All the Romanian food my dentist has either described or brought jn for me to try have been very Erm interesting! The yoghurt pie thing was flat out rank.

Also buna seara my darlings. (one of my two Romanion mini phrases)

I'm jn bed with clean jarmies and sheets :-)

Aubergine 18-10-2018 09:47 PM

What does that mean, Lillie?

Hooray for clean sheets and pyjamas. I've got clean sheets and pyjamas too! And a cat at the end of m bed. :)

You know a little Romanian?

Oh my, that is the best feeling ever! I'm jealous!

chinahorse 18-10-2018 09:52 PM

Oooooo Alec cat is still my fav super jealous.

Buna ziua= literally good day used like hello
Buna seara = literally good night but like hello when it's night time
I can also sometimes remember mulțumesc which is a neither formal nor informal thank you. And da which is yes (mainly cos that's all her grandson can day lol).

FabulousMike 18-10-2018 09:54 PM

Ah very interesting! Thank you.

Ah cool! Thanks Lillie. That is interesting. :)

Alec is so big now!

Alecthecat:

chinahorse 18-10-2018 10:09 PM

He's a proper cat nearly! Instead of looking kitten ish. He has grown so fast

FabulousMike 18-10-2018 10:11 PM

Wjat a cute kitty cat.

Indigo. 18-10-2018 10:43 PM

Mike, you might know me, we've spoken before, ages ago. I'm Lucy :)

Lillie, I have no clue what this yoghurt pie is! Papanași maybe? It's like a doughnut but you have it with some sort of yoghurt/sour cream thing, and often, jam.
And wow well done on your Romanian phrases! I'll add a couple more: no is "nu". Oh, and good night is "noapte bună".

The Romanian food I had was sarmale(cabagge rolls with rice and meat), and mămăligă (cornmeal porridge, like polenta if you know what that is.) These are some of the nicer dishes you can have, would recommend!

I'm about to change in my PJs too! Very excited to finally be in comfy clothes.

Alec the cat is super cute!!! <3

chinahorse 18-10-2018 11:46 PM

It had flake pastry and contained natural yoghurt. And smelt like death! Is nu said like that? You have no idea how log it took me to say ziua properly :-P

Indigo. 19-10-2018 08:47 AM

Oh dear, no clue what that is then, but it doesn't sound appealing :/ The doughnuts I'm on about are rather nice if made properly!

Yeah, "nu" rhymes with "flu". I can imagine "ziua" must be rather difficult to pronounce! I remember trying to teach a friend to say snow in Romanian, which is "zăpadă"(the "ă" sound is like the "u" in "um") and they really struggled!

How is everyone this morning?

Cacoethes 19-10-2018 08:49 AM

Morning guys
I am shattered still

Indigo. 19-10-2018 08:57 AM

Cacoethes 19-10-2018 08:58 AM

It is 4°C

chinahorse 19-10-2018 08:59 AM

Lol I have mastered the strange sounding letters now- CB just had to break it down into small bits. :-P This is in between bitching about staff and patients. We are a very good match!

Can you snooze a bit beckie? Set an alarm so you don't miss your stop?

I can't work out how I am. Have done my huge stack of washing up and taken the rubbish and recycling out ao I suppose thats productive?

Indigo. 19-10-2018 09:54 AM

My phone loves to double post or misspell things or delete stuff I've written :/

Lillie, it sounds like you get on well with them! Well done on doing all that stuff, it is indeed productive!

Beckie, it sucks that you're still shattered. I hipe you can get some rest soon. And blimey! That's cold...

It's warm here, nearly 20°!! Very unusual for this time of year.

chinahorse 19-10-2018 10:07 AM

Silly phone!

Ooo that is nice and warm. It's 9 degrees here.

Indigo. 19-10-2018 10:10 AM

Yeah, I got off the plane, and was momentarily confused, seeing as it was warm and sunny and Wales had been dreadful because of the storm!

chinahorse 19-10-2018 10:18 AM

You flew out in the storm?!

Cacoethes 19-10-2018 10:51 AM

What's everyone up to today?

I'm watching Space Jam on the train

Indigo. 19-10-2018 10:57 AM

I did, on Sunday! I left on Saturday night, on the Megabus for 5 hours too. At least it had died down a bit by then, Friday/Sat were awful.

Haven't seen Space Jam, I hope you enjoy it Beckie. Is it a long train journey?

I'm not up to much, going into town to sort out a few things.

Cacoethes 19-10-2018 11:10 AM

Space Jam is a classic from way back in the 90's!
Haven't seen it since I was a kid

It's about an hour 35 so not too bad.
The first train was 35 mins.

Hope you get everything sorted in town!

Indigo. 19-10-2018 11:44 AM

I haven't seen many films, my friends always tease me about it! Is it a comedy/sci-fi sort of thing?

Ah it's good it's not too long.

Thank you. It's a great hassle in town already, customers service in Romania is appalling.

Cacoethes 19-10-2018 11:48 AM

It's basically the looney tunes kidnapping Michael Jordan to play a basketball game against aliens
Part cartoon part real!

Indigo. 19-10-2018 11:54 AM

I have, in fact, seen it!! I didn't know what it was called but I remember it was a bit trippy XD

Cacoethes 19-10-2018 11:56 AM

Haha!
It is a bit!

chinahorse 19-10-2018 12:35 PM

Yep very strange like the one with Jessica rabbit in it.

