Am looking forward to it.
Glad you had a good time at lunch and colouring group Lindsay. Sorry to hear your group might lose funding, I know how helpful it's been for you. |
It is jen!
I imagine a helicopter may cost slightly more to run though XD Burger and chips sounds great! I hope you enjoy it! L is feeling unwell. So I'm cooking tonight. I do not enjoy cooking. Baking yes, cooking no! I'm glad you had a nice time lindsay. That sucks about the funding. Hopefully they don't. It would be such a shame :( |
What do you have in your burger, Jen? Cheese and onions are a must.
I'm going to guess you're cooking pasta, Beckie??? I don't think funders realise how much people rely on things like the groups and cafe. They stopped funding the other part of the organisation that provided crisis support and practical support. They actually told the crisis team to work differently and then people stopped using it because it wasn't helpful any more so then the funders pointed out that not many people were using it so stopped funding it. |
