Hope you have a good time Beckie :)

Pomegranate 30-01-2018 08:34 PM

Hope it’s a good one Beckie :-)

Cheryl88 30-01-2018 08:39 PM

Hi everyone. What’s happening with you all tonight?

Cacoethes 30-01-2018 08:40 PM

Thanks!
Wasn't too bad!
Staying for group. Always have some quality bants

What's everyone else up to tonight?

Sketchy 30-01-2018 08:42 PM

Hey Cheryl.

I’m going to have a lazy evening. I might even have a whisky as a wee treat.

Cheryl88 30-01-2018 08:47 PM

I’m considering going for a wee carry out before I go home. Six bottles of beer won’t do any harm.

I had a productive day, even went to visit my friend I’ve not seen since summer and got some laundry done. I’m with my dad at the hospital, I’m leaving shortly.

Sketchy 30-01-2018 08:49 PM

A cheeky wee beer can be nice.

Sounds like you have had a busy day. I hope you get to relax now. I know it’s hard just now, but some time to look after yourself will do you good.

zombiehunter 30-01-2018 08:54 PM

always the beer *nods*

Cheryl88 30-01-2018 08:55 PM

My CPN is coming tomorrow afternoon and I’ve got to be at home for deliveries coming so I’m going to visit my mum early and be home for midday and take a day off.

My mum just told me you can get a PhD in bingo, personally I think she’s making it up. We were talking about Mastermind and what our specialist subjects would be. I’d choose the Gospel of Mark. What would you choose? Apparently Harry Potter is the most popular subject request.

MyLastKiss 30-01-2018 08:56 PM

Been writing a application for grants and now I'm having a bear at a sports bar, with a hockey game I'm not so interested in

Sketchy 30-01-2018 08:57 PM

I would choose an art theme. But I’d probably crack under pressure. I’m no good when put on the spot.

Sketchy 30-01-2018 08:57 PM

Hey Mylastkiss. Hope you are enjoying yourself.

zombiehunter 30-01-2018 08:57 PM

my chosen specialist subject would be MEEEEETAAAAAAL \m/

MyLastKiss 30-01-2018 08:58 PM

ha ha
beer it is

Sketchy 30-01-2018 08:59 PM

Haha zombie, I had a feeling you would say that.

Cacoethes 30-01-2018 09:03 PM

My specialist subject would be assassins creed or harry potter!

MyLastKiss 30-01-2018 09:04 PM

Cheryl88 30-01-2018 09:05 PM

I wouldn’t contemplate going on Mastermind, I hate public speaking. I much prefer pub quizzes, haven’t been to one in years.

I’m flicking through an OK magazine and I don’t know half the people in it. Apparently Kate Middleton is pregnant and having a home birth. I bet she reads the Guardian.

Sketchy 30-01-2018 09:07 PM

I have no idea who all the people are in magazines too.

I haven’t been to a pub quiz in years. Zombie have you ever done the pub quiz in the solid? I failed epically at it.

Pomegranate 30-01-2018 09:09 PM

Mine would probably be something dorky like ‘possession during the reformation period in england’ . Was my dissertation topic.

Cheryl88 30-01-2018 09:13 PM

That sounds really interesting! It was during the Reformation all the witch burning started. I don’t think they knew anything about mental illness, everything was put down to demons.

I’ve been to some modern churches whose congregations think along the same lines. I read an interesting article the other day about snake-handling preachers in America. Just bizarre.

nonperson 30-01-2018 09:14 PM

I'd probably have to choose something foody as my specialist topic.

Sketchy 30-01-2018 09:15 PM

I would have thought you would choose a botanical subject.

nonperson 30-01-2018 09:17 PM

Well... I considered that but I'm sure I'd fail epicly.

Did get all the answers right on a climbing plant question on Pointless yesterday though.

Sketchy 30-01-2018 09:18 PM

Well done.

How is your work going?

nonperson 30-01-2018 09:18 PM

Oh I've got it... My topic would be "Food you can cook in a microwave". =)

nonperson 30-01-2018 09:19 PM

It's going ok, it goes better when I'm left alone. Big changes afoot except no one will really say what yet. Just hints.

