Is taxi an option?

Cacoethes 27-09-2024 02:52 PM

Not really, too expensive! I'd probably just hang out in st Pancras Starbucks until it died down. But I should be in London before it gets insanely busy. It's only 20 mins on the met line from St Pancras so I can deal with a little busy. Just not crammed in like sardines busy!

one_step_closer 27-09-2024 02:57 PM

Sounds like a complicated trek, Beckie. I couldn't do it!

I've had 3 bottles of Pepsi Max today rather than my usual 2 which means I'm stressed!

tamobhuuta 27-09-2024 02:59 PM

Cacoethes hope your journey isn't too stressful, osc hope the stress passes!

Cacoethes 27-09-2024 03:12 PM

Nah. Just a train, tube and a little walk!
But I'm really good at travelling, so what's easy for me, may not be for others!

Are you stressed about anything in particular lindsay? Hope it eases up!

Thanks tamo!
Been fine so far. In London now, will be at St Pancras in a few mins

Ahimsa 27-09-2024 03:37 PM

Glad you've arrived safe!!

I ended up being late for work, in the palaver of them being 40 minutes late, and me asking to rebook my appointment - the GP then called me through. I booked my next appointment, went into work and they sent out the rota for that week - I am on a 7:30am start so my 8:40am appointment will have to be moved.

Gonna try do that now on my lunch (and have to speak to the same receptionist who told me I had to do it through PATCH's, which doesn't let me).

Cacoethes 27-09-2024 04:27 PM

Thanks!
Just arrived at the hotel. Pretty straightforward journey thankfully!

What a hassle beth!

tamobhuuta 27-09-2024 04:43 PM

I hope your day calms down Ahimsa!

I'm glad you're there ok Cacoethes.

Cacoethes 27-09-2024 05:05 PM

Thanks tamo
I'm hoping I can get an early night
I feel lonely without L

tamobhuuta 27-09-2024 05:38 PM

Awww :(

Cacoethes 27-09-2024 06:07 PM

Yeah. You'd think I'd be used to being lonely after living alone for over 10 Years! But no, I don't do that anymore!

one_step_closer 27-09-2024 06:11 PM

I'm just not great mentally right now, that's all.

Things never seem to go straightforwardly with you, Beth! Hope you managed to sort something.

I hope you can settle ok, Beckie.

Cacoethes 27-09-2024 06:30 PM

Sorry to hear that lindsay :(
You don't deserve for things to be so ****

Thanks! Just had a shower and spilled hibiscrub everywhere XD

one_step_closer 27-09-2024 06:34 PM

Thanks for your kind words, Beckie.

Is that hard to clean up?

Cacoethes 27-09-2024 06:37 PM

I'm usually about if you need a chat!

Nah. It's quite a thin liquid, though it is bright pink!

one_step_closer 27-09-2024 06:37 PM

Does it smell weird?

Cacoethes 27-09-2024 06:40 PM

It definitely has a smell. Not a weird one, per se. More distinctive. It's an antibacterial wash they use in surgery, and also for animals! We had it for the horses if they were injured or had sores. So now I just feel like I smell like an injured horse XD

one_step_closer 27-09-2024 06:44 PM

At least you smell like a clean injured horse and not a smelly horse! And also you don't look like a horse!

Cacoethes 27-09-2024 06:45 PM

Very good point! And thank you! :-D

one_step_closer 27-09-2024 06:46 PM

Is the hotel nice?

Cacoethes 27-09-2024 06:50 PM

It's ok. Just a premier inn so pretty basic. But it'll do for one night!

Ahimsa 27-09-2024 07:42 PM

I had a photoshoot last summer and got super scratched from some wildflowers I wasn't expecting to be spiky! I went into work on my way back for hibiscrub and panicked everyone

Cacoethes 27-09-2024 07:45 PM

Hibiscrub is great stuff tbh!

nonperson 27-09-2024 08:30 PM

I always get sent home from the vets with hibiscrub when the cat has a wound or something!

I can't vouch for the smell but it's always very pink

Cacoethes 27-09-2024 08:31 PM

We used it so much for our horses, dogs, chickens etc. That I didn't even know humans used it too until they asked me to buy it XD

nonperson 27-09-2024 09:45 PM

No I didn't either until you mentioned it!

