Trying to get back into reading finding it difficult being a student, I read a lot but anything that’s pleasurable just doesn’t rest in my head.

I gave this 4 stars (really liked it). It was quite hard to read though because the story was going backwards.

Going back to reading Ghosts Of Christmas Past.

Do you think that's because the story was told backwards? I felt like there was no conclusion mostly because of that.

one_step_closer 22-12-2018 05:45 PM

Also reading How To Live Like Your Cat - Stephane Garnier.

Hmm, I don't know. Maybe. There was definitely a feeling of lack of conclusion. Which of hers is your favourite book?

Yeah somehow don't think I'm going to read the Cat book :P Have begun Peggy and me by Miranda Hart about her and her dog-more my cuppa tea.

one_step_closer 23-12-2018 03:12 PM

I have no idea which of hers is my favourite, I don't think I've read any that I haven't liked although I haven't read the ones she wrote with her daughter. Do you have a favourite?

Buttons. 23-12-2018 03:22 PM

I don't think I've read any of hers that I didn't like although like you I haven't read the ones she wrote with her daughter. I'd say Second Glance or Nineteen Minutes would be high up on my list.

one_step_closer 23-12-2018 03:31 PM

Nineteen Minutes was very hard hitting.

Buttons. 23-12-2018 03:35 PM

Very much so. The way she managed to humanise all characters concerned was interesting.

Itís what the film Blade Runner was based on. Sci-fi, near-apocalypse, questioning what is real or not real... It is interesting.

I wanted to give this 2 stars (it was ok) since it wasn't what I expected, it was about the woman's career rather than the people on death row, but I gave it 3 stars (liked it) and reviewed it as 2.5 stars.
