Haha the sea is being so rude taking away the beach from you! :-P
I know it's so so hot here too. Which is lovely. But it can go away tonight please because working won't be fun otherwise. |
Yes, it can clear tonight. I am also working tomorrow. The box I work in gets so hot! :'(
|
Can you get a fan for work?
I may have to go without long sleeves because the black trousers and nurse like top will boil me anyway!! I sit under a sky light which is some sort of torture I swear :-P |
Ha ha long sleeves in this weather are a bitch, know the feeling :P The lightest cardigans are my best solution as a general rule.
|
We have four tower fans. They do not do much. We really need air con! That would be money though...
Under a skylight sounds awful. Short sleeves sound good if you're ok with it. I wear short sleeves at work and only one person commented. Admin staff that should really know better! I sat on the wall and a bit wave came and now I am very wet! Have moved to the top of the ramp to dry off! |
Ah see if I wear a car die all I get all day is you must be boiling take it off! Usually I really don't care and often wear short or 3/4 sleeves outside work and even in my last work I just wore the top
But this is a grown up proper job and I'm not in charge. A bowl of ice under the fan works amazingly like aircon. May not be ok in your work though :/ Haha! At least it's warm enough to dry you off quickly. |
I hope you feel ok to wear short sleeves if it's too hot, Lillie. I have a proper, grown up job where I have to tell doctors to stop being silly and it's fine. :)
I'd be shot by estates if I did that! I just ordered a rechargable clip on fan for my computer! It was £15, so not the cheapest, but I cannot do another summer like last year! |
15 quid sounds like a small price to pay for how big a difference it will hopefully make.
I've just bought some breathable slip on trainer/ ballet shoes for work so I hope that helps my hips and knees. I should do some studying but it's difficult when the body is being such an idiot. What're you all up to now? Any drier aubergine? |
I think the sea wants you to be a mermaid Aubergine.
|
Is it bad to have laughed out loud at the image of Aubergine being soaked by a wave? XD
I'm imagining a Shamu at Sea World sort of wave! |
Yes, NP. Yes it is.
We should have a virtual water fight. |
Oh well, I'm a bad person then! =D
I always wanted one of those Nerf Supersoakers when I was a child, they always looked so fun on the adverts! |
If I saw it happen in real life I may laugh though!
They did look fun. Water balloons were a little scary though I thought. |
My imagination is too good sometimes...
Yeah, never been a fan of water balloons - too wasteful and inaccurate! |
Person! You are very mean!
|
I know. =(
|
Hehe. :) I actually quite enjoyed it. :D
Oh my. I'm glad I'm not getting the train I got on the way here. It's just pulled up and is just as packed as it was this afternoon. Only a two coach train though, so I know to avoid it in future! My train should be a long train as it's going far, far away! |
I suppose people are still coming to the seaside for the evening as well.
Hopefully yours will be quiet. |
Well, it's not super quiet, but I have a seat. :) There's a change of train at the next station and it's only a one coach train. How can the put on a one coach train from a tourist destination to an airport city on a bank holiday? Considering waiting for the next train. Won't get back until late, but I can't spend over an hour like a sardine.
|
Maybe see how busy the train is first?
The rubbish gwr are updating things and in the process making them more rubbish. Can I has hugs? I'm feeling sorry for myself. Also should really buy a human thermometer. |
That does seem rather silly on a bank holiday! Might be worth waiting for the next one if you're in no particular rush to get back.
|
*gives lots of hugs for Lillie* =(
|
It's very silly on a bank holiday. They squished most of the people from the two coach train (which was going out of service) onto the one coach train, plus the people who were waiting at this station to get on. I was an adult though and spoke to a lady in the platform and there is a super long london train going to the same station my connection is going to (in plenty of time), so I got on it and it's air conditioned and I've got two seats to myself. Phew.
Oh Lillie. :( *gentle hugs* |
I hope your journey home goes ok Aubergine.
*hugs Lillie* Needing anything else that we can provide? |
Great adulting Aubergine
|
Oh that was good thinking aubergine! And a much more comfortable journey.
Thank you for hugs guys. I mostly just need a pet on the head and someone to listen to moaning. Who wants to go to work for me tomorrow? Or trade work? Open to offers :-P |
Hope your journey goes ok Aubergine!
Well done for sorting trains! Massive hugs Lillie Moan all you like! We're here for you <3 Just got back from going out to dinner with another friend Now chilling watching Eastenders with nanny! |
I would trade, but I don't start until 2pm so I feel I would be getting a bum deal. :P
You moan away. Always here to listen. <3 |
You are a busy bea, beckie!
|
Darn. Mind mine sound /marginally/ cooler than yours. But I don't get the fun of shouting at baby doctors. I'll just have 8000 patients with sudden dental emergencies because the weather is nice and they don't want to look ***** in photos.
Ooo sounds nice beckie. You manage to avoid all the storms and flooding? <3 you guys |
Oh my goodness no. It's half term. There will be 8 million small humans at work all day. All week. Send help!
|
Eek, at least it's only 4 days of work rather than 5? Remember you're in control and they have to do what you say!
|
There hasn't been any storms or flooding here!
Just hot boiling sun! Small humans are annoying |
I wish it was just the baby doctors I had to shout at. The consultants are certainly not beyond massively screwing up. They like to shout back sometimes though. "I demand to talk to the pharmacist." Ok, go for it. So they do and get told exactly the same thing. I wouldn't be phoning them unless I was completely confident/had already run my issue by the very same pharmacist!
I will send reinforcements! We're usually quieter in school holidays, which is great because we're two staff and a regular pharmacist down this week! |
Ah there's nothing like putting people in their place. =P
|
Hehe. One consultant demanded to speak to the chief pharmacist because I had asked him to write a controlled drug script legally. I took the phone through to her office and she made him march down to the pharmacy to change it. :D
|
=P
You're a force not to be messed with! |
Haha!
Don't mess with aubergine!! |
Haha! Only at work am I like that! Outside of work I am nowhere near as assertive/confident.
|
Same. I'm a totally different person at work... =/
|
Perhaps it's because we know what we're doing at work, but struggle with knowing what we're doing when it comes to life...
|
It is exactly that. Work has always been a safe place, of sorts.
|
no delivery tomorrow so a wee extra day off work :-D
|
Awesome. =D
|
Hooray!
I'm now home. Very sandy. Need to shower. Very tired. Don't want to. |
You don't want to get sand in your bed!
|
You're right. I don't. Effort!
|
Got up. Gave Alec some dreamies. Sat down again. :wow:
|
There's no rush. =)
|
Did it.
Now drinking a beer that was in the fridge. The cat keeps trying to steal it. Does your cat like beer? |
