Cacoethes 13-01-2024 02:16 PM

Hey tamo
How are you?

one_step_closer 13-01-2024 04:30 PM

What's happening, Beckie?

How are you, Tamo?

I got a little crochet thing that smells like vanilla and Crookshanks is trying to claim it. I'm not allowed anything.

tamobhuuta 13-01-2024 05:03 PM

Naughty Crookshanks!

I'm struggling but one of the HCAs has been very supportive. How are you?

Cacoethes 13-01-2024 05:08 PM

A whole lot of things lindsay
But I'll live

Well, that's his now, you'll need to get another one for you! :p

I'm glad you have a supportive person about tamo

one_step_closer 13-01-2024 06:44 PM

I'm glad someone is there for you, Tamo.

Look after yourself or reach out if you need to, Beckie.

It's been quiet here today.

not_so_insig 13-01-2024 07:17 PM

Sorry I haven't been around much just been ridiculously tired and sleeping tons lately.

Pi.R^2 13-01-2024 07:22 PM

A crochet thing that smells of vanilla, whaaat? Like made out of wool? Why does it smell of vanilla??

Also hi everyone :) Glad you've had support from a HCA tamo.

long road 13-01-2024 10:34 PM

Belated greetings Jenna!

I have had a bit of a difficult day

Cacoethes 14-01-2024 11:07 AM

Morning everyone

tamobhuuta 14-01-2024 11:23 AM

Morning Cacoethes how are you?

Cacoethes 14-01-2024 11:31 AM

Not too bad thanks
Stayed at L's
Just on way home now

How are you?

tamobhuuta 14-01-2024 11:34 AM

I'm ok. Got up for meds but back in bed now. What are you up to today?

long road 14-01-2024 12:13 PM

Morning!

I am not very awake but trying to avoid falling back asleep.

one_step_closer 14-01-2024 12:45 PM

Morning everyone, almost afternoon.

Jenna, yes it is made out of wool and must have something inside. I got to choose the smell. It's very nice and soft and cute and Crookshanks is kindly leaving it alone now.

Did you enjoy seeing L, Beckie?

Did you go back to sleep or just rest, Tamo?

Hope you're managing to stay up, Jen.

tamobhuuta 14-01-2024 02:19 PM

I just rested until my mum arrived osc. She had to text me to say she was here because staff failed to tell me!

You up to much osc?

Is there anything you can do to stay awake lr?

Cacoethes 14-01-2024 03:13 PM

L has gone now

How is everyone
Apologies for not catching up
The brain ain't braining

long road 14-01-2024 04:25 PM

I failed to stay awake. But I think it was because of FND symptoms that everything was so fuzzy so probably needed the rest. Woke up about 3pm. Still not really with it.

Hey Beckie, hope you can take thing easy if your brain isn't braining properly.

Cacoethes 14-01-2024 04:28 PM

Sounds like you did need the rest jen

Yeah i don't really have anything else to do today

one_step_closer 14-01-2024 04:30 PM

Did you have a nice visit, Tamo?

Sometimes brains need some rest, Beckie.

I hope you feel more awake soon, Jen.

long road 14-01-2024 04:39 PM

It doesn't feel like I am going to be fully awake today. But have made it to the sofa. Still not feeling great FND wise, in pain, finding it hard to think and zoning out a bit.

When are your coffee pods meant to arrive Beckie?

How are you Lindsay?

not_so_insig 14-01-2024 04:43 PM

Hello all. I am feeling quite normal and not so tired today. I have had a hair cut. I have also managed to wash and dry my hair.

Cacoethes 14-01-2024 04:53 PM

My brain isn't good at rest

Zoning out is ok jen!

The coffee pods arrived yesterday morning!
I have toffee cappuccino, creme brulee latte, hot chocolate and normal cappuccino!

long road 14-01-2024 05:02 PM

Hi Dawn. Are you happy with your haircut?

I hear you Beckie resting can be boring and it is hard to get brains on board with even if physically you need it.

It's zoning out bordering on Dissociation though so trying to stay present.

Ooh exciting!
Have you tried any yet?

not_so_insig 14-01-2024 05:04 PM

Yes I am happy with my hair cut though part of me now wishes I haven't had it. Still it badly needed doing. Might dye my hair this week.

Cacoethes 14-01-2024 05:35 PM

Ah yeah, dissociation isn't good.

