I think most people agree to informal admission only because they are threatened with detention. I know I have. There's some articles about whether informal admission really is voluntary, since most people are first threatened with detention. I'm not sure of the sense but if you were going to stay informally anyway then you were still going to be in hospital so not an entire change. I hope things work out for you Beckie.