I now have sparkly windows. And may have to have a nap before going to town.

Indigo. 19-10-2018 12:46 PM

Yay for sparkly windows Lillie! I too need a nap.

My uncle and I stopped for food at a tiny restaurant. Excited for pasta!

chinahorse 19-10-2018 12:49 PM

I've mssedthe odd bit but overall it's a massive yay! As is how warm and sunny it is. I need a kick up the bum to put some make up on and leave the house.

Ooooooo jealous of pasta!!

Indigo. 19-10-2018 01:10 PM

Do you have much to do today Lillie?

It's al forno, I haven't had any like this in ages, so it's a nice treat. My partner made arrabbiata with chicken the other day and I really enjoyed that, it's one of my favourites.

chinahorse 19-10-2018 02:40 PM

I know arrabiata, but dunno what a al forno is :/

I'm back from town, just went in for some snacks, laundry dettol and loo roll. Now just discovered I'm nearly out of washing gel too. *sigh* shall go probably Sunday.

What're you lot up to?

one_step_closer 19-10-2018 02:46 PM

Food talk already!

I have no idea how it's even possible for humans to get up really early for a number of days in a row. I was up at about 6.55am yesterday and felt terrible by the end of the day and then didn't get out of bed until 10.40am this morning.

chinahorse 19-10-2018 02:48 PM

We do it with caffeine, sugar, progressively early nights and the knowledge that we'll get the sack if we turn up that late.

Hopefully you can have a pretty chilled day today?

one_step_closer 19-10-2018 03:18 PM

I did think coffee might be part of the answer, I need to find a coffee substitute if I have to be up early lots in the future. It actually terrifies me that I won't be able to cope with early mornings!

I'm absolutely fine today anyway. Nothing big on so just been food shopping and done some housework etc.

What will you be doing with the rest of your day Lillie?

chinahorse 19-10-2018 03:52 PM

Ive done some housework too. Always feels like you get to the end and then have to start again doesn't it?

Not sure if I'm gunna nap or not. Just got into some comfy clothes and put some laundry on. Definitely should be doing some work studying though. Blergh.

And it sounds like one of those saying but you do just get used to them.

one_step_closer 19-10-2018 06:16 PM

You're always on top of your housework so that'll be why it seems never ending. I end up leaving some things undone for quite a while. I always keep on top of cat stuff and washing clothes though.

I think it would be ok for you to let go of the 'should' for tonight and concentrate on relaxing and doing what you want to do, if it's not going to play on your mind that you're not doing work studying. You deserve a break.

nonperson 19-10-2018 06:25 PM

Hullo all.

This made me lol:

chinahorse 19-10-2018 06:28 PM

You lol because it's true NP!

I did a half hours of study lindsay and am now essentially having a fight with myself about going to bed.

What're you guys up to?

one_step_closer 19-10-2018 06:31 PM

Which part of you is winning?

I'm getting pestered by my cats who want fed so I will go do that and put the lights on cause it's dark. Then..?

chinahorse 19-10-2018 06:33 PM

Ooooooo kitty <3 the dark is drawing in earlier and earlier. Possibly we should shut curtains?

Erm I suppose the part that knows it'll royally F up my sleeping pattern if I go now.

nonperson 19-10-2018 06:36 PM

It is true apart from caffeine for me.

I'm half watching tv, half checking facebook, thinking what random concoction I can make for dinner because I am severely low on supplies.... and avoiding doing some very last minute work.

My cat was being an ******** earlier so I'm glad he's gone out!

Aubergine 19-10-2018 07:18 PM

Yo. :)

one_step_closer 19-10-2018 07:39 PM

What was he doing NP?

Hi Aubergine, what you up to?

Indigo. 19-10-2018 07:43 PM

Lillie, pasta al forno is essentially a fancy name for pasta bake! Literally means in the oven.

Sounds like everyone's done quite a bit today! Housework is exhausting and you have to keep doing it over and over again. I'm not very good at keeping on top of things.

Also: kitties! I miss having a cat!

My partner wakes up early everyday, and manages to get ready for work in an hour, and to work in half an hour. (They don't drink coffee either!) I would never be able to do that, I'm too much of a zombie in the morning.

nonperson 19-10-2018 08:15 PM

Lindsay, he was pestering next door's cat and being a greedy guts when I was trying to give both of them some treats. Fast asleep and sweet and innocent again now though.

chinahorse 19-10-2018 09:08 PM

Haha np imagining that made me lol. Howre you?

Ahhh Lucy. I also had pasta tonight nomnom. And I get ready for work in at most 45 mins. You kinda just autopilot it.

Hey aubergine :)

nonperson 19-10-2018 09:31 PM

I'm ok. Just had dinner... Not pasta though - I'm all out and my pesto went mouldy!

chinahorse 19-10-2018 09:33 PM

Oh no! I've been bad at letting food go to waste too. What did you have instead?

Just done coat one of my nails, sparkly bronze ish.

nonperson 19-10-2018 09:35 PM

I'm so low on food that I thought my dinner was going to be breaded chicken in a roll.... but I found some rice so had that with BBQ chicken and veg instead.

Are you doing them for a special occasion?

chinahorse 19-10-2018 09:46 PM

Glad you found a decent meal.

Nah. More a I can't do silly things without smudging them reasons.