Cheryl88 30-01-2018 09:19 PM

Hi Person. Happy belated birthday! How did your day go?

nonperson 30-01-2018 09:21 PM

Hi FreeAtLast. Thanks, it was nice to go home for the day. =)

Sketchy 30-01-2018 09:21 PM

I hope they leave you alone and the changes go well.

nonperson 30-01-2018 09:24 PM

We'll see.

Chocolate cake time...!

Cheryl88 30-01-2018 09:24 PM

Glad to hear it, Person.

Cheryl88 30-01-2018 09:28 PM

My friend gave me something called a knitting loom for making hats. She’s making little woollen hats for premature babies. I got a bigger one so when I’ve got time I’m going to make some for homeless people. That’s my intention, whether or not I get round to it is another story.

Sketchy 30-01-2018 09:29 PM

Cheryl that’s such a lovely thing to do. I wish you luck with it.

Sketchy 30-01-2018 09:29 PM

Yay chocolate cake!

Cheryl88 30-01-2018 09:32 PM

I’ve always wanted to be able to knit. My mammy’s a good knitter, she makes clothes for her pals’ grandchildren. I used to volunteer at a drop-in centre for homeless people but gave it up when I got sick.

Cheryl88 30-01-2018 09:34 PM

Sorry, I’m on my phone and the signal isn’t great so I kept hitting post.

Sketchy 30-01-2018 09:36 PM

My mum was a great knitter. My sister knits and crochets. She’s made me blankets, hats and other goodies.

Cheryl88 30-01-2018 09:40 PM

I remember being shown how to cross-stitch in primary school but I’m not very crafty. I do like a good painting-by-numbers, I find it quite therapeutic and there’s very little creativity required. :D

Sketchy 30-01-2018 09:43 PM

I love all things creative. I went to art school and learned so many methods of art. I taught myself sewing too.

Cheryl88 30-01-2018 09:46 PM

That’s cool and useful. I can just about sew a button onto a shirt. I’m heading home, via Tesco. If you’re not here when I come back online, have a great night and thanks again.

Pomegranate 30-01-2018 09:47 PM

My friends all meet on a Monday evening to do crafts but I just can’t seem to get into it. Wish I could.

Sketchy 30-01-2018 09:49 PM

Maybe you haven’t found the right craft Emma. I’ve taught art workshops and found there is something for everyone. Yours is out there, so keep trying.

Pomegranate 30-01-2018 09:55 PM

Thanks Lorraine. I think the problem is my concentration span. I did quite a bit of decoupage in hospital and also some scrap booking. I don’t have the patience or concentration for things like cross stitch or sewing or paper cutting which seem to be the main things they do. I’m about as artistic as a spoon lol. I do sometimes do adult colouring of mandalas though. What’s your favourite crafty activity?

Sketchy 30-01-2018 10:01 PM

My favourite is painting and printmaking. But I like to sew too. I love drawing.

Have you ever tried silk painting? You don’t have to pint specific objects, just make marks with the brush and allow the fabric to soak the painting up. Quite relaxing.

Pomegranate 30-01-2018 10:02 PM

Not tried it or even heard of it! It does sound quite relaxing though. I used to love drawing still life but was never very good and stopped about 12 years ago when I first got really unwell. Maybe I’ll try and get back into arts and crafts. I found crocheting quite relaxing- but again, wasn’t very good!

Pomegranate 30-01-2018 10:03 PM

How do you do print making?

Cacoethes 30-01-2018 10:09 PM

Hey guyyyss

Pomegranate 30-01-2018 10:13 PM

Hey Beckie! You home? How’s the pizza?

Sketchy 30-01-2018 10:15 PM

Printmaking covers a variety of methods including screen printing, etching and lithography, but you need a studio with printing presses and everything. There’s a print studio in Glasgow I used to use, but it’s been years. I try some relief printing in my flat. That can be Lino cuts and wood cuts.
