one_step_closer 06-08-2022 04:47 PM

Naughty Kat!

I still haven't done anything about getting my forget me not seeds planted.

Cacoethes 06-08-2022 04:51 PM

Have you got all the stuff to plant them?

one_step_closer 06-08-2022 04:58 PM

Yeah, if I'm planting them in a pot just don't know if they should be outside or inside. I've done research but taken nothing in. Just need to focus and get it done some time.

Cacoethes 06-08-2022 05:07 PM

I think you need NP's plant expertise!

We have to wear gloves when we sow them at work.

oooh, I know one, pick me pick me pick me!! (Is it a surprise to anyone that I was that kid at school?? Rhubarb is an example right??

Lol, I'm off to stalk to see what that infraction was now :P

I just did some gardening myself so feel that is quite relevant to the current discussion.

Cacoethes 06-08-2022 05:11 PM

It was yeeeaaarrss ago now jenna!
I can't even remember what it was for!

I hate gardening.
I think i was forced to do it too much in various hospital admissions
Damn OTs

nonperson 06-08-2022 05:22 PM

I hate gardening too.

And I've just learned something new about rhubarb.

Gold star for Jenna.

nonperson 06-08-2022 05:23 PM

Oh and Lindsay, you could probably put your seeds inside or outside. Inside might be better on a sunnyish windowsill.

Cacoethes 06-08-2022 05:27 PM

I was thinking about getting some houseplants.
I like having flowers on my windowsill but obviously they die.
Trouble is, i can barely keep myself alive, let alone a houseplant! Lol

Zurg 06-08-2022 06:28 PM

Surprisingly Beckie, a plant is often much less complicated to keep alive than a person. Just sayin'. Also as a bonus info, a lot of plants these days come with an instruction as to how to best care for them :-)

And i wasn't talking about anything illegal up there . I was more thinking in the lines of tobacco. Which has not yet been known for causing people to become seriously mental ;-)
(Unless of course you try to stop them from lighting up their fags!!!)

Cacoethes 06-08-2022 06:32 PM

I'll have to have a look around for a suitable plant!

Of course you weren't zurg ;p
But yes, when i got put in hospital i used to go mental when they wouldn't let me out for a cigarette!
But tbf, back when i smoked (around 5½ years ago) you could still smoke in the gardens of psych wards rather than having to have leave to go off site to smoke.

The Worst Witch 06-08-2022 06:32 PM

I don’t mind gardening, but I moved to a flat where all the gardening etc is done by a factor and I just pay a fee for them to do it. Much easier, although factor fees are expensive!

Cacoethes 06-08-2022 06:35 PM

I can imagine!
My neighbour cuts my grass for free so can't complain!

Zurg 06-08-2022 07:11 PM

In Denmark you're still allowed to smoke in hospital. They tried to ban it, hell broke loose and they had to backtrack on that decision. Probably a wise decision.

An orchid is a pretty easy going plant Beckie.

I had a garden once. I loved being able to go outside. But i hated keeping the garden neat!!!! I had a tree in my garden. I lived there for almost 3 years and not until the very end did i discover what kind of tree when it grew one single damn fine looking pear :D

Cacoethes 06-08-2022 07:17 PM

Yeah i remember when it was first banned.
It was not good at all!
I think there's a time and a place to get people to quit smoking, a psych ward when people are unwell is not a good time or place!

Orchids are pretty!

I'm not a fan of fruit trees!
We had an orchard (apples and plums) where the family used to live and all the fruit would fall and if you didn't keep on top of it, it was wasp central!!

The fact that I'm alive, amongst the (what I imagine to be) literal forests worth of plants I have tried to raise, and simply murdered, makes me doubt this assertion...

Cacoethes 06-08-2022 08:02 PM

I guess I'll never know until i try!

Elmer 06-08-2022 08:05 PM

Succulents.

Cacoethes 06-08-2022 08:12 PM

I have heard succulents are pretty hardy!

The lump on my gum has reappeared.
I am rather annoyed about it

Zurg 06-08-2022 08:44 PM

Meat eating plant!!! Feed it all the annoying people in your life and you're both absolutely sorted!!!

Also Elmer, attempting to keep anything alive sometimes requires a certain practise amount. A reasonable waste is expected!!! No, i am not evil!!! Just currently armed with coffee and unsupervised….!!

Cacoethes 06-08-2022 08:49 PM

Hell no!
I've seen little shop of horrors!

Elmer 06-08-2022 09:19 PM

FEED ME SEYMOUR

Pi.R^2 06-08-2022 09:21 PM

DON'T FEED THE PLANTS!

