It's all I see being advertised! Especially on channel 4/E4

You seen the advert for the one where noone speaks the same language?

I'm not going to watch it, but that concept would make for a facinating psychological experiment if done right. Part of me is really curious if emotions and connections can bypass spoken communication in that way. Can you truly connect with someone that you have no common language with?

Cacoethes 16-01-2022 11:35 AM

Yes I've seen the advert for that one!
It is certainly an interesting spin on a dating show

tamobhuuta 16-01-2022 11:54 AM

I am meh too.

I have never watched a dating programme.

Cacoethes 16-01-2022 12:01 PM

I don't think I have either tbh!
Apart from clips of them when I watch gogglebox

tamobhuuta 16-01-2022 12:06 PM

Eurgh, gogglebox.

shadow-light 16-01-2022 12:12 PM

I don't see the appeal of gogglebox to be honest, or dating shows, or reality tv, or those signing/dancing/talent shows

tamobhuuta 16-01-2022 12:19 PM

What tv do you like? I like non-dramatic dramas eg doctors. Although, is that technically a soap?

Cacoethes 16-01-2022 12:32 PM

Gogglebox is a guilty pleasure of mine!

I don't like dating shows or reality tv though.
I mean, I don't really watch TV. Just have it on all the time for background noise
I like comedy panel shows though!

I think that would count as a soap tamo

tamobhuuta 16-01-2022 12:39 PM

Shame. What about Waterloo Road, is that a drama?

Cacoethes 16-01-2022 12:44 PM

I think so!

shadow-light 16-01-2022 01:44 PM

I mainly watch like satirical current affairs stuff like mock the week and last leg also documentaries. Though I do like taskmaster also QI

It's rare that I like dramas and the like. Though I did like handmaids tail

shadow-light 16-01-2022 01:46 PM

In a way I mainly use TV as background noise too I think. I do like to rematch certain things (mainly animated) over and over, like the simpsons, futurama, and American dad for example

I think my brain likes the familiarity

Cacoethes 16-01-2022 01:54 PM

I love those kind of shows Hazel
And i also really got into handmaid's tale.

Apparently re watching familiar stuff is a symptom of anxiety.
But I don't know a single person who doesn't do it!
Maybe it's just that everyone I know is anxious?

shadow-light 16-01-2022 02:11 PM

Maybe

I've been told it may be my autism as I will at times watch (while doing something else at same time) the same episode 20 times in a day

Cacoethes 16-01-2022 02:34 PM

Ah yeah
I don't think I could watch the same episode several times in a day!

one_step_closer 16-01-2022 05:09 PM

I'm the opposite I think, I never go back and watch something I've already watched. It feels like I'm wasting time when I could be watching something else. I only watch TV in the late evening anyway where I'll watch one or two things.

Cacoethes 16-01-2022 05:13 PM

That makes sense!

My neighbour is coming to clean tomorrow
My house is a tip lol

one_step_closer 16-01-2022 05:14 PM

How often does she do your cleaning?

Cacoethes 16-01-2022 05:30 PM

She usually comes once a month.
But she hasn't been in quite a while because whenever she asked if I wanted her to.come and clean I said no.

tamobhuuta 16-01-2022 07:29 PM

Hola! I've been to church :)

Cacoethes 16-01-2022 07:33 PM

How was it?

tamobhuuta 16-01-2022 07:36 PM

Italian! But I followed it in English. It's a nice mass, only about 20 to 30 people.

Cacoethes 16-01-2022 07:38 PM

Sounds good :)

tamobhuuta 16-01-2022 08:45 PM

It was :) how has your day been?

Cacoethes 16-01-2022 08:54 PM

Pretty boring tbh!

tamobhuuta 16-01-2022 09:00 PM

:( will tomorrow bring activities?