I've tried all but the creme brulee latte
All very nice!

long road 14-01-2024 05:42 PM

How come part of you is wishing you hadn't had it cut Dawn? What colour will you dye your hair?

Been doing grounding techniques.

Awesome. Was the toffeenut one especially good?

Cacoethes 14-01-2024 05:43 PM

Hopefully the grounding works!

It was very good!

not_so_insig 14-01-2024 05:50 PM

I am probably dyeing my hair blonde as that's what I have hair dye of.

tamobhuuta 14-01-2024 06:34 PM

Mmm tastey drinks.

Is the grounding helping lr?

I hope you can get your hair how you like it insig.

I had a good time with my mum thanks. She's coming back with my sister at 6pm.

one_step_closer 14-01-2024 06:41 PM

What grounding techniques do you use, Jen?

I think a lot of people don't like when they first get a hair cut, Dawn. I hope you can feel better about it.

You'll need to try a creme brûlée one soon so you can share your review with us, Beckie. I love how my mcbook made brûlée all posh looking!

Do your family live close to the hospital, Tamo?

I'm not sure how I am. Desperately trying to avoid thinking about that.

long road 14-01-2024 06:58 PM

Grounding is helping a little. Finding it hard to focus though. I tend to use sensory grounding techniques such as 54321 or focusing on the feelings in your body feet on the floor, bum on seat sort of thing or trying to describe an object to someone who hasn't seen it before.

In that case Lindsay what are you doing to distract yourself?

one_step_closer 14-01-2024 07:01 PM

Keep going.

I'm currently switching between Fb and here but am about to go offline and watch some TV. There has just been a snow flurry that literally lasted seconds and then disappeared.

not_so_insig 14-01-2024 07:56 PM

Yes according to Facebook we are supposed to get snow here on Tuesday. Trouble is my village is terrible in the snow. Thankfully my tesco shopping order is due tomorrow and not Tuesday. I probably have enough food to keep me going in the freezer though. One particular snowfall was bad and I only had chicken so ate chicken twice a day every day for a week. Thankfully I don't have a key meter so if it's really bad I only have to venture as far as the bins and not worry about running out of electricity and gas.

tamobhuuta 14-01-2024 08:12 PM

My family live about 20 minutes away. They brought me hot chocolate :)

Cacoethes 14-01-2024 08:19 PM

I've got the creme brulee one now!
It's nice!

Hope you feel better after some distraction lindsay

Aww that's nice of them tamo
You're lucky they live so close!
My local wards are an hour away from all my family and friends!

long road 14-01-2024 08:24 PM

How lovely Tamo.

Yay for creme brulee coffee Beckie. Is it vanillary and brown sugary tasting? (Trying to work out the essence of a creme brulee)

I have a Yorkshire biscuit tea.

Cacoethes 14-01-2024 08:26 PM

It is vanilla-y and sweet!

Yummy!

long road 14-01-2024 08:38 PM

Hooray I guessed right!

It's great the essence of a malted milk biscuit dipped in tea as a cup of tea.

Cacoethes 14-01-2024 08:51 PM

Malted milk biscuits are one of the best to dunk, so that must be really nice!

tamobhuuta 14-01-2024 09:05 PM

I think the best biscuits to dunk are rich teas.

Cacoethes 14-01-2024 09:08 PM

I'm not a fan of rich teas.
Fav dunking biscuits are hobnobs and malted milks!

long road 14-01-2024 09:15 PM

It's made by Yorkshire Tea and called malty biscuit brew, basically standard black tea with malt extract and possibly some other chemistry added.

Malted milk are very good to dunk. Also like to dunk a digestive. I like rich tea but I think they go soggy too quickly when dunked.

nonperson 14-01-2024 09:39 PM

Dip the chocolate covered versions of rich teas, hobnobs and malted milks. They hold together better!

long road 14-01-2024 09:41 PM

But I don't want melted chocolate in my tea!

tamobhuuta 14-01-2024 09:51 PM

Luckily I am a quick dunker.

long road 14-01-2024 10:07 PM

Speed dunking! I get easily distracted and this sometimes leads to biscuit at the bottom of my tea.

Biscuit tea is the solution because it tastes like I dunked with none o the mess!

tamobhuuta 14-01-2024 10:47 PM

You've made me want tea and biscuits.

long road 14-01-2024 11:16 PM

Sorry Tamo!

Cacoethes 15-01-2024 03:30 AM
