Drewbles 31-12-2010 12:09 AM

Late Nights on Air
I cant remember who it's by though and I dnt have it handy at the moment, but it's about these people working at a radio station in the far north of Canada, and the gas pipeline that was put up there an number of years ago. Kinda like a historical fiction, but more like, 60's and 70's.. anyway its reallyy good. =)

EndOfDaze 31-12-2010 10:00 PM

I'm currently reading Tailchaser's Song by Tad Williams. I am actually not sure what to think of it yet.

Just finished Engleby. Took me forever, but I really really enjoyed it. Intense, hard, but good.

And and now reading The Long Song by Andrea Levy. Bit confusing but guessing I'll get into it.

I'm reading House Rules by Jodi Picoult - I really should stop reading her books, because they only make me mad.

makedamnsure 05-01-2011 09:19 PM

Is House Rules any good?
I'm not a big Jodi Picoult fan (I've only read the suicide pact one + my sisters keeper) but this is about a Aspergers boy isn't it? And my brother has aspergers so I was thinking of reading it.

I'm reading Heart of Darkness - Joseph Conrad
Very good, but very old fashioned because its over 100 years old, so you have to concentrate.

Papillon 05-01-2011 10:39 PM

Do they make you mad at the injustice of the world, or do they make you mad because of her writing style? The way she structures her books annoys me. The story ends up dragging and then it's all summed up in a few pages. Her books are very thought provoking, though, but if you read too many of them I think they'd become very tiresome.

I'm reading English Passengers by Matthew Kneale for English wider reading. It's alright, but I can't seem to get into it :\
I started The Other Hand by Chris Cleave yesterday and I really like it so far.
