Accidentally Abstract 22-08-2023 08:40 PM

A hell of a lot. This place was my life for a long time.

Evening! Yum, roast sounds delightful and hooray for actually being able to eat without your lungs being a pain! I hope they continue to not be too much of a pain and settle down for you.

Cacoethes 23-08-2023 12:15 AM

Back from work!
Got a lift home, otherwise I'd only be halfway back!
Hopefully everyone is asleep by now!

Cacoethes 23-08-2023 06:32 AM

Good (proper) morning guys!

long road 23-08-2023 07:14 AM

Morning! I have been awake an hour. But spent nearly 20 minutes of that trying I rescue my phone from where it had fallen under the bed without waking my partner XD

I got my phone but also woke partner, although he seems to have drifted back off. Just doing breakfast and meds that go with food.

How are you this morning Beckie? Any news on further door maintenance?

Cacoethes 23-08-2023 07:31 AM

Oh no! Nightmare!

No news. But it was 4pm when he left yesterday and 7:30am now, so I'm going to assume he's not at work yet. He has to go and pick up a lock from somewhere too. And is very busy, he works for 7 other letting agents.

Got anything on today?
I have my first neuro appointment in over a year and a half at 2:45. But it's on the phone, so that's fine!

long road 23-08-2023 07:51 AM

I can see the funny side now XD

Fair! Eek 7 letting agents he must keep super busy!!

Nothing major on. Partner's sister is popping around again this afternoon. Tomorrow my parents are travelling from where I grew up in Bucks down here to South West to visit for a few days. They were meant to come last week but I was too ill. I am looking forward to it as I do get on with my parents and it will be nice to have them helping instead of it just being partners family. Also glad they arent going to be here super long though XD I need my personal space!

Well epilepsy has been behaving itself so hopefully not a super long call either. Are you going to ask about driving?

Cacoethes 23-08-2023 07:55 AM

Yep he does!

Ah it'll be nice to see your parents!
I know what you mean about the personal space though!

They're usually short calls anyway tbh.
The DVLA have already written to him (they sent me a letter saying so) but i imagine we will be discussing it. Worried he's going to say no! Though i don't know why he would.

long road 23-08-2023 08:15 AM

I am generally more chill visiting them at my childhood home as there is a lot more space than my 2bed flat, also because we all lived there together for so long they belong there sort of thing??

But yes really looking forward to seeing them and getting hugs. April is when I last saw them in person.

I think the worry is the overanalyzing part of your Brian kicking in. It will probably be fine :)

Just had a cup of my fancy Ethiopian coffee. Sooo good!

Cacoethes 23-08-2023 08:20 AM

Yeah i get that.
Although less so now, since I've never lived in their current house.

That's quite a while without seeing them!
I can't remember when i last saw/spoke to my mum.
Not that long ago i don't think

Yeah it definitely is!

Oooh lovely!

long road 23-08-2023 08:46 AM

Well my parents do live 200 miles away! Your mum is a lot closer to you distance wise. We do a telephone call or video chat every couple of weeks plus messaging inbetween

Just doing some gentle physio for my legs. They are still tight from yesterday but at least they aren't twitching currently!

Other than neuro phone call any other plans? I think I might make a birthday card for a family member whose 71st birthday is next week. Will keep me occupied so I don't overdo things when the zoomies hit

Cacoethes 23-08-2023 08:51 AM

That is true!

That's something! Well done for doing the exercises!

Going for coffee with L after her piercing check appt.
And i can run again after 6pm, because it will have been 48 hours (i know, I know)

That sounds like a good plan!

tamobhuuta 23-08-2023 10:00 AM

Morning guys.

Good luck with neuro Cacoethes, I hope you're safe to drive.

I'm glad you're having what sounds a relaxing morning lr.

Cacoethes 23-08-2023 10:03 AM

Morning tamo!
How are you?

Thanks!

Locksmith guy is coming today to put a new lock on.
He asked if i was around this morning, so I'm going to assume he's coming this morning.

tamobhuuta 23-08-2023 10:47 AM

I hope the locksmith cones soon.