Cacoethes 06-08-2022 09:23 PM

We watched it last Christmas
My sister (17 at the time) was snuggled next to my mum and hiding behind her saying 'nooo i don't like it!' For the majority of the movie

Elmer 06-08-2022 09:24 PM

Now I have 'Suddenly Seymour' stuck in my head :plain:

EDIT: My sister did Little Shop of Horrors as a play in primary school

nonperson 06-08-2022 09:29 PM

I named my first houseplant Audrey after Little Shop of Horrors =D

nonperson 06-08-2022 09:30 PM

Also I disagree with many of Zurg's plant care statements above but cba to correct. >.>

Pi.R^2 06-08-2022 09:30 PM

I have Don't Feed The Plants stuck in my head now :crying:
It's maybe an improvement on the Ronald McDonald song that was stuck in my head earlier?

Cacoethes 06-08-2022 09:34 PM

Seems a little inappropriate for primary school!

I did a summer drama school when i was a kid and we did one of the songs from little shop of horrors (can't remember which one)
I was the main person in that one. Right at the front, in the middle!

Cacoethes 07-08-2022 08:36 AM

Morning everyone

Pi.R^2 07-08-2022 08:46 AM

Morning Beckie! What's on your schedule for today?

Cacoethes 07-08-2022 09:03 AM

Morning!

I have pilates at 10:30 but that's it for today!
May go to asda for some more iced coffee cartons

How about you?

Pi.R^2 07-08-2022 09:11 AM

I have a quiet day as K is out so I'll get to be antisocial and just crack on with my to do list. I'm antisocial anyway, but today I won't feel guilty as no one is here :P
So far I have consumed breakfast and done some maths. Also Finn and I have our fortnightly phone call soon!

Cacoethes 07-08-2022 09:15 AM

Sounds good!

It honestly baffles me that people do maths when they aren't made to.
Yuck!
Each to their own i guess!

Enjoy your phone call!

Pi.R^2 07-08-2022 09:45 AM

Haha! Remember me teaching you ratio via the means of staff:patient ratios??

Also the maths I’m doing currently is maths I’ve never done before so it’s sometimes frustrating rather than fun when I don’t understand it :plain:

Cacoethes 07-08-2022 10:09 AM

Oh god! I remember that very well!

I guess it's good to be mentally challenged once in a while!

Zurg 07-08-2022 10:12 AM

Woah Jenna!!! It's not even noon yet and you're already cracking the great mysteries of math!!!!

I Think i'll just have this cup of coffee instead!!! Don't feel very science-y today
;-)

tamobhuuta 07-08-2022 10:21 AM

Morning everyone x

Cacoethes 07-08-2022 11:44 AM

Coffee is a good plan zurg!

Morning tamo

How are you guys?

tamobhuuta 07-08-2022 01:03 PM

How was your pilates? I'm ok, on my way to my prayer group.

Pi.R^2 07-08-2022 01:24 PM

Haha Zurg!! Hope you enjoyed your coffee :)
Hope your prayer group goes well tamo- forgive my ignorance but what do you do at your groups? I used to be part of a little prayer group when I was growing up with some of the other teenagers at my church but I can’t for the life of me remember what we did!!

Hope you have a restful afternoon after your Pilates Beckie :)

Cacoethes 07-08-2022 02:14 PM

It was ok thanks tamo

Enjoy your prayer group!

Thanks Jenna
I got bored so i went to asda at about midday!

one_step_closer 07-08-2022 02:22 PM

Hello people. I got up way later than usual but let's pretend it didn't happen. How is everyones day going?

Cacoethes 07-08-2022 02:34 PM

It's sunday lindsay! Made for lie ins!

I am suddenly very very tired for some reason

one_step_closer 07-08-2022 02:36 PM

Bodies are weird with things like suddenly being tired. What are you getting up to?

one_step_closer 07-08-2022 02:39 PM

I'm really sad that Hocus Pocus 2 is only being shown on Disney +

Cacoethes 07-08-2022 02:42 PM

True!

I went to pilates this morning, then got home, sat for an hour and got bored so went to asda
I am now watching tv and am bored again!
Need to shower at some point but I'll do that later

Do you not have Disney plus?
If not i can give you my login to watch it if you like

one_step_closer 07-08-2022 02:46 PM

You could try and make a list of things you could do when you're bored. Although I've done that before and looked at it when I was bored and didn't want to do anything on the list! Is there nothing good on TV? Have you done any more reading? It's so easy to get bored.

No I don't have Disney+ but I won't take up your generous offer, thank you though. I'm just hoping they'll show it elsewhere at some point. Will you be watching it?

Cacoethes 07-08-2022 02:53 PM

I could have a look around on the various streaming sites. Sure there's something on there that i can watch.
I have tried to read but i get one sentence in and i just can't focus anymore. I basically just reread the same 2 sentences until i eventually give up because i can't concentrate!

I'm sure they will show it somewhere else at some point

one_step_closer 07-08-2022 02:59 PM

Could you try making a list? Maybe then you'd be doing other things and then when you come back to TV you can enjoy it because you have been away from it for a while. Your list could be like make your bedroom more welcoming/tidy a room, play a game if you have any on your phone or elsewhere, go for a quick walk (this really helped me in hospital when I was allowed out, to punctuate my days with short walks).