Cacoethes 16-01-2022 09:03 PM

I have a few bits to do tomorrow
Crisis team, neighbour coming over to clean, few phone calls to make, pick up prescription. Then there's this wellbeing thing at work (for customers) where you can go for free coffee/pastries and a chat. One of the girls recommended I come because she knows I'm having a hard time

tamobhuuta 16-01-2022 09:33 PM

That all sounds positive (although I know you hate having the Crisis Team)

Cacoethes 16-01-2022 09:37 PM

I do hate seeing the crisis team.
They said they'll review it on Thursday. Which seems ages away!
But yes it's all good stuff!

tamobhuuta 16-01-2022 09:56 PM

:)

I've cancelled my phone call with my godmother, I can't face it.

Cacoethes 16-01-2022 10:08 PM

That's fair enough

Cacoethes 17-01-2022 10:07 AM

Morning everyone

tamobhuuta 17-01-2022 11:43 AM

Morning, how are you?

Cacoethes 17-01-2022 11:50 AM

Annoyed.
But I did get a new hoodie in the post so yay!

You?

not_so_insig 17-01-2022 11:51 AM

Morning Beckie. Useless my Hermes strikes again because they didn't knock meaning I missed a parcel despite being in. I am not 100% sure what it is because i am expecting several parcels but they can all fit through my letterbox. So why on earth didn't they shove it through the letterbox or leave it with a neighbour? It appears that commonsense isn't that common any more. Apparently they're coming back tomorrow but I dont have a tracking number so god knows when it will arrive.

Cacoethes 17-01-2022 12:08 PM

Hermes suck.
My parcel was from yodel

not_so_insig 17-01-2022 12:20 PM

The thing is that I am expecting my cpn and tesco tomorrow so it will be too much if they come at the same time. Especially if i am in the middle of having my depot.

tamobhuuta 17-01-2022 12:20 PM

I hope you get your parcel soon insig.

Is it a nice floofie hoodie Cacoethes?

I am ok, slept really well

not_so_insig 17-01-2022 12:24 PM

Thanks tamobhuuta

tamobhuuta 17-01-2022 12:31 PM

I'm going to get dressed today, I feel like I'm turning into the mad pyjama lady.

Cacoethes 17-01-2022 01:59 PM

It is not a floofie hoodie. Just a regular hoodie!

Glad you slept well!

shadow-light 17-01-2022 02:09 PM

*waves*

how's people today?

Cacoethes 17-01-2022 02:18 PM

Hey hazel

How are you?

shadow-light 17-01-2022 02:21 PM

been better. Got to got to go to college tonight, I keep missing it as I just can't make myself go, but I have to start forcing myself to go... My addendence percetage is shocking, if it wasn;t for the mental health stuff I reckon they would have chucked me off the course by now

how are you today?

Cacoethes 17-01-2022 02:43 PM

What are you doing at college again?
It can be really hard to do these things

Meh. Lots going on!

shadow-light 17-01-2022 02:47 PM

training to be a Personal Trainer. I'm sturggling with this section though as we are doing about nutrision... A month ag we had a lesson on eating disorders and I felt like I had o correct like 90% of the syllabus

though that's not why I am not turning up, I'm just struggling with house leaving or people around being at the moment... plus have zero concentration, not even 100% sure I am safe to drive at the moment as can't focus on anything and stuff is distracting me

you at work today?

Cacoethes 17-01-2022 03:20 PM

Ah yes I remember.
There's a lot of misinformation about eating disorders.

Could you email the college and see if you could catch up online or something?

Nope! Not until Wednesday.
Though I am considering going to the 'open table' thing. So free tea/coffee (which i get anyway) and pastries and just taking to people. As part of wellbeing week. And blue Monday

shadow-light 17-01-2022 03:37 PM

unfortunately half of each week is in the gym so can't really do that bit online. the tutor last year allowed me to be online only because we couldn't use the gym due to covid, but different tutor this year plus we are allowed in the gym again so ye... also like I really should actually leave the house

free tea/coffee and people to talk to sounds positive

Cacoethes 17-01-2022 03:42 PM

Ah that's tricky
Yeah I get that.
Leaving the house can be really hard

It does.
I'm not sure if I want to go out though

shadow-light 17-01-2022 03:46 PM

we can be recluces together

it's silly really as I know logically that there's nothing really truely bad about going out, but my brain seems to disagree with the logic at the moment