Cacoethes 23-08-2023 10:57 AM

He's here now!

long road 23-08-2023 10:58 AM

Thanks Tamo it has been a pretty relaxing morning so far. The one benefit of waking up stupidly early is there is a lot of morning to spread my activities out over. Which means it easier to pace myself and to make time for things like my physio exercises, just doing leg ones at the moment once I manage those consistently I can add upper body ones back in, and then the yoga moves, best to do such things gradually.

I haven't started card yet ended up pottering around doing a few little jobs (don't worry nothing strenuous, just little bits like putting cleaning cloths onto wash, putting descaler in old kettle so it can then be put away clean later as a spare, hanging cleaning cloths on airer, checking if there was any store cupboard things I need to add to list for next week's shop)

Now doing emails and got a reminder my subscription to family history research site is renewing soon so going to do some research now so I can hopefully cancel the subscription this month as will have what I need.

Hope locksmith is speedy, I hate waiting around for people. EDIT - yay for locksmith arriving

one_step_closer 23-08-2023 11:09 AM

Hope everything gets sorted today, Beckie, and your appointment goes well.

I hope you have a good day, Jen.

How are you, Tamo?

tamobhuuta 23-08-2023 11:19 AM

Hurray for locksmith!

Well done for pacing yourself lr.

I'm ok thanks osc, how are you?

long road 23-08-2023 11:51 AM

Day is continuing to go pretty well I have gone a step further back on family tree. Although shoulders/ biceps have started getting muscle twitches. Nowhere near as bad as yesterday though.

Anyone doing anything exciting?

tamobhuuta 23-08-2023 12:00 PM

I've done some mindfulness!

one_step_closer 23-08-2023 01:37 PM

Are you finding out some interesting things, Jen?

I have also done some mindfulness! My support worker was supposed to be coming out at 2pm to make a plan to go to the gym on another day but she phoned to say she had been exposed to someone with covid so just spoke to me over the phone. Crookshanks has burst an anal gland yet again so I'm going out later to pick up some antibiotics for him.

tamobhuuta 23-08-2023 02:42 PM

Do you have a plan to go to the gym? I hope Crookshanks gets well soon.

not_so_insig 23-08-2023 03:58 PM

Hello all.

tamobhuuta 23-08-2023 04:12 PM

Hi insig, how are you?

not_so_insig 23-08-2023 04:37 PM

I am ok today thanks tamobhuuta. Been wild swimming before. Put the recycling out. Did the glass box which was rather full (it only gets done once a month).

long road 23-08-2023 04:59 PM

Nothing crazy found out as yet Lindsay, just tracing the family that bit further back. Although today I found out my 4 x Great Grandfather on my Nanny' side was born in England! And seeing as both my dad's parents were Welsh but Nanny used to make a big thing about Grandad's mums side being English I found it funny that you go far enough back she had some English in her too!

I had nap after lunch. Napped for around 75 minutes.

Hope Crookshanks feels better soon Lindsay.

How was wild swimming Dawn?

What have you been up to Tamo?

Cacoethes 23-08-2023 05:17 PM

Hey everyone

Appointment went well, he had the DVLA form in front of him and filled it out as i was talking! Speaking to him again in a year.

tamobhuuta 23-08-2023 05:18 PM

My aunt likes wild swimming. If I didn't hate water I could see how it could be fun! Well done doing the bins.

I've just been doing normal things eg TV.

How do you feel after your nap?

tamobhuuta 23-08-2023 05:18 PM

Excellent Cacoethes.

long road 23-08-2023 05:27 PM

Hooray for the form!

I feel a bit short of breath/ more asthmatic. So have moved into living room to sit up properly.

Still a bit groggy post nap but I think I have a little more energy than pre nap. Reducing steroids today has made sleep easier but also made me a bit more aware of how exhausted I am underneath the pseudo energy/zoomies steroids cause!

What TV are you watching while you wait for Doctors to return? And how long is unitl Doctors restarts?

Cacoethes 23-08-2023 05:30 PM

Thanks tamo and jen!

What's been on tv tamo?

Hope sitting up helps jen!
Post nap grogginess is never nice

long road 23-08-2023 05:36 PM

Sitting up plus inhaler is definitely starting to help.