Cacoethes 27-09-2024 10:19 PM

Apparently widely used in human surgery! Who knew?!

Cacoethes 28-09-2024 04:31 AM

Morning everyone

tamobhuuta 28-09-2024 10:00 AM

Morning Cacoethes . I guess you're having your surgery, or very soon?

Ahimsa 28-09-2024 11:34 AM

How're you Tamo?

tamobhuuta 28-09-2024 12:00 PM

Hi Ahimsa, I'm ok thanks, just had a visit from my dad. How are you?

Ahimsa 28-09-2024 12:02 PM

Oh nice, how was it?

I'm okay, I've some pain in my side so rang 111 who were very unhelpful!

tamobhuuta 28-09-2024 12:28 PM

Sorry they were no help. Did they have any advice?

It was a nice visit thanks. I had a text from big sis, she's going to try to come tomorrow!

Ahimsa 28-09-2024 01:22 PM

I was like “Should I take paracetamol, or would that mask if it got worse?” and “how long do I leave it?” and they were gonna phone back.

Now they're not going to.

Don't really want to go to the walk in centre in the most dangerous part of the city centre (a five minute drive from where the riots were that were on TV, where there are regular stabbings!) with no phone signal for up to 12 hours!

If it gets worse, I'll call them back.

one_step_closer 28-09-2024 01:29 PM

Hi everyone.

Hope everything's going ok, Beckie.

I missed NP AGAIN!

I'm glad you had a nice visit, Tamo and I hope your sister is able to come tomorrow.

Do you have a pharmacy near you, Beth? I usually ask my pharmacist about everything and he has some good advice about what to do and if I need to be checked over. I hope you're alright.

not_so_insig 28-09-2024 01:34 PM

Afternoon all. It's freezing cold here.

tamobhuuta 28-09-2024 01:53 PM

It's cold here too, but nice blue skies. My sister is booked in for tomorrow morning AND she's bringing Costa!

What a pullaver Ahimsa.

How are you osc, what are you up to today?

one_step_closer 28-09-2024 02:04 PM

Cold here too. Is this officially autumn now?

Sounds like something to look forward to, Tamo.

I'm not great. I have done some housework and have a Tesco delivery coming between 4-5pm.

Not one open on weekends, no.

one_step_closer 28-09-2024 02:11 PM

That's not so good, Beth. How are you feeling now?

Ahimsa 28-09-2024 02:21 PM

I'm fine aside from this - I dont feel unwell or anything.

not_so_insig 28-09-2024 02:22 PM

Well done for doing your tasks Lindsay and hope your tesco delivery has yummy things in it.

Cacoethes 28-09-2024 05:01 PM

I'm back! Came out of surgery about an hour ago and all is well! Immediately asked for a coffee XD
They struggled to get a vein and I told them they could knock me out with a brick if they couldn't get a cannula in XD
The anesthetist gave an awkward chuckle. Don't think they're used to people making jokes in theatre!

long road 28-09-2024 06:08 PM

Great news that all went ok Beckie. Bet that was an amazing coffee!

one_step_closer 28-09-2024 06:18 PM

Glad to hear you're doing ok, Beckie.

tamobhuuta 28-09-2024 06:37 PM

I'm glad it went well Cacoethes :)

I'm sad because I've caught up with Casualty and there's no more until Christmas.

Cacoethes 28-09-2024 08:23 PM

Thanks guys :)
Just got home
It was the best coffee!

Oh no tamo! That is sad :(

How's everyone doing this evening?

Ahimsa 28-09-2024 08:49 PM

Wasn't expecting you to be home on the same day Beckie

tamobhuuta 28-09-2024 08:51 PM

I tried to have a phone call with my friend but the signal is rubbish.

Cacoethes 28-09-2024 08:54 PM

Yeah, it's a day surgery place. Probably why I had it so early in the morning. I think I was in surgery for about 6 hours. I imagine if there was any reasons you'd have to stay overnight, you'd be shipped off to a proper hospital.
Other than that, no real reason to stay in. Would just be doing in hospital what I'm doing at home

That's annoying tamo!
Is there WiFi there?
I have to use WiFi calling here because there is literally no signal at all