Now got to decide what to watch on TV next!

Cacoethes 23-08-2023 05:38 PM

Good!

Ooh decisions!

tamobhuuta 23-08-2023 06:08 PM

I'm still watching Once Upon a Time on Disney +
Doctors comes back on in September

Cacoethes 23-08-2023 06:26 PM

Ah ok!

That's not too long to wait!

one_step_closer 23-08-2023 06:29 PM

Glad to hear your appointment went well, Beckie.

I had sent an email with a picture to the vet and he prescribed antibiotics which I collected and then an hour later I saw on their Facebook page that due to new guidelines they will now not be able to prescribe antibiotics without seeing the animal so I will have to physically take him to the vet in future which is annoying.

I have so much TV on my to watch list! Haven't watched anything yet today but been catching up with GPs: Behind Closed Doors since I didn't realise there was a new series.

tamobhuuta 23-08-2023 06:37 PM

That programme's quite entertaining.

long road 23-08-2023 06:47 PM

At the moment I am just watching travel vlogs on YouTube. And have just ordered delivery food as partners sister couldn't make it this afternoon to help with dinner in end as she was having a rough day. It's a good thing my parents are coming up tomorrow as I think partners family have been overdoing things a bit trying to be super helpful.

I forgot but I have roleplaying 8pm - 10:30pm tonight, I am not a 100% but I think I might be well enough to play which should be fun! Good thing I had my nap earlier or I'd definitely not be able to stay awake for it.

What season of Once Upon a Time are you up to now Tamo?

GP's Behind Closed Doors is a bit too close to my real life of the last 2 weeks to enjoy at the moment! XD

Have enjoyed it in the past though.

Cacoethes 23-08-2023 06:51 PM

Thanks lindsay!

That's annoying!

That show can be quite interesting. But can get a bit samey.
Like some of the 999 shows. Seems like most of them are just showing old people who have fallen and can't get up without paramedics

tamobhuuta 23-08-2023 07:01 PM

I'm on series 5 of 7

Cacoethes 23-08-2023 07:14 PM

How many episodes per series?

tamobhuuta 23-08-2023 07:55 PM

Usually 22 and they're 45 mins long

Cacoethes 23-08-2023 08:19 PM

That's quite a few!
Love a series with many episodes!

long road 23-08-2023 08:25 PM

Just started roleplaying. It feels so good to do something normal. Although I am trying to talk less than normal so I don't overdo it.

We are cleansing a temple of demonic influence

Cacoethes 23-08-2023 09:03 PM

I'm glad you're enjoying it!

Ooh interesting!

I have a doritos and salsa craving

long road 23-08-2023 09:55 PM

We have successfully defeated 2 corrupted priests and saved a wolf from being demon possessed due to an evil ritual so far. Just fighting the person who was trying to corrupt the poor wolf!

Salsa makes me very ill because it has peppers in it. Doritos are however amazing!!! What flavour is your favourite? Mine is probably cool original although also like the cheese ones.

Accidentally Abstract 23-08-2023 10:23 PM

Hey everyone, nice to read about all of your days. Glad you've managed role-playing and enjoyed it Jen. :)

I've had an alright day today. Therapy first thing which was alright, then was in the office this afternoon and was actually fairly upbeat and pleased that they've almost reconfigured my new desk (they kicked us out of the floor we worked on in the office recently which was a big upheaval for me, and I've found the one desk I think is tolerable on another floor and it needed to be adjusted a bit for me to work on it as it was an annoying standing desk without enough screens).

Hope everyone is having a good evening. I'm watching Celebrity Masterchef at the moment.

long road 23-08-2023 10:45 PM

Love a bit of MasterChef Luce! I haven't seen any of this years Celebrity one yet. On a scale of 1 to 10 how big of a disaster have this year's contestants been on average?

Accidentally Abstract 23-08-2023 10:46 PM

Not too bad? My opinion usually differs from everyone else's though so *shrug*. I did just have a proper laughing fit over one of them serving a baked potato though. :')

long road 23-08-2023 10:51 PM

A baked potato! On MasterChef! Lol! XD XD

I remember one year in the firs tmass catering challenges one got a sous chef to do all her work!
